So a number of years ago I started making appointments with myself. I used that time for reading usually. Then, if someone calls and says, "Can I see you Tuesday at 3:00?" I can say, "sorry, I already have an appointment then," even if it's with myself. And you know what? No one questions your almighty calendar!! It's like the thing is sacred! So use the Almighty Calendar, as you do.papa stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10942859548597169402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18149076.post-47948400553738820692014-06-29T14:09:31.646-06:002014-06-29T14:09:31.646-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.papa stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10942859548597169402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18149076.post-29035408473469882792014-06-29T04:37:56.714-06:002014-06-29T04:37:56.714-06:00I found this really inspiring! I love the notebook idea and will be carrying one of the many I have (for some reason there's some random clock on most of them) with me at all times to jot down quick thoughts or more :-) I also am going to start scheduling things that are important to me that are getting missed because I seem to love sabotaging myself. Of course, I'd probably get distracted from writing down my distractions and have to keep another notebook on what distracts me from writing down what distracts me from writing...

And I'm glad to hear you're finally getting some writing done. Looking forward to whatever this newfound writing time of yours concocts. Both are from TV shows, however, not literature.

The TV spy thriller/comedy "Chuck" is a great example of a terrible ending. **Spoiler Alert** The whole point of Chuck is for Chuck and Sarah to end up together. And about halfway through the show they do get together. But in the final season, Sarah has her memory wiped and forgets her love for Chuck. Which was fine, so long as the she gets her memories back by the end. Only... she didn't. The entire series ends on the question of whether or not she will ever remember her love for Chuck. Worst. Ending. EVER.

A better ending to a series was for the detective/comedy series "Psych". Now, Psych is a great show, funny, interesting, worth watching. However, the final season got really bad, and not funny at all. In fact, it was so bad that I nearly didn't watch the last episode. But since it was the last one ever, I gave it a shot. SO worth it. Despite the bad writing of the past season, the show manages to wrap up all loose ends, have the characters who are supposed to be together, together, and, even though it's not a happy ending for everyone, there's closure for everyone and it ends on an optimistic note of hope for the future. Beautifully done.

Unlike Chuck, Psych manages to fulfill every promise it made over eight seasons of story.

That's how you do it right.Josh Morreyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07554437528656081132noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18149076.post-24706924250878602412014-02-24T16:48:00.148-07:002014-02-24T16:48:00.148-07:00How about How will I know who I am if I don't ...How about How will I know who I am if I don't write?Hillaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03633666101340333447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18149076.post-5650696715652150552014-02-20T02:16:27.260-07:002014-02-20T02:16:27.260-07:00Josh, I'm definitely not claiming brilliance i...Josh, I'm definitely not claiming brilliance in anything so far either, but the potential is there in all of us. What I can remember from dreams I've had, that also serves as some inspiration, though that's a bit cliche. One thing that gives me inspiration though is other peoples' work. Be it an idea or a story or whatever, sometime I'll see something and just think, '....I could do that idea better.' Now the inspiration to follow up and write anything, that's more difficult :P Kinda has to be the 'perfect storm' for me to attempt to write out any ideas. Gotta have an idea I love, then I gotta have just enough alcohol that I'm sure of myself, then I can write. So I guess another inspiration of mine is moderate alcohol :PA clever namehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10744580597287162816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18149076.post-55259279885648208182013-03-01T22:17:32.019-07:002013-03-01T22:17:32.019-07:00Haha!
