A beautiful little, philosophical journey through the life of a cute goldfish, their dreams and hopes. The narrative is very simple but still immersive and addresses a very real topic. The philosophy behind it and the integration of the loop theme are fantastic!

The fish’s controls are smooth and the drawings are nice to look at. Only the music and sound effects were a little annoying towards the end, but not bad at all.

By far one of the best narrative submissions in this jam, great work! I have taken the red ocarina in the bowl and especially Phil deep into my heart. ovo

Thank you for the kind words! we're super glad you enjoyed our little game ;-;

Yes i am so sick of that song at this point lmao - ideally a future game of this type would better implement adaptive music to avoid the repetition that came through with this one, but i'm glad you liked it!

Phil is free

This is the best overall gaming experience I have had in this Game Jam this far. The artwork is really really good. The music fits the moment and the story packs some real live lessons. Also 2.5 days is really impressive. Keep up the good work! ^^

Developer

That's so incredibly kind of you to say, we're so glad you enjoyed it! :D

Had to sit in silence for a bit after playing. Definitely stands out from the crowd.

What a great idea!

I loved it :) Unfortunately, as I'm not an English speaker, the text went a bit fast for me. But it didn't matter, I understood the story as best I could and enjoyed the experience immensely. Definitely one of my favourite games so far :D

Well done to you, especially for making this lovely game in such a short space of time!

Thank you for the kind words and the feedback!

I'd definitely want to improve the way the story gets delivered in a future game of this style, whether  that means adding an adjustable timer you player can set in options or just having an input be required each day.

We're super thankful you played it :D

Very melancholy, I love it a lot! A deceptively cutesy game that has a lot of heart and reflection in it. I did enjoy seeing the food numbers go up, which made me think about myself as a person lol. The sprite for the goldfish was totally adorable. Lovely entry that took the theme in a unique direction!

Developer

Thanks for playing & for the kind words!

I too enjoyed watching the numbers go up, at least for a while

We're super glad you enjoyed it!

Cute little fishy, I felt kinda sad for his monotone life :((

I love the artwork, eating the food is satisfying and I liked how the fish is growing as days pass by! Good job ^^

Day by day uncovering narrative and minimalistic art combine a truly unexpected and wonderful approach for a loop experience! I am excited to get to play such games that  aspects of the medium. Well done!

I really enjoyed this game, it didn’t have a clear goal, but there was a real philosophical vibe to it. Only small thing: the fish turns a bit too fast. A bit of inertia would’ve been nice!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I think adding an option to adjust turn speed would have definitely been something I'd've liked to do

Not many people take the opportunity to really say something when making these little games, so this experience was a very pleasant surprise. It genuinely made my night better. Real good job of taking a concept with little complexity and really wringing something nice out of it.

Developer

hey thanks so much for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed our little game :)

When I was a little kid, I had a goldfish and it only lived for like 2-4 years, I can't remember exactly. But now I feel like an absolute monster because how bad was my care to cause him to die that fast? Granted I was a child probably less than 6 or 7, but it's sad and I feel bad for that fish now.

Your artwork and storytelling are amazing, though! Thank you for this experience.
