I'm sort of throwing this into the wind; not sure if it is useful or not to this community: Quad9 (on our blocking addresses like 9.9.9.9) marks blocked events differently than natural NXDOMAINs. We'll be moving to EDE in the future, but for the moment we tag NXDOMAINs that are "blocked" due to our filters by setting Recursion Available to "0" (instead of the usual "1"). This allows the user to differentiate between a natural NXDOMAIN and a blocked NXDOMAIN result. Feel free to delete this thread if it's not useful - just thought it might be interesting as I suspect there are some users who would find that logging data interesting. (disclaimer: I work for Quad9.)
