For over three decades, the 30 Hour Famine has made an incredible difference, not only for people facing hunger, but also for the youth groups and students who’ve been part of it over the years. Together, youth groups across the country have:
-Inspired students to fast and serve more than 6 million times
-Raised $190 million to equip over 4.7 million children with food
-Sparked a generation of young people to live out compassion and justice
That’s an incredible legacy of faith in action!
And now, we’re stepping into what’s next. As you know, today's students are engaging the world differently, so as we are saying goodbye to the 30 Hour Famine, we are creating space to dream about new ways to connect and serve together.
While the 30 Hour Famine has concluded, its heart and mission continue. Through the Global 6K for Water, we have a different way to engage students with God’s heart for the poor. The Global 6K is a worldwide movement where participants walk or run 6 kilometers (3.7 miles), the average distance many women and children in vulnerable communities travel each day to collect water.
Every registration equips a person in need with clean, sustainable water!
Clean water means:
🌡 Kids are better protected from disease and infection
📚 More girls are free to go to class, and moms can run households or businesses
🥬 Parents can grow crops year-round and increase their livestock
❤️ Medical centers can operate safely, improving people’s overall health
