Schools’ performances of Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank: A Midsummer Night’s Dream will take place in spring 2027. Applications for tickets open in September.

What is Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank?

Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank offers over 20,000 free-to-access tickets for pupils aged 11–16 at non-selective state secondary schools in London and Birmingham to watch a dynamic 90-minute Shakespeare production in London’s iconic Globe Theatre. 

The production is created especially for young people and is designed to help students from KS3 upwards as they build towards their GCSEs. 

The project also offers thousands of subsidised tickets for all other schools nationwide, plus CPD sessions, student workshops and free learning resources to help teachers and students get the most out of their visit to Shakespeare’s Globe.

Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank returns for its 21st year with a magical 90-minute production of Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream, playing in the Globe Theatre in spring 2027.

Applications for free-to-access tickets will be open from 7–28 September 2026.

Celebrating 21 years of Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank

We are delighted to be celebrating 21 years of the Shakespeare’s Globe’s flagship education programme for young people in 2026.

In that time, we have staged 463 performances, reaching 334,386 children with free tickets from London and Birmingham state secondary schools. A further 66,026 students have attended a Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank performance with subsidised tickets. The project has also delivered over 2,200 free-to-access workshops for almost 60,000 students and over 100 CPDs for 2,667 teachers across 537 schools.

We remain incredibly thankful to Deutsche Bank for their ongoing commitment to and advocacy for the Playing Shakespeare with Deutsche Bank project. Together, we continue to provide life-enhancing experiences for young people across the UK.
