Hi guys, we're still alive. A lot of awesome stuff has happened the last 3 months. Maybe one day we'll get ourselves updated. But maybe not.

I do know that this week we get to celebrate Davey's birthday and then fly off to Phoenix for some serious vitamin D.

Hey check out the guy on keyboards playing with Mideau at the Velour...He plays drums and guitar and has an amazing voice too. Dave had a blast during his 3 days off of GS practicing and playing with Spencer and Libbie's band. And the shows were truly awesome.

SO..this is my car on Friday morning..12 hours into the biggest storm I've seen in 10 years. I carpooled to work and the snow plow kind of buried this poor guy in. Thanks to BT and Dave for towing it with a rope out and safely into the driveway.

and...I have lots and lots to do at work and no DC to power through. Hi water. You're kind of boring but my new go-to for 2013. (14 days in and going strong.)

My personal popcorn bowl during the Globe's last night. I guess I won't look like her or her as long as I eat like this...but hopefully I don't turn into the other Cate anytime soon (see below).

Never have I seen anyone laugh as hard as when Dave realized there was another Cate (with a C) on Biggest Loser this season.

It's pounding on us. I am pretty sure we've had 18 inches at our house since last night. The roads are a disaster. We're going to a wedding tonight and then to Zero Dark Thirty. Then I would be happy having a snow day tomorrow..aka stay in all day, eat delicious soup and watch movies.

Do yourself a favor this weekend. Go pick this up. It's a game changer.

Thanksgiving 2012

We had the best Thanksgiving. We went with my family to New York to visit my grandparents who are currently serving a public affairs mission for the church there. We had quite a fabulous #LYJB trip. It was filled with great company, food, shopping, site seeing, shows, games, etc! Thanks to my parents & grandparents for making this such a memorable Thanksgiving!

2012 in Review

January:

Spent New Years Weekend at Sun Valley with some of our favorite people.
Dave spent a lot of time volunteering for Mitt.

February:

We started the month with a very fun Superbowl party.
Dave started his first grown up job at Goldman Sachs.
We went to a Mitt event to see him speak at Little America.
We went to Las Vegas with Jim & Kris for Olivia Papa's baby blessing.
I got my 3rd wisdom teeth pulled out.

March:

I went on what I knew to be my very last business trips with Maggie Sottero. (I had interviewed for a job that I thought I was going to take)
Dave turned 25!

April:

We joined the Todd family spring break in Las Vegas for some shopping, sunshine, and good company! (Dave & BT snuck in a golf game with Aaron Papa which was definitely a highlight)
I decided NOT to take the job and still leave MS and give myself some time off to decide what I wanted my next move to be.
Jen graduated from LAW SCHOOL!
Ruthie was the key note speaker at BYU Women's Conf and did an incredible job.

May:

We hit our one year mark, and celebrated with a trip to NYC.
Wedding season in SLC began.

June:

I turned 23, and was enjoying the "temporarily retired" lifestyle.

July:

We spent 4th of July with BT at the CC pool and 4th of July buffet that night.
Dave headed to NYC for 2 weeks for Goldman Sachs training.
I went to San Clemente with my family while Dave was in NYC.
Dave completed his first 100 mile bike race & crushed it.

August:

We tried to spend as much free time outside as possible.
I started interviewing for jobs and trying to find one that felt right.
Dave continued to work super hard at GS. (He usually hits 40 hours on Wednesday.)

September:

Dave, Aaron, and Eric ride LOTOJA. Dave rode leg 2-finish. Hello, crazy impressive husband.
I found the job that seemed like a great fit..new field..great office..great job..great people..extremely great flexibility and work culture. Took the job & decided to start after our "fall break" trip.
Pearsons come in to town for Jen's birthday & conference weekend to see John's family too.

October:

October 2: John gave Jen a pair of baby shoes and a few seconds later it hit us that he was SERIOUS and we were adding a new little baby to our family! YAY!
We went to San Clemente for a few days and then met up with Brookie & Jake in L.A. for the rest of the week. We went to every mall. Every Madewell. & Every J.Crew.
I start working again.
We have our annual "Spooky Dinner," that did not disappoint!

November:

We voted on Nov. 6 and we still don't really want to talk about that sad sad sad night.
Had the BEST Thanksgiving in NYC with the Jones Bones! #LYJB
The last week of the month, we got to "play house" and babysit one of the cutest families we know.

December:

9. We are SO thankful that these two decided to have a baby! I have seriously never been more excited for a child to come into this world. I'm already planning activities to do with it (depending on if it's a girl/boy), I got it it's first Christmas present from its favorite aunt weeks ago, and am just giddy every time I think about it. I already love this little girl/guy and am so so so excited for it to come into the Todd family. AND perfect timing because it will only be a month old when Bud comes home.

