This website is dedicated to the memory of Sandy Denny - possibly the UK's greatest ever female singer/songwriter.
Sandy Denny was born "Alexandra Elene Maclean Denny" in Merton Park, London on 6th January 1947. She gave up a career in nursing to follow her love of music, singing and performing.
Throughout her short and often troubled life she penned some of the most loved songs. With a "voice of an angel" she captivated hearts through her soulful
renditions of her own songs and other people's songs, with her musical career as part of Strawbs, Fairport Convention, and Fotheringay, and excellent solo work.
Sandy died on 21st April 1978 but her music still lives on, stronger than ever.
