The Mandolin Archive in Recent Years

Many thanks to all the people who have supported the archive over the years!. It has been quite a while that I have been unable to add most new listings. I do still keep the F5 Journal up-to-date, and occasionally list other interesting unusual instruments.

I apologize for not being able to continue to list all the submissions on this site, though I think the instruments found in the collections represent a very good sample of what has survived.

Most of my traffic these days comes from AI bots looking for content to add to their models- I try to keep them at bay but it's a constantly evolving battle.

Please do get in touch with the contact pages if you have questions about any instruments in your possession- I'll do my best to refer you to someone near you for restoration work, appraisals, or to help suggest one of the friends of the archive who might be able to help you sell an instrument you don't wish to keep. I always enjoy the fun of telling someone more about their old mandolin, based on all the stories and instruments I have had the pleasure to catalog over the years.

I'd like to acknowledge a special debt of gratitude I have to Scott Tichenor at the Mandolin Cafe, who hosted the archive for years along side his wonderful resource.

With kind regards, and a shared love for vintage instruments!
