Please add the ability to stop a scan. Otherwise it will continue until everything is taken in, which can take forever.

I have tested the system on several PCs and Networks,Really non guidelines in internet help us to enable WMI (initialization failure), I think we need a script to run and make sure that every thing is set.
the script could be on power-shell.

If computer name or its IP changes the system will create a new entry for that PC, If we use combination of some hardware serial numbers as an identifier of a PC we can update the new IP or machine name and update the real PC not only creating new entry, in DHCP environments this is very critical.
so we need to use 2-3 hardware serials to prevent misunderstanding when for example one of those hardware are changes, we may change CPU of the PC so we can find its identity from other serial numbers. feel free contacting me for some ideas on this subject.

An IP range detection is good and seems to be planed, but I think we should use unique credential to IP range, for example this segment has this credential.

If there's a policy against running certain programs or processes within a network ... such as Symantec Client Security, Skype or Halo .. (would be a pity) ...

If I could use a user-definable list of processes and services .. then mark those with a red dot if detected in the scan ... ?

'Softwares' - should read 'Software' - there's no plural

Processes - when a Process is Auto it should be running (except 'Performance Logs and Alerts', shadow copy and one or two other) .. so they should not be marked with a Green dot... If Auto and Stopped -> Red dot... Maybe also if Manual and Running - yellow dot... If 'Stopping' or 'Starting' - red dot ...

I've been working (slowly) on a service that sends the information ... but collecting would work...

Backups:
1) Check last backup time and date status etc
2) Backup sets ..
3) other details?

Antivirus:
1) Viruses found
2) Virus Signatures up to date - last update
3) Antivirus software up to date... licence expiry date...

Firewall
1) If switched on, details - networks attached to
2) Ports open / blocked / etc

If Exchange is on the server, then you could show version, service packs, queues, Exchange Store Size Limit, store size on disk, remaining disk space - the last thing I need is to find that there's not enough disk space to run an offline defrag... detect 1221 event id find out how much white space is left in the store,

useful to see the size of users' Mailboxes ... last login time...

maybe ... IMF settings - so we can tell whether the server is set to Archive junk emails (which build up if not deleted)?... whether ActiveSync is installed and active?

Exchange is not listed as an installed Software on SBS (updates for Exchange are listed)... so this Exchange tab would help...

Finally whether port 25 and 110 are responding or not ... not really a WMI instrument.. best way would be to create a tcp/ip port to 25 and send EHLO statements etc... but there are quite a few variations it gets tricky...
