Here is a video of her putting her reading skills to work. Avery is only 3 years old and already trying to read! She amazes me everyday!

They are pretty adorable. Avery was so into trick or treating this year. We went around the neighborhood with some friends and Avery loved running along to every house. Mason was content being pushed in the stroller and every few houses would get out and get some candy. These kids were troopers. They brought in so much candy. I think Avery ate the last piece of candy yesterday! </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZXIy6ODoDFCU7_847hyphenhyphenByLaEQsSRx6rZEBbC-R1ejo_C_fQSFlc06zRLfodJw7-xkUqhEFHpUxyfYzf0GDt_yHne1ncF2_2Y499zqzzhL2Dar-cMvRg7avBcpL6QgpzScHS6gmZsPSCY/s1600-h/P10408536.jpg"><img title="P1040853" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="P1040853" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-2GkW5gpx89Q/URvzAEe8S1I/AAAAAAAABmI/Y2vhDSe3cZk/P1040853_thumb6.jpg?imgmax=800" width="401" height="401" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFC9HxHPb8joB_22ssSht3C2q6JmFBf5DfqmjxQHpjwYCRajhyphenhyphenM1JN_Fsewb0KS21yNIxsk4YYtWuHeiYKfYSpuzN2YcMR1YL44fjoyIuIRYROR5QWok0kC173PDM-c-NaqBsEuppwHY4/s1600-h/P10408556.jpg"><img title="P1040855" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="P1040855" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-1l4FdDuide4/URvzCChom-I/AAAAAAAABmY/Ep9pT0uOUfw/P1040855_thumb6.jpg?imgmax=800" width="408" height="406" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh400ARIMp29XaT21SET8ulO3oIyCCVqF3UoKAecIDDMKtBb5bwr5-9i3xAcxq-PtyebUAvCXdSW0l2NfN2uy0yvyHKnsDi4cFVzR9kvHWe1XWhB8KtSb5vJkYuSiyluA6VQ-4O26HAtKg/s1600-h/P10408565.jpg"><img title="P1040856" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="P1040856" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-d5t55mq8mPw/URvzEe30fPI/AAAAAAAABmo/YcADSHcrXsQ/P1040856_thumb5.jpg?imgmax=800" width="382" height="512" /></a></p> <p>We were in Utah a few days before Halloween so the kids got to go to a party with a few of their cousins. It is always so nice for the kids to see their cousins. Avery is always asking when we can go to Utah to play with her cousins. We went to a splashpad while we were there the first time. The kids loved playing in the water. In October we actually stayed quite awhile longer then expected because my back went out. While I was stuck in the same position on the couch for a week the kids enjoyed playing in the snow. On the 10 hour drive home Avery kept saying can’t we just go to Reeds house instead. She loves the time she gets to spend with her cousins!</p> <p>July—swimsuits and water</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3ZNwB-r1uLecWd0k57MQG-vCeLtHH_-M6Uw5sHRre7SpvZR7zFsBMIPJUJcu_b00Fx9FgyymsA9yRSFnUpa6Uoiry-Iy8bMY4Ig5DwFWETgM-F0JnbvORwyYnRxlaY-cgtRUCwBP0Aqs/s1600-h/P10406544.jpg"><img title="P1040654" style="border-left-width: 0px; He started going to nursery in December and that was all fine and dandy because Avery was in his class. Then January hit and Avery went to primary and Mason was left in nursery......alone. He has now become the screamer in the class. He cries and cries and cries. I am hoping he gets used to it soon. Levi went with him last Sunday and he did well with Dad in there. During snack time in nursery all the kids get a tiny cup of water and a few snacks like ritz crackers, goldfish, or veggie straws. Mason started taking his veggie straws and dipping them in his water like it was a fry and ketchup. Then he proceeded to do it with all his other snacks. I guess he started a new trend, before snack time was over all the kids were dipping their snacks in their water....Oops!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDcHH6k9WyIyUuv62wSpAhGktltnrtyOjNid2hVr8KuIEFK8x0asFJQRHfUHst0EX2agSCresjSxqTdVwpABv48SEuuCArv74YA_eSouzqBqoAQD_tjJlPDhfYMKqAK8PLOn39eGsBW4o/s1600-h/P10409266.jpg"><img title="P1040926" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="P1040926" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Tbtgh8EVk2c/URAIzHyiFYI/AAAAAAAABhA/W5_uXtAjH9s/P1040926_thumb6.jpg?imgmax=800" width="401" height="381" /></a></p> <p>Mason is just a fun loving kid. He is always smiling and playing around. He has started to tease Avery and he thinks it is pretty funny. He loves to tackle her when she is least expecting it.  