Gareth L. Powell has written more than twenty science fiction novels, novellas, and collections.

He won the British Science Fiction Association Award for his novels Ack-Ack Macaque (2013) and Embers of War (2018), and he has been a finalist for many others, including the British Fantasy Award, the Aldiss Award (UK) the Locus Award (USA), the Premio Italia (Italy), Premios Ignotus (Spain), Seiun Award (Japan), and the Canopus Award (International).

He has also co-edited three anthologies for Stars and Sabers Publishing.

He writes mystery and horror as G.L. Powell.
