1 year ago	mod	Removed Comment For me, it is the other way round. Tesseract OCR is an established project for more than ten years. That there is some Tesseract client is something I learned today when I read the feature list and was wondering what they were talking about. I still consider this naming a severe lack of respect that could have easily be avoided. But this is my opinion, and nobody forces you to make it your own. I am just amazed that people react to minimal criticism in such an aggressive way that IMHO far outpaces what I wrote. And this is also my opinion. by Treczoks reason: Deleted by mod

1 year ago	mod	Removed Comment I was banned for criticising "art". Art is in the eye of the beholder, and everyone has the right to call a painting art. Usually, one would consider that the same right applies to criticise it as not art, but some people seemingly can't think that far, and banned me. I consider this ban not OK, but considered arguing against it a waste of time, given how mindlessly it was issued in the first place. Mastodon is slightly harder to use than Twitter or Bluesky so Mastodon categorically can never see widespread use under our current society. Some people in the fediverse have decided that's ok, and say they don't want normies here. You seem to feel the opposite. As such, you must accept that nothing will change until we make it exactly as easy to sign up and use as something like Twitter. Step 1: enter email and password Step 2: start browsing Any attempt to add a step in-between is doomed to failure. Unless you're suggesting we upend all of society.
