While rimfire ammunition might be their bread and butter, they also make fantastic centerfire handgun ammo, reloading primers, and even air gun slugs. Today, we are going to focus on one specific flavor of rimfire ammunition in CCI Green Tag, and the legend and lore behind it that you never knew.

It was my tag, and I shot first, squeezing a shot off from the 7mm Magnum when I had the crosshairs on the moose’s sternum—and nothing happened. Well, something happened—a stump directly to the left blew up as the bullet hit it. I’d been so busy shooting at the moose that I hadn’t considered the bush in front of me, which had apparently deflected the round.

The NICS numbers come from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System, and they are a rough correlation to firearms sales in the U.S.; licensed dealers must check the NICS database before a sale, and when you add up all those queries, you have your NICS numbers for the month.
