If, for whatever reason, you wish to use the original Mono-based version of SubtitleEdit, it has been moved to a new subtitleedit-legacy package.
If you've already been using the 5.x.x version via subtitleedit-avalonia, that package has been deprecated and will be deleted soon (probably when 5.x.x sans RC is officially released), so from now on please use this package instead.
Ah, you're right, I can see by the timestamps on the release page that the setup zip was stealth replaced about half an hour after I'd already pushed the update here. Mystery solved! And thanks :)
@Nocifer SE4015.zip has a time code roughly four hours later than the other files so perhaps the file was replaced after you downloaded your copy. Whatever the reason, I really appreciate your work as a maintainer.
Weird. That b2sum (00e75001...) was the result of hashing SE4015.zip before updating the PKGBUILD for 4.0.15, so I really don't see how the checksum could have been a mismatch. And I couldn't have hashed a different file by mistake, because the hashing was done automatically (with updpkgsums) but now that I hashed the file again, I got the correct 3e65f6d0... checksum. Anyway, it's fixed.

There is a new package subtitleedit-avalonia that provides a preview build of SubtitleEdit that is based on the cross-platform Avalonia UI toolkit and provides a vastly improved experience on Linux.
It's still experimental and some of the app's features may or may not work properly, if at all, but I thought I should share it here because it already works generally fine and more Linux users could mean more Linux bugs squashed more quickly.
ttf-dejavu is needed to see text on buttons and dropdown selections.

@tyrannis.hawk sorry for not responding earlier, I was aware of your request and you're absolutely correct, ffmpeg is indeed required for extracting waveforms, so I've added it as a new optional dependency. Thanks for reporting this.
