I asked my cute neighbor and friend if she would take our family pictures a few weeks ago and I couldn't be more happy with them. I think she did a great job!!

The Knolls

Our friends invited us to go with their family out to the knolls. The kids had a blast!!Garrett took his little 4-wheeler and as long as he didn't get into to deep of sand he could just go and go! Justin also got to ride the blue 4-wheeler which he thought he was pretty cool riding the big 4-wheeler where ever he wanted. We did have one mishap though. It scared Garret pretty bad when his 4-wheeler just kept going and no matter how much he pushed on the brake he could not make it stop, he finally got stuck in the sand in front of a sage brush. Mike was getting ready to yell at him for driving to crazy when he got off crying and Mike discovered that the throttle was stuck open. It scared him pretty bad. He did start driving a little more cautious after that.

I think Mike was the biggest kid of all he was always off playing somewhere.

Summer Fun

This Summer we took a little family vacation and went to visit Uncle Tom, Aunt Kari, and Raymond we had a blast. Justin and Garrett loved the canoe in the pond and even swimming in it.

We took a little trip to their cabin and spent a few nights. Did a little hiking and fishing. Tom was pretty patient with Justin as he was pretty much glued to his side the whole trip. Both boys caught some fish. Nothing to big so we threw them back.

After we got back from the cabin we got to go explore Mesa Verde. It was so hot but me made the most of it and had a great time checking out the ruins and dwellings. The tour we took of The Balcony House was pretty cool. I didn't know how Justin was going to handle it because of the heights, but he was a trooper and did great. I have to admit that it was pretty high and with not very much that would keep you from falling.

We had a great time the boys love hanging with Raymon and we really apprecite Tom and Kari for letting us come down and visit.

Kindergarten

My baby started kindergarten today!! He was sooooo excited to start he ended up in afternoon class and I think he started asking me when it was time to go at about 10. He could hardly wait.

We rode bikes down to the school so that he can ride home with Justin, who is also very excited to have Garrett ride home with him. I hope he has a great day! I can hardly wait to hear all about it!!

4th Grade

I can hardly believe that Justin is old enough to be in Fourth Grade. He was not very excited to start school. He got a great teacher who he seem to like. He came home the first day and told me that his teacher call him "broken Justin" because of his broken arm. I think he likes the extra little attention. (I guess there are some benefits to starting school with a broken arm.) He also told me that she pays them with moose bucks for turning in their homework and at the end of each month they have to pay rent on their desks and chairs. What a great way to teach them some responsibility.

Hopefully it is a great year for him!

Summer Fun

Justin and Garrett have been talking about going crawdad fishing all summer. We have been putting off going because of the water being so high this year, it is not great when the water is high because of all the sage brush and grass. We finally took the kid and they had a blast. Garrett finally go into crawdad fishing but he also loved casting his fishing pole into the water with sponge bob on the end. We talked Kellie and Wes into going with us and we had a great time.

Little Buckaroo Rodeo

Garrett has been talking all summer about how he was going to ride a sheep again this year because he really did have fun last year. When the moment arrived his did not want to get on that sheep for no one. Mike and I finally talked him into getting on and then I didn't get a picture of it. Oh well maybe next year. However I did get these cute pictures of him doing the stick horse barrels.

Justin has been practicing all summer on his Grandpa's horse so that he could ride in the Little Buckaroo Rodeo in Coalville again this year. He had just started in the arena to take his turn running the barrels instead of heading to the barrel on the right he for some reason started to head to the left barrel, just as he was starting to go around the barrel the horse realized that they were going the wrong way and took off for the other barrel. Justin was still going left and the horse was going right he did not stay in the saddle!

This is the result!!!

He doesn't hate it to bad as you can see by the smile on his face...he really does love to just sit and watch TV so this is the ideal situation for him!!!

July 4th

We went with Jen and the kids to the Oakley 4th of July parade and then after we took a drive up Mirror Lake. I can not believe how much snow if still up there. Mirror Lake is still frozen and the snow is at least 6 - 8 feet deep. The kids did have a great time at the parade even though it was a little cold and rainy.

Yellowstone

The last and final stop on our road trip was a few days in Yellowstone. I really wanted to see a bear. We have been to Yellowstone a few times and have yet to see a bear. We kind of made it a quest to see if we could find one.

The boys were so nice to each other I think almost every photo we have of them they are hugging each other.

We had to take a picture of this elk it was pretty big.

I thought we were going to die trying to get a picture of this waterfall. The wind was blowing so hard I could not even open the car door. I was wondering if we were going to get blown off the cliff.

A few pictures in Mammoth.

This was one of my favorite places. I think this is called the Dragons Mouth it is pretty cool how it is bubbling out of the hill side.

We just happened to be vacationing at the same time and in the same place with the Ball's we met up with them a couple of times for dinner and we also just happened to meet a couple of times when we were exploring the park. It was so fun to see and spend time with someone that you know while on vacation. The kids loved it also.

