8 days off

the kids thought it was the best few weeks ever to get 8 days off of school.

the whole hood came out to play.

the kids were in and out as much as they could handle to play together.

It was hard to pick the favorite highlights of this fab trip. It was chilly but the kids had a great time!

A few of the favs

the kids love love loved playing kissing a petting dolphins. I mean does it get any better?

poor ems was a bit small for this one so she got stuck hanging.

beach time. even if the water is chilly- the sun was shining and there

is something so magical about playing on the beach.

we took a special boat excursion to a private part of the island for the dolphins and beach time

our boat. its big!

hanging in the holes. we couldn't hang here long. watching the water made us a

bit sea sick :) but it was too fun to pass up

we rented bikes and did our own bike tour.

loved this! the whole crew had so much fun.

the kids also loved the game rooms and kids rooms.

there was a super fun room they could check into to play. it took a while for us to

convince them to go- and then they couldn't believe they didn't get to play there more.

next time

and everyone loved the fun dinners especially pirate night.

there were way to many "arrrrs" going on that night. After dinner we got to catch

a disney musical which was so much fun. everyone loved the shows

we had joined a crew of fun friends for a day of skating.

The kids sure have a great time on christmas break.

the kids opened their christmas eve jammies (which i think is bradens favorite)

and were tucked into bed

and loved their chistmas morning goodies. well except emory. she couldn't

decide if this was fun or not.

christmas is just so fun with kids. the excitement the joy the fun. all of it!

and you realize these little people grow up

and one day they won't want to snuggle up for a nap.

We had to make sure and cram as much fun in-between school and all of our activities

while nana and papa were in town

so there was cookie baking

and building christmas trains and villages

nana and papa came for a visit so we took them to our favorite

christmas light display. It has a fun train to take you into a christmas village

complete with a crazy goat who hangs out on a horse, santa and a bonfire.

uncle tyler came into town for thanksgiving-

and there is always fun to be had when he is around.

so we drug him with us to buy our christmas tree.

but so grateful to have a family away from home.

teresa and rich had us and merideth and jim and crew

over for turkey day. the kids had a blast together and we love these families.

it kind of breaks our heart every time we move and leave friends.

somehow i get to be lucky enough to be the young women's president to this

amazing group of girls. they truly are one special each in their own way.

living in NC and being one of the only ones in their schools that is lds is hard

but they do it with such strength and are an example to me.

we rolled out the red carpet for their yw evening of excellence…. because they

are red carpet worthy

veterans day

Veterans Day is huge at overhills

there is such a huge military presence that it is a special holiday for the area.

A few years ago the school started doing a veterans day parade and it has just grown.

each class is in charge of a "float" and a few kids get to walk in the the parade.

Since i am ever so lucky/ unlucky to get to help make the floats my kids get to walk.

this makes me proud- proud to be in a military community, proud of my kids for learning the sacrifices

families/ military make, and proud of their school for making this happen.

these to besties kam and cam decided that if they were going to walk together

they needed full twiners. so dang cute together
