ROFL somehow I had never seen this before, thank you
Did I mention morality? First Past the Post is an enormously flawed voting system. But until we get rid of it, that’s the system we have.
It’s not though. The fewer people vote, the more likely it is for Republicans to win
“Loyalty” to a party is not a good thing, for one.
Abstaining is actually voting Republican, because of the voter demographics wherein Republicans have a dedicated chunk of zealots who will vote 100% of the time, and the Democrats having no such thing

3·3 months agoSurprised you’re running into so many gender-trads in Boston.
Then again, rent in Boston is crazy; maybe it’s not manliness, but that they are looking for breadwinners? Men with beacoup bucks don’t clean. You said you drive a practical car, not a status symbol. Dogs with pedigrees are expensive. Etc.

9·3 months agoEh, that’s like regular restaurant. Appetizer: $18. Entrees: ~$30 each. Drinks: like $16 each; on a date, probably each getting two. Dessert: $12. Add 7% tax and then 20% tip and you’re just about there.

32·3 months agoThere were bets on Trump saying certain words. Since it was canceled, he said none of them. https://polymarket.com/event/what-will-trump-say-during-whca-dinner-on-april-25
Allegedly there was also a bet for “Trump won’t speak at the dinner” but I can’t find seem to find it

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Billionairism should be formally recognized as a disease
8·4 months agoThe difference between a million and a billion is a billion, with a small margin of error.
Getting to $10 million is basically just the classic “American Dream”. Even $50-millionaires aren’t doing damage to society and the political system like billionaires do.
Quarter-billionaire is where you start getting sus IMO.

I can envision the Trumper response:
“He had Hunter do the trades FOR him”
Or maybe
“Well obviously! The Biden crime family only does backdoor deals. At least Trump uses the same stock market as everyone else!”
Which one will the right-wing propaganda machine go with, I wonder?