Mason loves to get dirty. He loves to go to the park, play in the sand, go for wagon rides, and loves to do pretty much whatever Avery is doing. The last blog was from a trip back in June. So much has happened since then so I thought I would just do a little catch up each day or so to get back on track. Lets start with Avery.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKmdDNtEbHPca1hOEScaSqDzrTG9K77MGgGpN4xe-Lv_Xp7U8NxUAHOTnGnpCBeY0kCexDerwWtU29_YTpTz78AQctp5gXBRi6dEeVn1CQsa4KGbdMqtc0hzJaH7sz9rWJtNcfvJOD5bY/s1600-h/P10405635.jpg"><img title="P1040563" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="P1040563" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-cBjdNbl2IDQ/UQ7f6t2uJHI/AAAAAAAABaQ/REJi2S_vy6Y/P1040563_thumb6.jpg?imgmax=800" width="361" height="535" /></a> <br /><img class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-giftwithabow" style="border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none" alt="Gift with a bow" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-Sqof7GtkdUg/UQ7f7AeAQXI/AAAAAAAABaY/OzOc5aqfd-I/wlEmoticon-giftwithabow2.png?imgmax=800" />Avery turned 3 back in July and we had a great birthday bash at our house. Several of our friends came over to celebrate with us. The kids had fun playing in the backyard with bubbles, running through the sprinkler, and playing in the little blue pool.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixa6BdJoX21u02RJ2ePyzRWBreel1edHhZYcl2Zy-RlUH46kHPfzlpfQJ9V-3q3S5Y4sc6Quwcb1xCpJkkoyDH9MFQCaBG5KU0ICu_HY8NA_ayZCNZ2JtSlSxZUP5KBX6pgxDQTd4qE8Y/s1600-h/P10405274.jpg"><img title="P1040527" style="border-left-width: 0px; She can write all her ABC’s. She knows the sound for each letter. She has started sounding out words. Avery knows her address and she is learning her phone number now. She can spell plenty of words like Avery, mom, dad, boots, bat, boo, and stop.</p> <p><img class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-schoolbus" style="border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none" alt="School bus" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-fQa38_Ag2KQ/UQ7gJ2OVklI/AAAAAAAABc4/AY6IB4fmxc8/wlEmoticon-schoolbus2.png?imgmax=800" />Back in October they went on a field trip to Schnepf Farms. Mason and I tagged along for the adventure. The kids went on so many fun rides. They have a roller coaster there and I asked Avery if she wanted to go on it. She said yes but I don’t think she knew what she was getting herself into. I couldn’t go on it with her because I had Mason with me. I had her sit by a girl that lives by us but is a few years older than Avery. I waited at the bottom of the first drop and Avery looked terrified along with her friend. I don’t know if you can tell by the picture but she was so scared! At least she didn’t cry!  I just thought to myself at least it only goes around once, boy was I wrong they went around 3 times! Poor girl. I asked her if she wanted to go again and she said NO WAY! We also got to pick out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAGVDIlb8Ybb84Sj2QW2SWG78_cH2BbnqToIx-T3mCR2iFygYWHpkunWELdvCMvNsBdcb7yjcUb0fW_ZK0fK9sPFF4KaB0sTkNOz78IvUHzdMGqkKo0x7-CriLINETZPTXOmf7rlGpkVQ/s1600-h/P10407996.jpg"><img title="P1040799" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="P1040799" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-unGr9OUq5Us/UQ7gLi36heI/AAAAAAAABdI/OZZf5IXIa6s/P1040799_thumb6.jpg?imgmax=800" width="392" height="354" /></a></p> <p>Happy and smiling at the beginning. It has been so much fun to watch her learn new things each week. She comes home and practices all her new moves. Mason likes to join in sometimes.