Economic and Social Council, recognized by the United Nations as a Peace Messenger Organization.
Based in Santa Barbara and New York, we work on advancing the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons and other nuclear disarmament, nuclear justice, and peace initiatives.

WHAT IS THE TPNW?
The Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) is a historic international agreement among states concerned about the welfare of humanity. The treaty prohibits the possession, development, deployment, use, and threat of use of nuclear weapons. The TPNW also contains a robust framework for assisting victims of nuclear weapons and remediating contaminated environments. WHY IT MATTERS
Nuclear weapons threaten everything we have ever known, everything we love. They threaten the existence of human civilization and even of humanity itself. We must get rid of nuclear weapons before they get rid of us.
WHAT WE DO
With the TPNW in force, we work with states and NGO colleagues and partners, like ICAN, on strengthening the treaty, from getting more states to join it, to implementation of provisions to address past humanitarian consequences.
