ABA member Laís Ramirez Santoro, a law student who was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, appreciates the chance to connect with and support other immigrants through the ABA Commission on Immigration’s Safe City Baltimore Legal Screening Hotline. “There’s always so much going on, but I will take calling a client and listening to them for an hour or so over reading a case for class, any day,” says Santoro, who already has completed multiple intakes for the hotline. “And the work will get done.”