</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDoJUZgOcxUA6ME1rzSrpzLPU8t7R11QwwZ30P441XpgOw3EuiD-QrqbctFZbs5GR0LkzrwT9KVDqBzHaxCFf_51zfedE7sVs5sZ026ffELut7Ni_lITBIxBVToN5t6pTqSxQs2CEtKUw/s1600-h/P10409915.jpg"><img title="P1040991" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="P1040991" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-SK3pto-5ULA/UQ7g7vTzNeI/AAAAAAAABfw/sZcOq2dGT2I/P1040991_thumb7.jpg?imgmax=800" width="334" height="535" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoZuHzLzS0Ygy9-wRc9htkrM47cg5-aGpbBrGpp33_bUsTguJtQluViyz2LxTdwYUU8zwgEgRZrhvvIFWtJDpz5zfjf47IUDvmmlZ8S1_Jmj0j3gitVGDptiHVEBI2Iq-WNQ7U-Zaxls0/s1600-h/P10409929.jpg"><img title="P1040992" style="border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-top-width: 0px" border="0" alt="P1040992" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-HfXuTQ0hKko/UQ7g8j4mdAI/AAAAAAAABgA/BziAEX1VFGk/P1040992_thumb9.jpg?imgmax=800" width="296" height="528" /></a> <br /><img class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-sun" style="border-top-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-bottom-style: none; border-right-style: none" alt="Sun" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-FbsG1SRqxtQ/UQ7g9Bi-sGI/AAAAAAAABgI/-JiyT6RCSjM/wlEmoticon-sun2.png?imgmax=800" />Avery is a Sunbeam now in Primary. She loves primary and loves to sing the songs each week. Her favorite songs are I am a child of God and popcorn popping. During Christmas time her favorite song was Away in a Manger. It amazes me to see all the things she learns. </p> Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-77321105895042389502012-09-11T14:57:00.001-07:002012-09-11T14:57:42.926-07:00Lake Powell 2012<p align="center">We hadn’t been to Lake Powell for a couple years and thought it would be a great year to go. We all had a blast! What did we do at Lake Powell? Absolutely NOTHING, and it was great! Okay not nothing, but let me tell you there was a lot of relaxing going on. Mixed in with the relaxing we went jet skiing, we laid out in the sun, we read books, we sat on top of the houseboat and looked at the stars, we had glow stick parties at night, we went on a hike/hiked up a giant sand hill, we played plenty of games, and we made daily trips down to the shop to get a treat. Mason enjoyed playing with the hose while it filled up the blue pool. Avery liked to sit on the tube behind the boat and swim all day long. She also liked to line up all the pads on top of the house boat and pretend they were a train or do gymnastic tricks on them with Mason following right behind her. Plus we ate some pretty darn good food! Good food always makes for a great trip.</p> <p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNz-QaM0pmmuAqUC77mFVxdbVHrbb3DbDHr32B1b-RSgoB-7mq8cYzDDJkl5DSi5CpIkm4f9VTxnB30LRKCievJ9j_pxyHkti5hQy1ING382WHd8SgriXtgR7Cjy5yV3HiTiw1D0ufg2g/s1600-h/P1040619%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040619" border="0" alt="P1040619" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-YCRRbYyDzzk/UE-zuuOP6rI/AAAAAAAABQQ/mwOnS98Heyo/P1040619_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="357" height="552" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-UuBm3xm6h2Tl14csa5IS9dlXbm-qU1ud0eCGjmRJHmFREPmhIs7rVTsB8VENRtHZse00_jBGuUeuuetyEKQxiDbQ94pkhXlFTpAs2aCZmv5oSlxonZqzDlqTXTzjm4y8kH_aO9B2jWU/s1600-h/P1040621%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040621" border="0" alt="P1040621" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-GgKS7nN0Bbc/UE-zvzYM24I/AAAAAAAABQg/bD_dcQhQXIo/P1040621_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="471" height="323" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz6USru6EZueqMlo83Flm7TUmFWR7P17koZ0lC42y6f3ybIM-o8NBehepHRAyAxlVNPSg_vjO8nYLIpZ2obgAY3SmVhVGIQLnLQYa0CBmPIL4BXGyh9I-kox9VPKkJD9o5eG8vTlYkHDU/s1600-h/P1040623%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040623" border="0" alt="P1040623" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-00qXwOx3MVs/UE-zw___3ZI/AAAAAAAABQw/kYOZUy86--0/P1040623_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="433" height="658" /></a></p> <p align="center">This popsicle started out as SpongeBob but quickly