After long debate the staff of Submissive Journey Weekend have decided the to end the event.

This is not a choice we have made lightly. The reality we face is the culture of the kink scene and the broader culture are very different that nearly twenty years ago. The kink culture that brought us together has become more private with several larger events having ended and others going invite only. The broader culture is in a period trending more towards personal conservativism and preferences for private activity over public display.

A final, and heartbreaking issue, is the murder of Talina Zar not only cost us one of the greatest constants of the event but drew the attention of true crime buffs who routinely place chasing sensation over the privacy and well being of those associated with the victims of the crimes they obsess over.

While this is a good-bye it may not be forever. As times change and new blood with new ideas come forward we are open to passing on the legacy to a new generation who will preserve the spirit of the mountain.
