Lord, help me trust You in every difficulty. Remind me that I am never alone and that Your strength is always available to me. Use every trial to draw me closer to You. Amen.
Expect difficulties in life, because we live in a fallen world. Instead of always looking for a way around adversity, learn to see difficult moments as opportunities to draw closer to God.
Sometimes an easy life can cause us to forget how much we need Him. But God has placed His very life within us, giving us the strength to love, endure, and overcome through His power.
Whatever you are facing today, remember that you do not have to face it alone. God is with you, and His strength is greater than your weakness. Trust Him, depend on Him, and allow every difficulty to bring you closer to His heart.
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Isaiah 49:15-16
Go to the Lord for understanding, for He knows you far better then you know yourself. He understands every part of you, every thought, every wound, every hidden place within your heart. No detail of your life is ever hidden from Him.
He sees you through eyes of grace, so do not fear His intimate knowledge of you. Instead, open your heart to Him and allow the Light of His healing Presence to shine into the deepest recesses of your being.
Let His Light cleanse what is burdened, heal what has been wounded, refresh what has grown weary, and renew what has become weak.
Trust the Lord enough to receive the fullness of His forgiveness. You do not have to earn it. You do not have to hide from Him. His forgiveness is a precious gift, purchased at the cost of His own life, and offered to you for all eternity.
Forgiveness is at the very heart of His abiding Presence. When you feel broken, He is there. When you feel weary, He is there. When you cannot understand yourself, He understands you completely.
So rest in His grace. Rest in His forgiveness. Rest in His unfailing love.
For the Lord has promised: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
And His Presence will remain with you— cleansing, healing, refreshing, and renewing your soul.
Lord Jesus, when life becomes overwhelming and everything around me seems to be moving too quickly, help me remember that You are with me. Teach me to whisper Your Name and find strength in Your presence, even when I cannot stop to pray as I would like. Give me Your peace in the midst of the storm, and when the activity has passed, draw me into deeper fellowship with You. Help me trust You one moment at a time. Amen.
There are moments in life when everything seems to happen at once. Events whirl around us so quickly that we hardly have time to catch our breath. Responsibilities, worries, unexpected circumstances, and difficult decisions can leave us feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Yet even in the midst of the storm, the Lord is there.
We do not always have to stop everything around us before we can turn our hearts toward God. Sometimes all we can offer is a whispered prayer: “Jesus, help me.” Just speaking His Name can remind us that we are not alone. His presence does not depend upon how calm our circumstances are. He is with us in the middle of the maelstrom.
When we whisper His Name, we acknowledge that He is still in control. We may not understand what is happening, and we may not know what the next moment will bring, but we know the One who holds every moment in His hands. As we continue doing what needs to be done, we can draw strength from Him, finding a quiet peace that circumstances cannot take away.
There will be times when we need to speak with the Lord more fully—to pour out our hearts, share our fears, and listen for His direction. When the activity has settled and the storm has quieted, we can spend that precious time in deeper communion with Him.
But we don’t have to wait until everything is calm to pray.
Find the Lord in the midst of the maelstrom. Whisper His Name. Trust His presence. Lean upon His strength.
He is there—not only after the storm, but right in the middle of it.
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:16-19
In the early morning hours, I look for the Lord. I seek Him, praying that He will draw close to me.
I walk through the garden, where the morning dew still rests upon the grass and glistens gently upon the trees. And in my heart, I can truly envision that we can see one another.
I wave and call out, “Lord, here I am.”
We greet one another as old friends who have been apart, or as a child who is filled with joy to see their father once again.
But He is so much more— He is my Heavenly Father.
I do not need to clean myself up or try to act a certain way to prove that I am worthy of His love. My Heavenly Father looks beyond all my faults and sees only the daughter He created.
And we are filled with joy to see one another once again.
We sit together beside a quiet brook, and I simply share with Him all that is on my mind— my worries, my fears, my concerns and everything within my heart.
He never says a word. He simply listens as I speak.
Yet His loving eyes tell me everything: He understands.
And when His voice finally speaks to me, it is soft and gentle, and every word comes from love for me, His child.
I know our time together is short for now, but to me, that is okay.
Because I know that when a new day approaches, I can once again meet with my Lord— the One who is my Heavenly Father, the One who knows my heart, the One who walks beside me, and the One I am blessed to call my Friend.
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me into Your presence. Help me to treasure these quiet moments with You. When You awaken my heart, may I respond by drawing near rather than turning away. Renew my strength, fill me with Your peace, and deepen my desire to know You. Let Your presence guide me throughout this day, and help me remember that I am never alone because You are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