melted</p> <p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhabhWDQL7BAOhjiJ3zkxaWeIZFPt_oP9vwiN6uzUim0O9aauKm_5n6MvyX3M_4bIZSAImJGuH_hp1kqCevsiLRztCanQD7tClPvk1mj7Wbwx64P4YNrZ0TgCTZDjcXKLvhj5uo87rCOMY/s1600-h/P1040627%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040627" border="0" alt="P1040627" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-9qotvC8SWmw/UE-zyZ3opZI/AAAAAAAABRA/N-5GrYD7swU/P1040627_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="488" height="335" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXq8wXaIm1JduS8MjmLaM1XKjltplWEuVWGyrrKZFeG_cc6ig1v6SLJg6vIbxSsZe77g0-_TnxPfURKf1x10-t9ay1_bz6QwhRH0ICW5BnI4IwV5cl_79bXp0V-pEdn4tT4v3sCT2PMZo/s1600-h/P1040631%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040631" border="0" alt="P1040631" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-wpgeF6SM320/UE-zz92IfHI/AAAAAAAABRQ/BnDgTIgfpqA/P1040631_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="497" height="398" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCNUgz8zZbdIfsp6pUmfyiPY47FF4UiyY9AHTfLRVasqdKdHLexKs95fQWdpEbivHrieRVrNBLsZA0qWgZUYtzMFrmuM4DWJY_ip2PcD3yZpDYFZQphefsN-K0MB6xZzCNOpVGgVZDd30/s1600-h/P1040634%25255B9%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040634" border="0" alt="P1040634" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-VR8DkZjU7lw/UE-z1Vo8UpI/AAAAAAAABRg/vo7OQ0mCc4I/P1040634_thumb%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="430" height="605" /></a></p> Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-59931653570739527142012-09-06T19:49:00.001-07:002012-09-06T19:49:20.747-07:00Preschool<p align="center">Avery just turned three and started her first year of Preschool.  We have been talking it up all summer so she wouldn’t be nervous.  The first day I could tell she was a little nervous when she asked me on the way to preschool, “Mom, you are going to stay with me right?” Oh, my heart strings being pulled! Once she got in there with all the other kids she did great and told me bye! That made me feel much better about leaving her.  </p> <p align="center">To tell you the truth I have been pretty nervous about her going to preschool too. I signed her up kind of late and her age class was full so she was put into an older class. Avery just turned 3 so she would already be the youngest in the younger class and now she is going to be with the older kids about to go into kindergarten. After a few weeks I talked to the teacher and she said that Avery is doing so well. She said that she is doing much better then a lot of the older kids in her class.</p> <p align="center">Avery loves preschool and is really learning so much. At first I just thought Avery needed preschool to be more social and have more interactions with kids her age, she tends to be shy like her mom. But really Avery has learned so much. She is always telling me things, or writing things, or asking me things and I just think, Wow! </p> <p align="center">After one week of preschool she was drawing on her magna doodle and she said, “Look it says mom.” I looked at it and it really said mom. I couldn’t just trust that she really just wrote that, I had to see for myself. Maybe she just scribbled and it ended up looking like MOM. Nope, I was wrong. I asked her to do it again. She started by drawing a circle in the middle, The O,  then she put two M’s on either side. She really did just write MOM. These aren’t even the letters that they have gone over yet in preschool. I couldn’t be more proud of Avery. She is doing so well in preschool and loving every minute of it.</p> <p align="center">Avery’s favorite thing at school is show and tell. She picks the thing she wants to show to her class on Monday and carries it in her back pack all week until Friday when the actual show and tell is.</p> <p align="center"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJuroTso5oCaCaoopGbnVs6R5TIe3Lw70-2FYPcTeoBw2Nf-PE0VvmBtxjqb8n4-NEmB7K64Qu4dNw-hx6EmyFuKFK-ty1JivHBi528G9lOST0fCauGtIxzVQCBkU7IwYpXyxxiq57he0/s1600-h/P10407189.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040718" border="0" alt="P1040718" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-ezvq7g2y-_s/UElgqmL2uoI/AAAAAAAABPc/340ChVKKnqI/P1040718_thumb11.jpg?imgmax=800" width="373" height="587" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNd40eyZnEc2vD6L3C4pjc-Gb1b0w3IvLqfu4B1bkLaf2JpJ0uScz_c9-WYhga4-ay3g5Zex3aiAHre-ew264Te6bGmzmYdfLkfVHzsTdtLLURGP-ClmHU_AaMUKq7iesaRTMEUsBoCfw/s1600-h/P10407197.