Tim Hedges of Around Town Agency has spent the last 30 years helping authors navigate the city – and keep their sanity – on tour. Tim’s nephew, journalist Matthew Schneeman, hopped in Tim’s car for a trip down memory lane (or just Grand Ave in St Paul) to hear stories of some big names in the literary world – Maya Angelou, Nora Ephron, David Sedaris, and Marjane Satrapi, to name a few.
Matthew Schneeman is an audio journalist who’s been able to go to pet cemeteries, bogs, raptor festivals, pro-wrestling events and more for MinneCulture. He’s produced and hosted independent podcasts, writes fiction, and loves birding and bouldering.

This past June, tens of thousands of athletes and fans came to Minneapolis to take part in the Special Olympics USA Games. The games are held every four years in cities around the country. As part of MinneCulture’s emerging producer program, reporter Daniel Hood caught up with a few members of Team Minnesota as they prepared to compete and followed their journey at the big event.
