Good morning and welcome to another edition of Hunky Hump Day.
First, the song. My son-in-law got a Panama hat, so I asked Mini-me if it had a purple hatband. I couldn’t remember all the lyrics, just the chorus. I also remember seeing Connie Stevens sing this on “Sha-Na-Na” where Bowser wore the shoes and the hat.
Now for the hunks. Back to birthday boys from IMDB.
On a recent HHD Roamy included an “Easter egg” of a fine looking young woman attired in a “sensible sweater” as described by one of our multiple-aliased Hostages who most recently identifies as a turd. That was the spark that led to the bonfire in my mind for a new post topic. In this age of excess, a woman wearing a sensible sweater is a rare occurrence. In the quest for maximum clicks to elevate their social media status to the Big League level the amount of clothing has slowly but surely diminished which has exposed increasing amounts of skin. Think back to the olden days when phrases such as “getting under her sweater” really meant something. Who can forget the term sweater puppies?
It was at this shithole blog that I first heard Mel Torme labeled as the Velvet Fog. I had heard of him before and knew he was a singer but couldn’t name any songs he was known for performing. I’ll see if I can find a few. Here follows a link to a blog post of some dude explaining why he had velvet fog while singing.
