One of my favorite songs ever is the rendition of I am a Child of God by Gladys Knight and The Saints Unified Voices. I came upon it by purchasing her Cd at Seagull book for $1.99! It was last June or so. Anyway, Sofi drew these pictures at Church and it reminds me that we are all Children of God! And even a tiny 4 year knows that and soaks up so much information around her!
The elementary school is almost right next to the church! It is just kiddy-corner behind it! She is so perceptive!

She was so excited to show us her Angel Moroni and the front door to the Temple! It is amazing how much children do soak things up that are true and full of light! We took Sofi to the Draper Temple open house. The windows all have designs on them which is portrayed her drawing!

What do you do when you are expecting someone to come to your house at 11:00-ish and they don’t show up until 3:00PM? You turn your fun picnic basket into a beautiful tea party!
My sis was coming over to hang out for her birthday. I love her to death but I have learned not to rely on her time wise! So as I was watching the clock it came apparent to me that she was going to be too late to go on a picnic at Thanksgiving Point. So I pulled out stuff I already had and made do! It turned out cuter than going on a picnic!

Happy Birthday Ghostie!!! I love you no matter how mad you make me!!! 🙂

All in all… I learned a lot from Martha Stewart when I was on bed rest with Sofi! Thanks crazy Martha!
On the first day, God created the dog and said: ‘Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years..’ The dog said: ‘That’s a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten?’ So God agreed.
On the second day, God created the monkey and said: ‘Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I’ll give you a twenty-year life span.’ The monkey said: ‘Monkey tricks for twenty years? That’s a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?’ And God agreed.
On the third day, God created the cow and said: ‘You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer’s family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years.’ The cow said: ‘That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I’ll give back the other forty?’ And God agreed again.
On the fourth day, God created man and said: ‘Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I’ll give you twenty years.’ But man said: ‘Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?’ ‘Okay,’ said God, ‘You asked for it.’ So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.
Life has now been explained to you. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I’m doing it as a public service.
My cousin Trisha posted some of the funniest pics on her blog. So yes, I am copying her! These are hilarious! I thought some of our family pics were bad!

If it’s not one thing it is another for me. I really feel like I chose to be accident prone before I came to earth! Actually now that I am thinking about it, I remember one of my nicknames in high school being AP (accident prone)! I have an AP magnet super glued to my forehead!
Some of you already know this, but for those of you that don’t here is my story!!!
In February I was bucked off my horse. Now you would think that I would know how to fall off a horse… and I did attempt to roll, but the ground was closer than I thought! J I have been in a TON of pain since the fall. I have been seeing someone that does an alignment that isn’t a chiropractor jumping on me. My migraines are gone! And the sciatic pain is lessoned. But me being me I cannot stay down which brings back the pain! On Sunday I decided that I just am not going to do anymore! If I am going to get better I have got to stay down no matter how difficult it will be! I am just SO STUBBORN!
Here is what the result read from my MRI:
Annular tear
Irritation nerve root
Disk bulge L4-L5
Disk protrusion L5-S1
I have sciatic pain down both legs. My left side is feeling a lot better, but my right side kills me. My right foot goes numb on really busy days. I feel like ripping my legs off! I keep pushing myself and deep down wishing that I had a doctor tell me to never get out of bed! Being a mom, wife and very active person it is difficult to accept assistance from people and loved ones. I know this is an area that Heavenly Father pushes me to learn. I am just SO STUBBORN!!!
My cute sister Hadi is living with us this summer between college semesters. I am OCD and it takes every once of pain to allow her to assist with anything! She even reminds me that she can do things! I love her so much and feel awful having her do things (partly because I am so picky about things being done the way I like them to be). If any of you have OCD you know how bad the anxiety comes when allowing others to clean your house! But this is where I have got to suck up my pride and let things go! I am just SO STUBBORN!!!
Yes, there is a something for all of us to learn from this long post! Whitnie is VERY STUBBORN and OCD! And Whitnie has got to learn how to STOP!!!!
Obviously easier said than done!
This past weekend I had the chance to watch my brother run at State for Skyline High school track team! He is a sophomore taking on kids that have a lot more experience. He was amazing to watch! What a kid!
Best times through the season:

Look at his lead…

Now look at his break away!

That’s my bro!!!
I am so thankful to be a mom to the BEST child in the world!!! She is my light and my happiness. And though I will not have any more children in this lifetime I know that I am a mom to so many others! I have been blessed with knowing that I am a Child of God and that I have a Heavenly Mother. I am so thankful for her and her role as being my Heavenly Mother. I can only imagine what it will be like to have her hold me in her arms once more! I commit to Sofi that I will continue to be my best in being a loving, patient, teaching mom! Thank goodness for moms!

I let the dogs outside this morning and this is what I witnessed on my deck!!!!

Keep in mind that Shea is 90 pounds!
Yes… it is beautiful, but I was just enjoying the beautiful WARM sunshine on Monday playing on the GRASS with NO shoes!

Saturday Gary and Sofi went and picked out some baby chicks. They chose 5 of them. Sofi has named them; Pepper, Chocolate, Stripes, Buddy and Kai. She is sooo excited about them and we play with them a lot!

Gary was so sweet and fixed up the old dog house (the one they used when Gary was growing up) into a cute home for them. He even made them a nest of newspaper and a heat lamp!

Too much fun!
