Today marks the release of the new album from Dead Tired. It is called Hornets of Fall and features 12 of their heaviest and strongest tracks to date. The band tackles capitalistic individualism, politicians that play to our worst instincts, aging, mental health, and more with no-holds-barred lyrics full of nature imagery, dynamically delivered by lead vocalist George Pettit. Connecticut post-hardcore band Montclair have announced that they will be releasing a new EP. It is self-titled and will be out on September 25 via New Mortality Zine. New Haven-based power pop-infused punks Dagwood have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called So What and will be out on September 8. Castle Rat release video for “DRAGON”

Castle Rat have released a video for their song “DRAGON”. The video was written, directed, and features animation by Riley Pinkerton, who also plays the Rat Queen. The song is off their 2025 album The Bestiary. Check out the video below.

Andrew Cormier of Piercing Damage talks the band's new EP 'The Set Up'

Last month, Charlottetown, PEI-based hardcore band Piercing Damage released their excellent third EP The Set Up. The quartet hones their ripping take on hardcore punk over the course of five tracks, creating dynamic and immersive instrumentation that sets the stage for lyrics as sharp as any well-taken-care-of sword. The Set Up is available digitally everywhere now. Piercing Damage will be playing Be About It Fest in Montreal in August and will be touring around the Maritimes in September.

Kaonashi: “Typing…”

Kaonashi have released a video for their new song “Typing…” The video was directed and edited by Midvessel. The song is available digitally now via Equal Vision Records. Kaonashi’s festival, Never Home, takes place later this month in Philadelphia. They’ll be touring North America with Callous Daoboys in September, and they’ll be touring with The Number Twelve Looks Like You in the fall. The band released their album I Want To Go Home. in 2025. 924 Gilman announces 40th anniversary benefit weekend

924 Gilman has announced a four-day weekend of shows to celebrate its 40th anniversary. September 24 will be New Band Night and will showcase “the next crop of Gilman Street bands”, the lineup has yet to be announced. One Last Prayer, Opposing Force, Cross Checked, Nieghborhood Threat, Brute Pressure, and Look Away will be playing September 25, and The Enemies, Trap Girl, Street Eaters, Hex Pest, and Attack Dog will be playing on September 26. September 27 is Alternative Tentacles Night and Victims Family, Toys That Kill, Fleshies, and P.O.S. will be playing. All proceeds will go to the nonprofit member-run club that operates 924 Gilman.

Today, we are thrilled to bring you the premiere of the new split EP from Montreal bands Antenna93 and Chop Sue Me! The EP is called 1000 WHATS and features two tracks by each band. Speaking about the title of the track, Chop Sue Me bassist Antoine Morin said,

”The title 1000 WHATS came from a lyric in the song “Power Drop” by Antenna93: “Thousand watts behind my eyes.” But as you can see, the title of the EP is written Whats instead of Watts. That comes from a Facebook Marketplace post where someone was selling speakers for a guitar cab and accidentally wrote “Watts” as “Whats.” We thought it was funny and it became the inspiration for the title. As you can also see, there is a clear influence from the album 1000 Hurts by Shellac, both in the title and the album cover.”

Antenna93’s songs are “Power Drop” and “Bottled”. Speaking to Punknews about their tracks, the band said,

”For Antenna93’s tracks, both are relatively very fresh for our standards - generally, we keep songs for a while before recording them (“Jack in the Green”, the last track we released, had been in our rotation for about a year and a half before we got to recording it). This split came up in a pretty impromptu way, and to match that energy, we decided to use tracks that were very new. “Bottled” especially had only been completed a few weeks prior to recording.”

Chop Sue Me’s songs are “God Blows Minds” and “Ice Pick”. Speaking about the split, Morin said,

”Doing this split EP with Antenna93 was just the best move we could have made. We had these two songs left before starting to fully work on the album, but they didn’t really fit the vibe of the upcoming record, so this was the perfect opportunity for us to finish them and feature them on a split release with our good friends and one of our favorite bands in Montreal, Antenna93.

Some people might think we are arch-enemies, but this split is a little letter proving that, at the end of the day, you can still be friends with your best enemies.”
