I've setup plenty of alias for different websites using Forwardemail vanity domains (e.g. mailsire.com). They work just fine for receiving but in a few instances I've missed the ability to also use them for sending. Think of conversations around any issue in online shopping. I end up using my regular email account in those situations and ideally I'd like to be able to send with an existing alias.
I know I can register any domain and start creating those alias myself, but to me that makes you stand out even more if you are privacy conscious.
