Enshittify

They mention early on how an instance going down (or not cooperating) breaks the current redirect system is a downside of activitypub, but how will that change with LOLA?
However it works, I’m excited to see what they come up with

!196@lemmy.blahaj.zone is tho, which I think is what they meant
If I say no loud enough do you think it’ll make it true?

Fr, he’s never been more tolerable

People? Some, but not a lot. Dogs, though? I recognize every dog on my street and know most of their names, even some of the ones I’ve never met lmao
I don’t know what their vibe is but I love it, we need more people like this in the world
If it helps at all, .world is kinda the direct reddit equivalent here? Kinda the catchall, and generally either liberal or “apolitical”. Definitely not a space known for being particularly left leaning, and depending on your preferred flavour of progressive there’s likely an instance (or multiple) that’ll feel a bit more like home.
Specifically if you’d rather see more content from communists and/or furries it might be worth trying another instance given .world’s defederation with both. I’d personally really miss content from hexbear, let alone anywhere else that’s blocked, if I browsed from .world (though that’s not necessarily a common opinion so take it with a grain of salt lol).

I think it does, but the feature just came out and I haven’t interacted with it at all outside of seeing @rimu@piefed.social’s post yet so take that with a grain of salt
This would genuinely improve my faith in humanity so much if true, so I really hope you end up being right. It doesn’t change my outlook until then, but a little hope never hurt anyone lol

Campsites and portages are marked too, comaps is great
As a Canadian, hard agree on the poutine. Maple syrup is the much better stereotype
I mean, did almost 50% of the voting population elect Putin twice? Cuz personally that’s where I draw the line for blaming the entire country vs just the government for the government’s actions.
Worth noting though, blaming the country doesn’t mean blaming every citizen like you’ve implied - obviously a lot of people have done everything they can and aren’t complicit in this, I just think when there’s better than even odds that a random American either didn’t vote or voted for trump that a few good apples don’t redeem the bunch.
Unfortunately having access to all the pixels that make up a movie or all the words that make up a book doesn’t make either free, and the same thing applies to code depending on licenses

Piefed’s new “block posts in a subscribed instance by tag” feature could be a really useful thing for this if it spreads to lemmy and mbin, so that posts like these can be tagged “help” or something and people who are happy with rule 5 can block them

Of course, after all, Boeing investigated Boeing and found nothing wrong
This definitely started with some engineer saying “how are we going to get around the critical design flaw of these bigass pressurized air containers in the robot being potentially explosive and relatively easy to puncture?”
Marketing it as “give the plebs you sic this thing on a fighting chance, it’ll be funny” is actually a stroke of genius lmao
