Bennett-8 months

Bennett loves to sit in this position. He is also crawling all over the place. If you aren't in the same room as him he will crawl to find you. Transitioning to 2-3 nap schedule and then bedtime at 8 or 9 at night. Had him start crying it out at night (so hard on mom) but it only took 2 nights of crying a long time, and then it went down to 20 min and eventually went to sleep when we laid him down. Just started standing up to things. Just got a new room in our laundry room so that we could work on crying it out and not wake up his sister at the same time. Loves to babble and spit while vibrating between his lips.

16 lbs and 25 3/4 in.

General Conference

I am so gratful for the time when General Conference comes around. (bytheway this picture is a little deceiving on how my kids were for all of conference) :) In between sessions on Sunday we went for a walk around a park. It was a beautiful day outside. It was one of those great days where we didn't have anything we had to do but watch and enjoy conference and enjoy being together as a family. I am so grateful for my husband and kids, and also for the gospel in my life.

What life is like for this guy:

takes 3 naps, scooting forward alot, has crawled a few steps, sits alone very well, loves puffed grain snacks, just starting a sippy cup with water, loves his food mesher with grapes, ice or peaches in it.

Labor Day we headed to Raging Waters in Bismarck with a few other families to spend the day there. We had tons of fun! We also went to a little theme park that had perfect little rides for Mylee. Kevin and I played a unique basketball game where you had to shoot on all these different designed hoops from 3 different spots and then depending if you made the basket or not you got a certain amount of points. It was a fun day in the sun!

We had fun going 4 wheeling and riding motorcycles with our friends the Hughes. I rode the smaller motorcycle and it was so fun. I didn't think it would be that fun to ride but I loved it. I had a hard time stopping it a couple times but didn't wreck thankfully. When Kevin was riding the bigger motorcycle he was going up a hill and (not sure if by accident) but popped a wheely and almost had a bad wreck. So glad he didn't!! It was a fun Saturday!

Rice cereal

Bennett trying rice cereal for the first time at 5 months. He didn't seem to like it the first month or so but I would keep offering it to him every once in a while. I remember Mylee eating it and loving it from the very beginning so that is what I expected with Bennett.

How is he already 5 months. Time flies!!

Our little Bennett is such a sweet boy! Lately he has been starting to try and scoot forward. He will get up on his tippy toes while on his tummy and create a bridge with his head and feet. It is pretty funny. He is a grunter lately too. His smiles still melt my heart, there is something about a little baby smiling. So adorable! He still eats about every 3 hrs. He gets up 1-2 times each night. :( Mylee slept through the night at 5 wks old so I am hoping he will one day SOON sleep through the night. I am thinking that maybe he isn't getting fed quite enough at each feeding so maybe if I start supplementing and adding in rice cereal/veggies/fruits that maybe he will sleep better at night with a fuller stomach. We shall see, always a guessing game. Also he has had rice cereal a few times and the other night he had peas with it. I am sure we will start eating it regularly soon! The few times he has had it he doesn't eat much of it before he is spitting it out. He is loving his litte toys and it is so cute to watch him try and figure out how to play with them and grab at them.

Waterpark

We went to the waterpark in Bismarck. We played in the kid pool, went in the lazy river, and then Kevin and I would take turns going on the slides while one would stay with the kids. It was a fun day in the sun!

Zoo

We went to the zoo in Bismarck with some friends. Mylee had lots of fun. She loved the monkeys, the tiger that got really close to the glass window by all the kids, and also a bear. The day we went it was very hot and VERY humid, but we had fun. We finished the day with ice cream at Coldstone.

Swimming

This summer we have had fun going swimming many times. Mylee loves the water. She has been in lessons twice this summer and is really getting comfortable in the water. One day I was with her in the water and she decided to go under water and stayed under for almost 10 seconds. Then we worked on her front float, and she did that all by herself. I was so excited for her! Hopefully she starts swimming soon! :)

Swim Lessons

I decided to put Mylee in swim lessons at our rec center. She loved it! She got to go down the slide which she thought was so fun. By the end she was a lot more brave and could go under water for '3 fishies.'

This is a favorite activity of ours lately. In the evenings we have been going on many bike rides.

Kevin started making a swing set for Mylee. We tried finding swings but couldn't find any in our town, so later that night Kevin made a swing. It works great for now. :)

Mylee had so much fun on their farm. Kevin drove this tractor when he was a boy.

Idaho-Part 3

McCall

Hymas Family Reunion-We had our first official family reunion for my side of the family this year. For a while we all lived near Boise, so we saw each other often, but now since most of us have moved away we don't get to see each other much. So it was so fun to get together for this reunion. We spent the weekend before the 4th of July up in McCall. We had fun at the lake jet skiing, playing different tennis games that my sil Hadley lead up, going to the ice cream alley, a walk through downtown McCall, and of course fun conversations, and good food.

My camera's battery died on this trip so I didn't really get pictures. Mylee did go on her first jet ski ride. She had fun but after about 1 minute she was ready to go back in.

At the beginning of June Bennett learned to roll over onto his tummy. He has also rolled from his back to tummy, and then rolled to his back again. He likes to pull his binky out, but still trying to figure out how to get it back in. He likes to play with his tosy. When he smiles he opens his mouth really wide. So cute! Loves to laugh when his sister jumps on her bed or on the tramp. For some reason he thinks it is so funny!

Dairy Days Parade

We went with Nick and Jen (my cousin) and her family, as well as my mom. Mylee got sooo much candy. The adults also liked it because they handed out string cheese, otter pops, TCBY samples, and chocolate milk. We felt like we were eating the entire parade. :)

My family was altogether one day to celebrate my dads birthday. Here are the adults staying dry in the rain.

While in Idaho it was my dad's birthday and Father's Day. I am so grateful for my dad and for his example in my life! I am glad I was able to be there for both celebrations!

getting settled

Our new home. We had about 1 week to move in before I left for Idaho with both kids and my mom to spend the month there. My mom was a lifesaver, in helping us move in, holding Bennett so I could unpack, and also helping with the 'long drive' to Idaho. Mylee calls the freeway 'long drive' and it all started with our trips to Idaho and back. :) Our new home is 2 bedrooms and 1 bath so we feel a little tight for space but other than that we really like it, and we love our backyard.
