global hotkey to download what's in clipboard

This app should minimize to system tray so it doesn't take up space in the taskbar. It needs to be remain on to download anyway. Also if possible, somehow have global hotkey for downloading the link in the clipboard. Right now, you need to open the app, click + sign, then wait for video to show, then click download. I don't see why this couldnt be automated.

I like the idea! Something like this has been added in v3.1.0. You can use shift + control + v to "paste" a video into the queue. Then with shift + control + enter you can download what's in the queue. #613

There's also a feature request currently for minimizing to tray, as that can be useful I imagine for downloading in the background.

ok here's the full gui design idea for you. let it minimize into system tray, it can start on pc startup and stay on forever. control shift v to add queue from clipboard and it will have a notification popup saying it has been added into queue. even right now without feedback upon using control shift v, it's very jarring. people need to know if something happened. also notification for every message like dl errors etc.

also, for 3.1, the app starts with like half the full size and it makes me resize the window every time.

All good ideas. I'll try and get the following features in v3.2.0:

• Remember the window height + width and position on the screen.
• Show in tray / minimise to tray.
• Show notifications when:
  • An item is added to queue.
  • An item is ready to be downloaded.
  • An item has been downloaded.
  • The queue has completely been downloaded.

I'd like to make the notifications configurable so some of these can also be turned off, I can imagine that the "An item has been downloaded" can be quite annoying if its doing a alot, so I might turn that one off by default.

wow you implemented every idea i gave. i feel like i should get a cred for making this app so perfect. lol, no just kidding. you did a really good job. now this app can be extremely useful. before i was just using it only when neatdownloader didn't work but neatdownloader doesn't convert from ts so i had to use handbrake after. having it always on is very convenient, thank you for making this app.

i have a few more suggestions, perhaps you might be interested.
-the new UI is ugly compared to the old one and actually makes it look like an amateur app. a new user might think so if they didn't know how well it worked.
-it would be very nice if there was support for many other websites, especially if some sort of browser extension for you to know exactly which video on the page is being targeted the way neatdownloader works. i trust you more as a developer and want to use your app for everything but it doesn't work for most. for the ones it does work for, it is very good.

i want to tell you my use cases and maybe it'll help you understand which features you might want to implement next. i use yours to download videos that i can't right click to save. i have an extension that enables right click but some videos also don't have save video option. after that i go to neatdownloader because it targets the video, but it saves in ts file and ts is slow for seeking. so i must convert. if it's youtube, i always use yours because it works really well. there is two ways you can be the defacto app, you're already number 2 in my ranking. neatdownloader is number 1 due to the fact that it can save almost every video. if you can target videos with on click on the page itself and expand to every website, you will be number one because you are a more trustworthy developer on github. i think neatdownloader is some russian guy? he's probably stealing my info and potentially release malware in the future. lastly, there are many videos that can streamed on a browser but can't be downloaded. im not talking about amazon prime and stuff like that, that's probably impossible to overcome but some piracy stream sites are able to hide their streams somehow and i don't think it's that sophisticated to overcome. if you can make your app download these videos, you will be the undisputed leader by a mile.
