Tonight’s curry making vibes, from the recent reissue

I made a dice bag last weekend using this pattern. I was tired of using a plastic bag to hold my dice and now get to dig through a nice soft bag for that perfect d20 instead!

I really enjoy how well I made these and their articulation points. I felt that the mechs needed some companions, so I created the Shepherds and their corresponding load out kits. They’re not 100% functional in a way I want, but boy howdy I enjoy them! One day I will make a biome for each of them.

Previously I’ve talked about one of the often lauded cornerstones of the amateur radio community, namely Emergency Response, and to be frank, I questioned then, as I do now, the reality of this, at the very least, perceived, foundational aspect of our global hobby.

I have really enjoyed the story games of Ben Robbins. Robbins is probably best known for Microscope, where the players construct a timeline by telling events in a non-linear fashion. They are light RPGs with a focus on characters and story telling. Most games have no stats or even randomizers (beyond your fellow players). They are easy to get into and so light on rules that one easily may think that it isn’t much to them, when they are constructed in a very deliberate way.

Y’all! I have a dang flower in one of my 20 longs. I’m shocked. This tank is running fine. Animals seems healthy but I’m not really doing anything special. This makes me feel like this tank is exactly dialed in though if this plant is so happy it wants to flower! I think it’s some sort of Buce but I’ve bought many randoms from /r/AquaSwap.

Was able to finally pop an 1100. Got it about a week ago after working various locks for practice. I’m stoked!

I got this kit, just to try out a granny square blanket (8x9 squares). This is a never again pattern, and never again yarn. This is never again for sure, not going back in 6-10 years like cross-stitch. :)

I really should stop doing patterns that go up to hiiigh numbers for a round. This one takes me to 84 stitches, and that little blob in the pic is 66. What we don’t do to get a cute companion raccoon.

On the one hand, I can’t find much to like about Billy Corgan.

When the Sun burps, something that it does regularly, the mainstream media starts talking about aurorae and optionally the end of the civilised world, not always as clinically as that. What’s not talked about, let alone explained, is the nature of the solar burp. You’ve likely heard the terms Coronal Mass Ejection, or CME, Solar Flare and perhaps Solar Wind, Solar and Geomagnetic Storm, and Solar Flux, but what do these terms actually mean and how do they relate?

Just found this sub and thought it appropriate to start from the beginning. This was the first album I bought with my own money. Back then it was all about CD’s, but years later i started buying vinyl and one day this one just stood there. To date the most goosebumpsying moment I’ve had buying a record.

I honestly didn’t think much of the F-91W at first. I kinda understood why it has the status that it does; it’s cheap, dead simple, and surprisingly tough for what it is, but even so, it always felt a little too basic and kinda meh for me (and the backlight looked like garbage, which it is – especially for an avid EL enthusiast like me)

When I started using Fountain Pens last year, I noted that there was something different about the quality of my writing. It seemed to have a different quality to it. At first, I couldn’t figure out the reason for it. But as I kept writing I meditated on the subject. As I turned the idea around in my mind for a while, I came up with a few thoughts seemed to explain what I was both feeling and experiencing.

One of the more, let’s call it challenging, skills to learn in amateur radio is the pace of the process. For many new amateurs I meet, face-to-face, on-air or online, the excitement to get started, to get on-air, to make a contact, to do something, anything, is contagious. It’s absolutely delightful to hear the reports of victory and triumph in the face of adversity, and truth be told, it’s worth celebrating, more than we often do in this community.

I got a J-Pole for VHF/UHF on Craigslist, and now that I have a NanoVNA (highly recommend!), I can see it’s not correctly tuned for 2m. It looks like it’s about 50MHz low for my 146MH ideal center, and while SWR of 3.4 is kinda usable, from what I read it’s not great for the radio nor ideal for transmission.

Got this at an absolute steal at my local watch shop. The owner didn’t realize how rare it was and let me have it for less than a third of what it’s actually worth; he later realized what he’d just given away, but honored the price nonetheless
