Write the next
chapter
Join one of our crews and write collaborative adventures with players from many countries. No experience or extra software required - all you need is an email address.
Like writing a novel - with friends
Each of you plays a character, and you write your piece of the story every few days. Those pieces add up to a plot that lasts a few weeks - part of your ship's larger narrative. You receive everyone else's parts by email, and simply reply with yours. That's it.

An international community
Members from many countries and all walks of life. Connect with people you'd never otherwise meet.
Everyone has a place on this bridge
Not a slogan we picked up last year - a stance we’ve put in writing, and in code, for a long time.
“As a creative community, diversity is our strength. We want to support our Black members, and other people of color in our community - we stand shoulder to shoulder with our friends, neighbors, colleagues, and peers.”
And we keep dedicated spaces for our members - the Lambda Alliance (LGBTQ+) and the Soong Society (neurodivergent).

Before you apply
Is there a cost to join and play?
Applying and playing is entirely free. Our group is volunteer-run and supported by donations. No hidden fees, no premium content - just collaborative storytelling at no charge.
Which era of Star Trek does this game take place in?
Our sim is set in the year 2403, in the "prime" timeline - the main Star Trek continuity, picking up just after the events of Star Trek: Picard. The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Picard, and the destruction of Romulus are all part of our history and canon. (We don't follow the alternate timeline of the 2009 Abrams films.)
When can I start my training?
Training groups begin every Monday. Apply today; once your application is approved, you'll be scheduled for the next available class.
How active is the community?
Very. Check out our Community News, our wiki's recent changes, and the Sim Archive to see how active each ship is. Our Discord and email lists are always buzzing.
Do I need to log in at specific times?
No. The game is asynchronous - participate at your convenience. We host monthly Fleetwide Chats on Discord with plenty of notice if you'd like to attend.
What is the commitment level?
To keep up with most ships, you'll submit a piece of the story at least three times a week. During training you'll tell us your pace, and can choose a faster or slower ship.
Can I join more than one ship?
Once you reach the rank of Lieutenant, you may play up to two characters on two different vessels. Before that, you can create minor characters to help your ship's plot, and you can always retire and replace your character.
How do I choose a duty post to play?
Think about the roles you loved watching - helm, security, medical, science, and more. Our wiki's duty-post area explains each role, and the availability page shows which posts the fleet needs most.
What kind of writing skills do I need?
Writers of all skill levels are welcome. We value creativity and passion above all, and mentors are available to help you improve. You don't need to be a published author.
Are there any age restrictions for joining?
Our community is open to all ages, though we recommend players under 13 obtain parental consent. We strive to maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
What if I need to take a break?
Real life comes first. We offer a leave-of-absence system - just let your ship's command know, and we'll welcome you back when you're ready.
How do promotions and character progression work?
Progression is based on a mix of in-character achievements and out-of-character participation. Promotions are decided by command staff when a player shows consistent contribution and engagement.