And we finally seen the bear that I had been searching for the whole trip. I loved it however, I know they are bears and very dangerous but the park ranger were always there ushering people away. We were having a hard time getting a good picture.

We had a great trip. We seen some awesome things made some great memories and enjoyed being together as a family. We are also grateful that Grandma was able to come with us.

Yellowstone's Bear World

Yellowstone's Bear World was our next stop on our road trip. This is one of my personal favorite places. I love bears so to see them up close and watch them is pretty cool. Of coarse the kids loved it also.

These are some of the baby bears that they let people feed. I am pretty cheap so we did not get to feed them but they are sure cute! It was fun watching them play with each other.

Justin does not really measure up to a grizzly bear.

Last time we were at bear world (before Garrett was even born) this moose was a baby in their petting zoo. It was fun to see how much it has grown.

We did get a chance to feed the bear on their big truck. The kids had a blast with this. It was fun to see the bears sit like a dog so that you would throw it some bread.

The kids had a blast at bear world. We drove through about 6 times. What a fun place to visit.

Craters of the Moon

We took a little road trip with Grandma. Our first stop was Craters of the moon. It was a really long drive to get there but once there the kids loved it. Mike, myself and grandma also thought it was pretty cool.

Garrett thought he was pretty cool that he could pick up the rocks.

We hike through a few caves. A few of them got pretty dark we really did need the head lamps and flashlights.

What a neat place to visit!

The Happiest Place on Earth!

I love this picture of Garrett with Minnie. It is not his favorite picture he looks at it now and because Minnie wears a dress it is to girly he doesn't love it. I love the way he gave her a big hug. I think it is so cute!

We got to see the Disney Street Parade on Tuesday night. It was freezing but the kids had a great time they both got to go out on the street and dance with the Characters with little drums! They loved it!

Buzz Light year was a favorite. We kept missing him by just a little bit but finally we were able to get pictures with him!

Last time we went to Disneyland Justin wouldn't get up and do the Jedi Training. Before we even left for Disneyland this time he told us that he wanted to do it. He was so excited. He was ready and he made sure he did everything he could to get picked. They picked Justin and when Justin got up to go do it Garrett got right up and followed Justin. They were pretty quick to tell Garrett the he was not one of the ones they had picked. Garrett of coarse started to cry the guy that was picking the kids saw that he was crying and took pity on him and let him go join too.

He was having a few problems activating the light saber!

Fighting Darth Maul!

They both did a great job and loved it!
We also got to see the Christmas parade and Santa while we were there. The kids had a pretty good talk with Santa. The kids loved finding the Characters and getting their autographs and pictures taken with them.

We had a lot of fun this time in California Adventure. Justin's new favorite ride is the Screamin California. Garrett loved the Toy Story Mania ride.

The Green Army men that were always with Woody and Jessie were so funny. They cracked me up. I want to know how they got their faces so green.

Garrett loved the "It's tough to be a bug" movie.

McQueen and Mator were a favorite of coarse.

We finally found Donald Duck. Every time we go to Disneyland Donald is no where to be found! The kids were pretty excited!

Justin did not want his picture take with Mulan(because she is a girl) and Mushu. I won that fight!

The World of Color light show was amazing. I think it was one of my favorite things about the whole trip!

We had a great time! Mike is already planning to go back in 2012 when they have the new "Cars" radiator springs open in California Adventure!

Lego Land

We had a good time in Lego Land! Garrett loved it, he was in heaven! It amazes me how much stuff they have built out of Lego's.

This Giraffe was huge! It was probably my favorite thing in the park.

Sea World

In Sea World first thing we went and rode the Journey to Atlantis ride. Mike got soaked! The kids loved it! We seen the dolphin show, the otter and sea lion show and the Shamu show that kids loved them all!

The kids thought this otter was pretty cute!

Garrett thought that the star fish were pretty cool to touch and there was no way Justin was going to touch them until he seen that Garrett was doing it and then I guess he thought it would be ok if he did it to!

This ride is just like the tea cups in Disneyland except Mike got it spinning so fast the boys could not keep there heads upright and it made Grandma more that a little sick! She was pretty green when we got off but the boys loved it and wanted to go again!

California here we come!

The kids were so excited for our trip to California especially Justin! I don't think Garrett really remembered much about our last trip, he just new that Justin was super excited so he may as well be excited as well! The both we so excited to fly!

When we got to California we drove straight to San Diego, checked into our hotel and went to check out the beach! All we found were huge cliffs and the ocean! Amazing views but not very easy for the kids to play in the ocean.

After leaving the ocean we left the kids with my dad swimming and Mike, my mom, and I headed to the San Diego Temple! Amazing! I love how each temple is so unique. One of the temple workers found out we were from Utah and he was happy to give us a little tour of the temple.

Halloweens Happenings

Justin loves to carve pumpkins, at least the carving part! He hates to touch the "guts" inside he has never liked to get his hands dirty so for him to reach into the pumpkin and get the guts out is out of the question.

Garrett didn't really care if his pumpkin got carved or not he helped Mike for a minute then he was done. He would much rather play with his toys than carve a pumpkin!

