I work at a progressive church in Far East Dallas, and love the images of the stacking stones. I wondered if I could use a couple for a series graphic. The series is talking about really bad, hurtful theology that we hear far too often in the Bible Belt, as opposed to building community, caring for one another, living in the tension of differing opinions, and so on.

Please let me know what you think.

Neil

It came up on a google search for an image. I was wondering if you had this image in a larger format that I can use on a display for a small start up company.
All we have budgeted for photo used on this is $45. I know its not a lot but thought I would ask. Thank you!

I have had this domain since 1999 and it means a lot to me. Good luck to you in your business. ]]>Aquileo | Comment on Cairns at Sand Dollar by David Herscotthttp://www.emdot.com/cairns-sand-dollar/#comment-20199 Tue, 02 Sep 2014 22:14:38 +0000http://www.emdot.com/?p=2211#comment-20199I am starting a new company (B2B publishing) and would like to buy this domain from you. I guess if there is one ongoing truth for this part of the coast, it is that fires will come again (unfortunately). Thanks for battling the blazes back then.

You are right, also, about the views. Pretty. Peaceful. Perfection.

I was fighting fires along the California coast in ~1986 and we ended a night shift of patrol/mop-up at the TH location before hiking some distance for the ride back down to firecamp. We were told (mistakenly) at that time of it’s Roosevelt connection and that they had committed many fire resources to protect it, as evidenced by the extensive hand & cat lines. But even in ’86, the residence was in a pitiful state of repair, mostly from water damage due to the even-then collapsing roof. I do recall a bit more woodwork existing then since seeing pictures from 2011 and after. All this to say that a fire in 2008 did not alone diminish the TH’s condition. I must say that the view from the home’s huge covered deck area that one fine morning stuck with me. ]]>Aquileo | Comment on The Hidden Bench That Scared Marya by maryahttp://www.emdot.com/the-hidden-bench-that-scared-marya/#comment-7916 Tue, 05 Aug 2014 15:46:54 +0000http://www.emdot.com/?p=1359#comment-7916P.S. That explains why I haven’t been able to find the bench since this post. I visited three or four times since and was never able to find it again. ]]>Aquileo | Comment on The Hidden Bench That Scared Marya by maryahttp://www.emdot.com/the-hidden-bench-that-scared-marya/#comment-7915 Tue, 05 Aug 2014 15:46:07 +0000http://www.emdot.com/?p=1359#comment-7915Roy – I’m so glad you wrote to tell me about the bench. That is bad news. I will help to get the word out to gather funds or to tell people what happened. I have to admit — I can’t bring myself to watch the video of the person kicking the bench down. That is a terrible thing.

I’ll write to you and see how I can help.

Cheers from the Central Coast of California!

We drove the Highway 1 in March 2013 and we also stopped right at this point. We didn’t know why but we stopped there and we were pretty surprised and happy to see this little bench. Unfortunately I can’t remember where exactly this bench was located. I tried to find this spot on Google Earth but I could’nt find it yet. Do you remember exactly where this bench was located. I looked up the north of the new bridge near Limekiln but could’nt find it yet.

I have recently found a video on YOUTUBE and this video is very sad. At the end of the video the narrator himself kicked down our bench into the cliff.

That’s why I’m trying to start a little project to rebuild this little bench on exact the same lovely place. Thank you for your help and your interest. If you want to you can contact me via info@graphic-island.de

Greetings from Germany, Roy
