Zaidi emphasized Baghdad’s interest in strengthening relations with Riyadh and reiterated that his government does not want Iraqi territory to be used to launch attacks against any neighbor. The two sides agreed to continue intelligence sharing to address emerging challenges and avoid further escalation. The high-level engagement continued on August 13, when a delegation of senior Iraqi intelligence and security officials arrived in Riyadh.
