Buy European@feddit.uk•The Top Trade Partner of Every European Country
·3 months agoAccording to the statistisches Bundesamt China and the USA are the largest trade partners of Germany, and have been for a while. I'm doubting that the other countries are more accurately displayed
I misread the last sentence and thought you said you read the black book as in:
Show
Oh, yeah sure. It depends on the social medium I guess. Long form YouTube content should definetly work, not sure if something like twitter actually allows content to be in depth enough to get a understanding of anything. I thought you meant with your original comment people that like the communist goal (communism) and generally support the actions/programms of communist movements, but haven't actually informed themselves on materialism and the underlying contradictions of captalism.
There is no central authority that defines communism, so nobody can stop you from calling yourself communist, the word also has had varying definitions over time. The main difference I see is that if you haven't read anything, you are a idealist communist as your opinion is not based on a materialist analysis of the mode of production.
They have their own repos:

Ah, I understand now. That is AFAIK correct, however complienace with the New York bill will be impossible:
New York’s proposed Senate Bill S8102A requires adults to prove they’re adults to use a computer, exercise bike, smart watch, or car if the device is internet enabled with app ecosystems. The bill explicitly forbids self-reporting and leaves the allowed methods to regulations written by the Attorney General.
I am confused on what you are trying to say, English isn't my native language. Could you say what exactly the point of your comments is?
At least one of the laws made the OS responsible if the determined age is not correct, meaning if you don't verify the age you may still be commiting a crime, even if it is not required
You can not comply with laws. Its how all piracy sites and most social media sites work
Now you can choose to not use it instead of not being able to!

Linux Questions@lemmy.zip•How do you feel about Flatpak? Do you like having universal packages separated from the operating system, or do you regret how much space they take?
·9 months agoI don’t have any files on my OS drive and that is 1tb large. I have never had issues with space on that drive. What I mainly like about flatpak is that you usually get the latest version. Also not giving every app full system access during installation is reassuring, not just because of malware but because of package(updates) that break your system during to a bug
Also what would also be cool is one for AI generated content eg communities like !imageai@sh.itjust.works or !aiart@hilariouschaos.com
I just block the lemmit.online and zerobytes.monster instances and the lululemmy.com/c/redditmirror and 50501.chat/c/Mirror communities. There are probably more but those appeared in my feed so I blocked them. It isn't enough to block the specific bot accounts as the communities will still appear in the community list. Since the instances are as far as I can see just reddit archives I just blocked the whole instance.
The lemmit bot includes
This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot. The original was posted onin every post and the zerobytes one
The original post:in every post. There seems to be no consistent message with these bots, so I'm not surre text filtering would be more effective than instance/community/user based blocking
Codeberg has codeberg pages but the feature is in maintenance mode. I was just curious if there was any vendor lock in
I mainly block communities (not keywords) that are just automated Reddit archives. Depending on the bot used this could be done via the text in the post (if it mentions being a automated post), however I think community blocking works better for this so not a feature useful for me at the moment. I do however have a question regarding the way this would, would it be like an adblocker where it’s just a text file? If so, do you have to host it on GitHub or eg codeberg work as well?

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Can there be privacy with Google Play Services?
·10 months agoMolly uses Signals servers, meaning you can chat with people that use Signal. As far as I know Signal does allow for third party clients, so as long as their stance doesn’t change Molly should work. Differences between the versions can be found here
Thats a great list! If you're willing to stick around, I would for you to do quality assurance. You have really good attention to detail.
Sure
I would actually prefer this as the peertube embed UI is a little janky. I'll have to see how easy that is to do.
Yeah, it works fine on desktop but it's just not optimized for mobile
Yes! I want to solve a bunch of issues with create/edit post in the next release. You should also be able to add alt text for images in comments.
Good to know, I am existed to see how that turns out
You’re not the first person to ask for this. The only thing stopping me is I don’t want to overwhelm the user with options, but I think this has to be added. Alternatively I was thinking about prompting the person that opens the link how they want to view the post. I’m not sure if the person sharing or opening the link should decide.
I think making the person that opens the link decide might be confusing for non Lemmy/Piefed users
I'm not 100% I understand this. Generally more detail, or even photos, is better. Can you explain it like I’m 3 lol?
I tried to reproduce the bug but it seems to work now, probably something cached weird? Basically what happened is Blorp refreshed the list of moderated communities and then added the new ones, but after a few seconds it reverted back to the old list. This kept happening (the new communities being displayed and then disappearing again) every few seconds. It's working now so I presume it was the cache, but it the time it persisted between app launches and devices. Maybe an option to clear the cache manually would be useful
I'm aware of this issue. I think it reverts to the Blorp logo if your instance's logo isn't square, but I'm not 100% sure.
Edit: square wasn’t the issue. I think I found a fix.
You said you found a fix so you may not need this anymore, but the icon changed without changing instance. Also sometimes it is the Blorp icon with a white background
It's supposed to filter out articles, but maybe the filtering is broken.
I just checked, it's only on piefed
I agree. The issue is thers already like 6 different things you can click on within post, and adding more click zones is going to get confussinngggggg.
I understand, not sure how this could work. Maybe just an option in the three dot menu?
Not a bad idea. Though I might prompt the user to make sure they want to unsave.
I can see myself accidentally pressing it
Yeah.... I'm not sure the best way to fix this. Maybe I'll check what the other clients do.
When on a users page the username in the sidebar is cut of if it is to long, without any indication (... or so), maybe look at that as well
We pull the html title from the url. If the url doesn't set the title to the title of the article, that's kinda on them unfortunately. Though I am in the process of improving this, so this might get better soon.
I checked, appears to be piefed bug. I presumed it just wasn't implemented when I tried posting an article
I think I know what this is. PieFed API has a known issue where you can't update a post that has an empty URL. I'm working with them to fix that.
Awesome. Thanks for the response, I'm happy to help test when my time allows
