44 Monroe

44 Monroe is located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, a short distance from MANY major attractions, community gems, major employers, city buildings and, of course, the Phoenix light rail system.

At 34 stories tall, 44 Monroe is billed as Arizona’s tallest residential building. The views from these units are quite impressive, as is the building itself. The 8th floor is designed for residents to take advantage of many different amenities such as: A beautiful kitchen and bar area, fireplace, pool table, BBQ, swimming pool and spa, fitness center, conference room and business center, gorgeous patio area, and of course, beautiful city and mountain views.  The map and videos below will feature some of the many conveniences of 44 Monroe, but to truly get a feel for this area, you need to take a look at 44 Monroe for yourself. Just dial 602-803-6425 to see condos at 44 Monroe.

44 Monroe has quite an interesting history for being such a new face in the Phoenix real estate landscape. Kind of a poster child for the wild and crazy ride we had during the “booming” market of a few years past. Construction began in 2005 when just about any real estate was a “home run.” The former Arizona Bank Building, that occupied the space that is now 44 Monroe, was torn down for the 34 story building that was sure to be the next best thing. Heck, this was 2005. The pricing didn’t matter – people just wanted to buy real estate. By 2008, when construction was complete, there had been a change in market conditions, financing conditions, and in the supply / demand department. While potential owners and investors originally flocked to 44 Monroe with money in hand, the building had a 5% occupancy rate as of August 2009. ( source, Wikipedia )

Fast forward to 2010 and there is word of a “new beginning” for 44 Monroe.  After months of foreclosure talk and speculation, the building has a new lease on life with talk of “realistic” pricing for this beautiful building in the heart of downtown Phoenix.

Check out the area, the lifestyle and the building that seem to currently be one of the most “city-like” experiences available in downtown Phoenix. Heck, with an impressive “walk score” of 97 out of 100, you might just think you are living in a BIG city! 🙂

** Update: The developer has decided to change the condos at 44 Monroe into apartments. Leasing information should be available soon. **
