On Google Forms, you can use “Help me create a form” to create new forms with Gemini.
You can also create forms from your Drive files, like Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and PDFs when you use Gemini.
This feature is:
- Rolling out gradually and may not be available to you yet.
- Currently available on desktop.
Use Gemini to create a form
- On your computer, open a new form in Google Forms.
- In the window that opens, enter a prompt that describes your form.
- Or, in the toolbar, click Help me create a form
.
- To get ideas for new prompts, explore the suggested prompt tiles or click Shuffle
.
- Or, in the toolbar, click Help me create a form
- Enter a prompt. For example:
- “Create a simple RSVP form for a neighborhood potluck, collecting name, allergy info, and what dish they'll bring.”
- You can get better results if you include more details in your prompt.
- Click Create.
- Optional: After you generate a form, you can:
- Edit your prompt:
- At the top of the generated draft, click the prompt.
- Edit your prompt.
- Click Submit

- Create a new version of the form: If you want to get more options for a given prompt or use case, click Recreate
.
- Important: After you create a new version, you can’t go back to the previous version.
- Edit your prompt:
- When you’re satisfied with the generated draft of the form, click Create form.
Tips:
- We don’t yet support the "Help me create a form" to create forms with multiple sections.
- We don’t yet support the "Help me create a form" to edit a current form. It’ll be replaced with the newly generated form.
Write prompts to create new forms with Gemini
Include details in your prompt to create more complex forms, here are some examples:
- “Design a form to collect data on exercise habits and fitness goals of adults.”
- “Design a post-event survey to collect attendee feedback on a business networking event.”
- “Develop a 10-question quiz to assess basic knowledge of biology for high school students.”
- “Create an event planning form for a weekend yoga retreat. Include options for accommodation preferences (shared or private room), dietary restrictions, and interest in optional add-on activities. Make sure you have one question which asks which weekend in April 2025 works best for potential attendees.”

- This feature is available as part of the Gemini Alpha.
- Your administrator controls access to the Gemini Alpha. If you can’t find these features, your administrator may not have Alpha features enabled for your organization.
- This feature is also available as part of our early access testing program, Google Workspace Experiments.

To generate new quizzes in Google Forms instantly, use “Help me create:“
- Based on your prompt, “Help me create” will generate a form or a quiz.
- When a quiz is generated using “Help me create,” it will also mark correct answers and assign points.
- A quiz can have a mix of multiple-choice, checkbox, grid, short, and long-answer questions.
Tip: “Help me create” can also use your documents or curriculum to generate a quiz.
- On your computer, open a new form in Google Forms.
- In the window that opens, enter a prompt that describes your quiz.
- Use toolbar: In the toolbar, click Help me create a form
.
- Sample prompt: “Create a 10-question quiz on biology for high-school students based on my course curriculum.“
- Use toolbar: In the toolbar, click Help me create a form
- Click Create.
- Review the generated quiz.
- To review correct answers and point values, check the box next to “Show answer key.”
- Optional: After you generate a quiz, you can:
- Edit your prompt:
- At the top of the generated draft, click the prompt.
- Edit your prompt.
- Click Submit

- Create a new version of the quiz: If you want to get more options for a given prompt or use case, click Recreate

- Optional: After you generate a quiz, you can:
- Edit the questions or change answer key. Learn more about create and mark quizzes with Google Forms.
- To get more questions based on your existing quiz, in the “Questions” tab, click Suggest questions.
- To publish your quiz, click Publish.
- To change the responders, in the pop-up, click Manage.
- Once done, click Publish.

Google Workspace with Gemini is constantly learning and may not be able to support your request.
If you get a suggestion that’s inaccurate or that you feel is unsafe, you can let us know by submitting feedback. Your feedback can help improve AI-assisted Workspace features and broader Google efforts in AI.
- Below the generated form, click Good suggestion
or Bad suggestion

- If you click Bad suggestion
, you can select the issue you found and enter additional feedback.
- Click Submit.