I didn't even get a picture of the finished product!

We had the ward trunk or treat on the 30th and then on the 31st we went trick or treating at both of our families houses! The kids had a blast!

Justin was the Transformer Bumble Bee and Garrett was Spider Man! They both got a ton of candy and had a great time doing it!

Preschool Happenings

Garrett's cute preschool teacher told the kids the story of the little red hen then, they baked their own little loaves of bread. Garrett was so excited to come home and show Mike and I his very own bread. He was not about to share either!

Garrett's preschool class went on a little trip to the fire station! Garrett loved it! He learned what he needs to do in case of a fire and he got to even spray the fire hose!

They had a cute little Halloween program. They sang and had a little parade! All of the kids looked so cute!

Garrett loves preschool! He loves his teacher and he loves seeing all of his friends!

Preschool

Garrett started Preschool today! It is had to believe my baby is in Preschool but, he is and he was so excited to go. It starts at 10 and at 9 he was dressed with his shoes and his backpack on and he was sitting on the couch asking me if it was time to go. He could hardly wait!

COP CARS

What little boy is not curious about a cop car? Today Garrett was at the shop hanging out with Mike while I was doing a few things. They are currently fixing a Highway Patrol Car. Garrett asked Mike if he could look inside, so Mike opened the door so that Garrett could check out all of the cool buttons and gadgets inside. Then he wanted to know why the backseat was caged in. Mike explained to him why and asked him if he wanted to see inside it. Garrett's answer was no! Garrett went off to play and Mike went back to work. A short time later Scott the guy Mike works with asked Mike where Garrett was as they proceeded to look for him Scott was walking past the cop car and he heard a knock coming from the window. Garrett was obviously still curious and had opened the door and shut it and was locked inside "the cage". He was pretty disturbed. When he got home and was telling me his only comment was "I do not want to ever go in a cop car again." The next day when we were riding our bikes to the school there was a cop car watching for speeders in the school zone he went on and on about how he did not ever want to go in a cop car again. (side note the cop car was in the shop not out in the summer heat)

3rd Grade

I am so sad to see that summer is over! Justin is officially a third grader, he is growing up so fast, it makes me a little sad. But he is such a great kid! He is so excited to start school this year because he got Mr. MaWhinney they do so many fun things like the Disney Program! I am sure he will have a great year! Garrett and I will sure miss you while you are at school this year!

LITTLE BUCKAROO'S

Last year when we were helping at the little Buckaroo Rodeo, Mike and Justin had a little conversation that the kids that were riding in it were about his age. After the rodeo Justin told me that he wanted to ride a horse next year. I thought that he would forget all about it... He remembered and so we talked to my dad about a horse for him to ride. I was really nervous about him being on a horse by himself but he did a great job and he loves it! Before riding in the rodeo he had only been riding by himself about five or six times and the horse he was riding was young and had not done the Barrels or the Poles. I am so proud of him!

This is how Garrett and Mike spent there time!

The Little Buckaroo is a two night event. The first night the kids ride there horses and the second night is the main show. Garrett got to ride a sheep and a stick horse in the main show(I guess I should not say got to ride a sheep it was more like I forced him to ride a sheep but after he was so excited that he did it and didn't even cry!)

The kids had a great time in the Rodeo! Fair time is one of their favorite times of the year!

Fourth of July Celebrations

This year for the Fourth we went to the parade in Oakley. We had a good time! After the Parade we went Geo Caching up Mirror Lake we stopped at the Provo River Falls. We had a good day!

This was my favorite parade entry! I loved that the horse was wearing clown pants with suspenders!

Mike walked across the river at Provo River falls. We went for a drive up there about the end of May(I forgot my camera that day) spring run off was so high it was amazing to see the difference!

The kids found this Geo Cache! They get so excited to see what is in them and what they are going to take.

This is the Place Heritage Park

On Wednesdays the Heritage Park's Admission is only $2.00 I thought I would take advantage of the price and take the kids down. Justin had a great time he was so excited to do each of the activities. Garrett not so much he was being shy when the pioneer people tried to talk to him. It was a great day!

Justin loved this little string toy. It is made to imitate milking a cow. He was actually pretty good at it.

He finally talked Garrett into doing it with him.

Justin loved this game. You throw the bean bag from one side of the can and turn the stick and try to catch it with the other side!

This string game was Garrett's favorite!

Each of them got to wash laundry on a board and hang it out to dry! Justin love beating the rug to get the dirt and dust out of it!

We seen a few baby bunnies. They boys are trying chase it!

Justin got an old fashion shave. We couldn't talk Garrett into sitting in the chair for one.

They did sit in the school house for a while and listen to the teacher try to teach them the alphabet!

They got to dip candles Garrett didn't want anything to do with it!

We had a good time it was fun to let the kids see some of the things the pioneers did!

Stewart Falls

We decide to hike to Stewart Falls for family night. Amazing!!! We have never been there before it was so pretty and the boys did great! We had a great time!
