Cris_Citrus (he/him <3)

I like art and being nice to people on the internet. At least most of the time. My previous account was Cris_Color before changing instances

Queer, gender-messy twink. Into crafts. Learning how to care for plants. Nerdy about fish and aquariums.

Its a sovereign country that is the colonization of an existing people’s home 😅

Its a settler colonialist nation trying to build an ethnostate in someone else’s homeland, and currently doing so by overt ethnic cleansing 😅

If any state is a legitimate one then all you have to do to legitimize any settler colonial state is set up a government and all of a sudden you’re allowed to be there and murder or displace all the other inhabitants, and any attack on you by those colonized people facing the wholesale destruction of their society can be claimed as self defense 😅

  • Yeah. Honestly I feel like if it were to be helpful the best application would probably be a mixed one, where a mod still uses and checks the inbox on the not account. So only partially automated, and only makes up some of the posted content

And I think it’d probably also work best if the mod picked what was to cross post and it could all just be put into a que, rather than just cross posting anything and everything. That way they can select stuff that would make sense to post even if they aren’t the originator: memes, articles, info-posts/guides, etc.

It’d still be less work than manually finding a ton of stuff to post, but still be much more intentional and interactive feeling.

  • I’m not saying its an overblown issue, I’m saying its disproportionately represented in a way that shapes our worldviews, and that does harm. That doesnt change whether you should call something out as wrong, it changes whether you should recognize the pattern and keep yourself grounded in an accurate understanding of the world. You cannot unpack your biases in a space that is constantly showing you evidence of your biases. The law of large numbers means there will always be a million and one examples of any given worldview, but that doesnt mean its accurate, and until you unpack the way your perception can be manipulated by the platform you’re on you can’t really work on any of those biases. You can learn to understand how the platform you’re on shapes your perception while still considering it wrong if a woman does something shitty, or if anyone does something shitty.

Nor am I treating it as exceptionalism, I frankly don’t even follow how that term would apply here.

I don’t mean to be rude, but I can’t tell if you’re just not a great communicator over text, or if your ideas on this subject just don’t make a ton of sense. Every comment I’ve had to read like 4 times to follow what you’re saying and I don’t generally have to do that