We are very thankful for the right to VOTE. Whether our preferred candidate wins or loses, we still get to have a say in the matter. What a blessing. And now, with the news of another 4 years under the Obama Administration, I truly hope the President of THE FREE WORLD, will realize the responsibility he has to lead the people of this incredible country.

We are so lucky that we both are serving in the P3 primary right now. I teach the sweetest group of Sunbeams and Dave is the primary pianist. LAST Sunday, in honor of Halloween week, Dave got wrapped up like a mummy. The better the kids sang, the more wrapped he got. I think he made about 20 new friends who think he is so awesome because he was the mummy. We love our callings. It makes church so much fun!

We are thankful we can get news instantaneously. This week, we were glued to our phones following twitter, texts, NY times, etc about Sandy. We were nervous for our family and friends that are back east and would be impacted by this storm. Next week, well let’s just say, it’s pretty much the NBA finals.. political style for us. I love that we are able to vote in the closest Presidential race in 50 years. {I just wish we were voting in a swing state.}

We are very thankful for our jobs. Dave's been at his almost an entire year, and we feel like it is such an amazing first job. I just started my 2nd post college job in October, and I already love it. It's such a blessing to look forward to going to work every day and feeling like you have things to accomplish each day at your job.

Here's to one of our favorite months. We love that we get to reflect on all of our blessings and be reminded of the things we get to be grateful for every day this month.

1. We are grateful for our relationship. Although we started hanging out/dating from the first time we met, we quickly became best friends. After 2 years of dating and over a year and a half of marriage, our close friendship has only strengthened. It's the best to just have our person..and be each other's person.

Fill in the Blank Friday

1. Right now i see possibly the most spectacular garden view out of my bedroom window. The coleus is a vivid maroon. The leaves are turning yellow and I just could stare out the window for hours .

2. The best song i've had on repeat this week is a tie between this and this. There is nothing better than finding songs your forgot about in your iTunes library .

3. I'm really excited that we finally framed the most spectacular picture of the Western Wall from up in the Jewish Quarters. I get chills thinking about Garrett sitting up on top of a ledge and capturing this image. I will always have such a love for this city. I feel like i learned so much here and strengthened my own personal foundation for life.

4. Something that has inspired me lately is: I've always noticed the saying on the brazilian flag, which translates to "order & progress." I googled where it came from and it originally is from Auguste Comte's motto of positivism."L'amour pour principe et l'ordre pour base; le progres pour but" which translated is, "love as a principle and order as the basis; progress as the goal." isn't that an inspiring way to build your life? love, order, progress .

5. My most anticipated item in my closet to wear for fall is a fresh pair of the archive boots from Madewell. I got them last year and have been saving them for fall. they smell amazing .

6. The best weekend includes quality time spent with the people you care about the most and at least one movie .

7. Today I am proud that davey boy shared another wonderful song of his for you to listen to. Enjoy. .

FILL IN THE BLANK FRIDAY. backtoschool

1. My favorite grade in school was probably sixth grade. I had a fun teacher and got to go on sweet field trips .

2. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Potter because, she was just so passionate about the kids she was teaching, and made you feel like you were here best friend. She even invited us to come for food on Halloween .

3. The highest level of education I have completed is a Bachelor's of arts in Advertising, emphasis: Advertising .

4. School lunches for me were usually homemade by me or "forgot my lunch" and called my mom for a happy meal.

5. The amount of money you'd have to pay me to go back to high school would be at least enough to buy a (NICE) house. I look at people in HS and am so glad i've grown out of that fun 4 year stage.

6. A few things that will always remind me of going back to school are: Some new clothes, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, Backpacks, new shoes .

7. The first day of school was always something I was always so excited for. I loved picking out an outfit, getting a new desk, etc .

2. With the political debates going on right now, my thoughts are let's #BelieveInAmerica... I think that Romney/Ryan are the best thing that could happen .

3. Today Dave is probably getting off early from work. I think that deserves a party.

4. The best thing I've cooked recently was shrimp tacos with peach-mango salsa.

5. The last thing I bought was a gift for a wedding shower.

1. My favorite thing to do on Friday is to stay up late with my husband. I can never keep him up past 11 during the week, so staying up late for no reason is such a treat .

2. This Friday I am deep cleaning-think baseboards, bathroom, and al that fun stuff. Later i think we'll either go out somewhere or hang out with our pals .

3. The best thing about a weekend is that we have lots of free time, usually eat really great food/treats, and get to relax .

4. Now that summer is almost over, I'm feeling a little excited, a little sad. I always look forward to summer, but i love fall clothes the most .

5. The best thing I did this summer was read the book of mormon. it was a goal and i'm so glad i did it .

6. The thing I'm looking forward to about fall is the clothes, the colors, the weather, the food...I love it all. Fall is my favorite season .

7. If I had to be stuck in one season for the rest of my life, I would choose probably right when the colors change during fall .

5. My go to uniform on a warm summer day is a cotton maxi and a v-neck.
