August 11 and the sun has been melting the European continent. Tomorrow, there will be a chilly moment over Spain during an eclipse totality. Tonight and tomorrow, the Perseid meteor shower peaks during a new moon! Astronomy fun, with this round of stencils:
Miniature cut-paper watercolor dioramas in vintage compacts. “In the end it will be okay; if it is not okay, it is not the end.”
Recent wanderings and submissions all lead to stencils in the good ole' United States. Let us take a stroll around the continent - north, south, east, and west - for a nice national stencil walk. And, to paraphrase XTC: "The US of A / hey, you / You should / Melt the guns" ! OK, back to being lazy during this nice Saturday.
Almost 9PM (21:00) here on the West Coast of North America, and the sun hasn't set yet. Ah, smooth, summer daze. As we work behind the scenes, getting photos processed to go up on the site, we'll drop these for now. Hope you like them!
As timing goes, Stephen just sent a pics from the Echo Park, LA zones, and one was an older stencil by Sticky Shaw. Turns out, three of Sticky's pieces were recently snapped in CDMX, and one older one was captured while driving through Bakersfield some years back. Thanks also to Amanda for a few of these pics. OK, time to wander in the sun now.
Here is the final round of stencil pics in Mexico City. Mostly ads today, but a few are at least somewhat interesting. There are a few others in this batch that are worth a look, so click on through.
Second-to-last upload of photos from CDMX, all from the Roma zones. Most of these were snapped during an intentional stencil wandering there and back. Like a good explorer, the trick is to never walk down the same street twice!
Today's uploads, like Mexico City, have it all: a hummingbird, a grasshopper, a boxer, some activism, some ads, some fine art, and hopefully something you will enjoy.
