Some of my favorites from Summer

Summer Visitors

We had so much fun getting visits from some of our favorite people this summer!

 Alicia, Brady and Asha came to see us first. It was so fun! Alicia and I went to Wicked, and we had amazing seats!!

 Then, Jeneal and my Grandma came to see us from Idaho. We loved having them here!

 Grandma, Papaw and Aunt Kristy came to see us next. They also came earlier in the summer, like springtime-ish. That was the time when we drove up into the mountains, but the hike we wanted to take was closed. So we decided to just eat our lunches. The lunches that I left in the fridge at home. So we decided to drive to the nearest town (not near, mind you) to find some lunch. The town that had no gas station. Did I mention that I was out of gas? And we were up in the mountains? The locals directed us to the house of a lady who keeps gas for just this reason (you know, dumb city-folk driving up into the mountains on an 1/8 of a tank of gas).  But that was their previous trip here, in the spring. The summer visit went much smoother!

Papaw

My kids have the best Papaw ever. Whenever he is here, he always has plenty of hugs, kisses and time to give to them. He's the best. Now, if we could only get grandma and papaw to move to Colorado!

Dad's Car

Sam had to write 3 sentences about his Dad's car for his homework assignment (kindy). Here is what he wrote:  
1. Dad's car is fast
2. Dad's car is blue
3. Dad's car leaks oil

Sweet Sam

My cute little Sam turned six today! There is so much we love about Sam. He is sweet and kind and affectionate. He is smart and sensitive. He loves fun. We sure like  him around here. I found this little essay about Sam written by Gracie laying on the kitchen counter this morning.

Sam
I have an amazing, silly, crazy, enthusiastic, athletic, caring, 6 year old little bother.  He has light brown hair and beautiful blue eyes.  His favorite color is blue.  Sam's favorite movie is Harry Potter. His favorite animal is a cheetah. His favorite food is pizza. His favorite ice cream flavor is swirl. Sam's favorite season is fall. His favorite book is the lion the witch and the wardrobe. Sams favorite plant is a strawberry plant.  If he could go anywhere he wants he would go to hogwarts and visit harry potter.  Sams favorite shape is an octagon. I enjoy Sam the most when he is caring.  His favorite friends are Jack, Ridge, Zachary, Benson, Luke, Quinn, Stone and the Schellhous boys. I hope you enjoy Sam as much as I do.

No seriously, I really did.
Thomas Kinkade and Disney on their own are weird/for kids/for grandmas. But put them together and...well, it's sort of spectacular. Maybe in this case, two wrongs do make a right?

Cheese Factory

Can I say something? Luke is so cute! And can I say something else? I like babies! This is a revelation to me, because before this baby, I didn't know that I liked babies! In the other two's defense, Gracie was my first, so that's never fun, and Sam was a preemie who had lots of troubles until he was about 18 months. But Luke! Now I see what all the fuss is about babies!

 

 

 

Luke is nearly 10 1/2 months now and I can honestly say that I've enjoyed every second of it. He makes me buy baby PJ's with cute sayings on it like "I'm all Mommy wants for Christmas". (And not just buy them, but tear up in the Kohl's over it because those are my sentiments exactly and how did Carter's know this?? )

Yep, pinned it. And if you know me at all, you know that I cannot handle cheesy lovey sentiments. This baby has made a sissy out of me!
