Introducing Myself
Oooooh I hate this part! So since it is so very late, Iâll just say that Iâve had a journal at LiveJournal for about 15 years. So much has changed that I feel a bit safer here... and most of my LJ friends migrated here. It gripes me that I just paid a year membership there right before joining here, and I canât afford a year long membership here.
Hope I can pick u some knowledge about how DW works soon. I do have an account here from some years back but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called!
Ok. Getting sleepy ð¤ at last! Before I go, Iâll tell you that I am a night owl and have been such my whole life, starting early in life. âYou can take a child to bed and tuck him in, but you canât make him sleep!â, I always say. Well, first time I said it was just now but truth anyway. And I always get motivated and clear headed and charged up at about 10 or 11 PM. Ridiculous, I know, but whaddya gonna do?
Iâm 62, married to a 68 year old Englishman who moved to the USA to be where I lived when he was 50. Starting a new life at 50! Long story, but he is most impressive. I have 2 adult biological kids both at the 40 mark or almost there. I have an adopted intellectually disabled who I have loved and mothered since she was ready to leave the hospital after her birth, 31 years ago. She has come SO far, but does still live st home with us.
We have 2 black cats and one ginger one. All male. Two small dogs, a Chiweenie and a Shih tzu, both male. Two parakeets, one female and one male or trans.
I am disabled, confined primarily to a motorized wheelchair, but I love to go outside and âdriveâ on the country roads near our home, and shoot lots of pics of local wildlife such as deer (have seen one born in our back yard!), bear, skunk, turkey vultures, wild turkeys, herons, cranes, coyote, well, a bunch! And thatâs not even mentioning (but I am mentioning them) the gorgeous views of the oldest mountains on the earthâ views that change every 20 feet you drive. I used to be a psychotherapist - a grief and trauma resolution specialist- for over 30 years. Now I am focusing on creativity of all sorts.
We live in a tiny town in southwestern VA in the Appalachian Mountains, which is like being in a different country. Been here for 15 years, both of us were city slickers. It took a huge adjustment and cultural shock, but we love it here now.
Nice to meet youâ hope youâll let me know you dropped by!

Guess Iâll stay
Iâve been here so long that I canât bear the idea of buggering off. Just doesnât seem right. And having ads just twists my gut SO.... Iâve paid for another year.
Iâve been rather ill with various infections and one antibiotic after another. Iâm scared of having a superbug and nothing working.
Enough of that. Too depressing. Thought Iâd share some pics with you.
This is a recent Zentangle tile I started, along with my favorite fountain pens. I collect them and probably have between 25-30, but thatâs a guess. Some are 40+ years old (and I am the only owner!) and some are from this year. I love them and only write with them. Lots of different inks, too.
The following pics are of me...a candid shot taken of me in my ophthalmologistâs waiting room. I just had cataract surgery on my left eye.
The following one is of
crazed_sage, my daughter, and her dog (my granddog- he knows me as gramma) Marley.
The last one is of my huge 20 lb ginger tabby, George. He just turned two in the spring.

I know that there is a way to shorten the post in my Flistâs feeds but things have changed and Iâm lost.
Back soon,
Kat

Iâm aghast!
I just discovered that my tweets are being posted here ð³
I had no idea! And have no idea how to stop this connection.
Sorry for being so shallow.
