Are you working in global health and mission, or considering doing so?

CMF Global is hosting a series of eight interactive online training modules for rural healthcare workers and those considering serving in a rural, limited-resource setting. The training modules are led by General Practitioners and specialists with experience working in resource-limited rural contexts.

Sessions take place monthly (excluding December and April), and last for 90-minutes. Teaching is delivered in sections to allow plenty of time for questions and discussion. Participants are also welcome to stay online at the end of each session to chat and pray.

The modules run from 12:00 to 13:30 UK time to allow participants in Europe, Africa, and most of Asia to link in at a reasonable time. They are recorded, so those who have signed up but cannot make it on the day can watch afterwards.

        See the session details below:

        • 8 Sept 2026 – Session 1: Obstetric emergencies – common problems to look out for in clinic, through to treatment in a hospital setting.
        • 13 Oct 2026 – Session 2: Treating psychiatric illness in a majority world setting

Do you have questions about faith at work?

        • Is talking about faith legitimate?

The medical literature increasingly recognises the important link between spirituality and health. Yet many Christian health professionals feel frustrated by the challenge of integrating faith and practice within the time constraints and legal obligations of the workplace. GMC guidelines approve discussions of faith issues with patients provided it is done appropriately and sensitively.

Christians are called to be ‘the salt of the earth’ flavouring life with grace and truth. Saline Process is a one-day course designed to help Christian healthcare professionals become more comfortable addressing a person’s spiritual needs in a clinical context. There is a mixture of teaching and small group discussion.

The course will take place from 9:3am0 -5pm on Saturday, 3 October 2026, Portswood Church, Southampton. Refreshements will be served from 9:15am, with a prompt 09:30am start – refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.

        Your Saline trainer:
Laurence Crutchlow – GP and CMF Associate Head of Student Ministries.

        Cost:
        Doctors and dentists: £40

Suffering, Hope and Glory – 1 Peter

Jesus never promised that the Christian life would be easy, but he does give us a sure and living hope. In this series through 1 Peter, we’ll explore how God uses suffering and hardship to refine our faith, shape Christlike character, and point us toward future glory. As we fix our eyes on Christ – the suffering Saviour – we learn not merely to endure, but to stand firm with unshakable hope.

Speaker: Tobias Brown is originally from the South Side of Chicago. He is an alumnus of Moody Bible Institute and holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in theology. He previously served as Associate Pastor at Trinity Grace Church in New York City for seven years, having lived there for twelve years before moving to London in 2019 to serve at All Souls Langham Place. He currently serves as an Associate Pastor/Elder at Grace London and lives in South London with his wife of over 20 years, Angela, and their three daughters.

Do you have questions about faith at work?

    • Is talking about faith legitimate?
    • Is it good medicine?
    • Is it practical?
    • Would I have time?
    • How can I learn more?

    Foundation year doctors: £27
    Nurses and midwives: £27

Dream Small – Helping healthcare professionals enjoy the eternal impact of the ordinary

We all long for meaning, but the world tells us it comes from big dreams and personal achievement. Scripture offers a different path: our worth is rooted in knowing our Creator, and true contentment comes from living out his purposes. In Christ, we’re freed from chasing worldly success and can pursue what God values—serving others, investing in people, and living faithfully. These small, often unseen acts carry far greater and eternal significance.

    Speaker: Seth Lewis

Seth Lewis is the pastor of Carrigtwohill Baptist Church in County Cork. He and his wife Jessica have three children, a turtle, and a small garden. Seth is the author of Dream Small: the Secret Power of the Ordinary Christian Life and The Language of Rivers and Stars: How Nature Speaks of the Glories of God.
