Ben and I had the brilliant idea to visit the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco last Saturday. The temperature was only forecast to be about 90 degrees, so we thought the heat would be manageable. Well, there's good news and bad news. The bad news is that it was, in fact, NOT only 90 degrees; it was over 100 degrees and stiflingly hot! The good news is that we chose to go on a day where the admission price just happened to be half off, so we saved ourselves a good deal of money. SCORE!
This slide was really cool. It is a clear tunnel that goes through the otter exhibit, so the otters swim right above and below you as you're going down.
We had to take an obligatory picture on the zoo statue--a MUST when you visit any zoo. It's a miracle the kids didn't burn their skin off though. It was mighty hot!
After the zoo, we stopped for a bite to eat at a well-known, but oddly named, burger and shake joint called Health Camp. Good food and even better shakes! A perfect way to end the day!