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040719" border="0" alt="P1040719" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-vxyO_5ceIYA/UElgr_oJxbI/AAAAAAAABPs/3SBzAq15zgM/P1040719_thumb7.jpg?imgmax=800" width="374" height="460" /></a></p> Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-34189713055585342262012-09-05T11:54:00.001-07:002012-09-05T11:54:02.851-07:00Swim Lessons<p align="center">This last week Avery had a week of free swim lessons at Aquatots. She had a ton of fun and she learned a lot of good skills. She was the best in her class at climbing out of the pool by herself. The other kids needed a little boost here and there. Avery is getting better at floating on her back. When we would practice at home she didn’t like putting her head all the way back because she got water in her ears. At swim lessons she finally mastered it and will put her head all the way back in the water. She is also getting a lot better at using her arms to swim.</p> <p align="center"><a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-SQMyWJ8Azvg/UEefs1OYyzI/AAAAAAAABOE/lQGWl3iQc6U/s1600-h/P10407106.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040710" border="0" alt="P1040710" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-0gvutrAlrTI/UEeftmm08II/AAAAAAAABOM/NzpFOeeVHLA/P1040710_thumb6.jpg?imgmax=800" width="407" height="372" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7gYo4AlahzzuM8pic2JDw9cmk0OMLTKaukS0tPd4b9OumZ_tyPdTQK8ghgxRg6vnJGYV6aQfD8BnhVYpyjZxOMjdoX3i189-P-2scghe1WO3owBaTj9yiA0yWb6B7WKS0GQDPOmeH_Ns/s1600-h/P10407114.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040711" border="0" alt="P1040711" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-s9OHnBDRRoY/UEefvWlPufI/AAAAAAAABOc/YNYJvcQvTYs/P1040711_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" width="417" height="286" /></a></p> <p align="center">We couldn’t leave out this happy boy!</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif7_k7QC0aV7vOkx9T5Qstruy00a_tC1i4ZIBgNR2MtBQhTDxy4Y-KOG1q5wQxAUqm3CTTT0J0cvoFBT85M9DStUnuJmOlaxtZYn-r0tcL0-HHdVtW3uT-0LVKxOBvUKAy9SAPhJO0YOE/s1600-h/P10407134.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040713" border="0" alt="P1040713" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-pg7up25OfZQ/UEefw0D7gDI/AAAAAAAABOs/ClQLXZi3yHA/P1040713_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" width="421" height="289" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-8ZIZ17V298UTjHFxgYRVA3cj0JSxm4dJn8JOGPV5yrd8tN8bKaO4Uc_rprL1ByH0hNTVamws6VpDtJSOYqlkNTDH9jU2b8F_N_7Tby4xPpeqbbmj_YTEyMuACwNkFD99vkAK2ut2jdA/s1600-h/P10407154.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040715" border="0" alt="P1040715" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-FizbTyXOs6A/UEefybK_KrI/AAAAAAAABO8/9JczgBc6UHE/P1040715_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" width="428" height="294" /></a></p> Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-87962063411570175562012-09-02T20:31:00.000-07:002012-09-03T19:29:49.811-07:00Princess dance campAvery went to a princess dance camp for a day. She loved it. She got to make a crown, learn a dance, and look in a magic mirror. When I picked her up all the girls did a little dance they had learned. Avery is the one in the pink tutu and black leotard. Sorry it is so far away, I sat down right in front of her and when they started the dance for some reason she ran to the other side of the room. All these girls dancing reminded me of the movie “The Little Rascals” when the boys are dancing around not knowing what the heck they are doing; especially when Avery just decides to twirl around in the back.<br />

EVER. Even if I thought I was going to start a diet, it wouldn’t even last a day. Lets just face it, I LOVE chocolate, and food, way too much to diet! <br />With that being said, here’s my story of the Paleo diet. While I was in Utah in April I had made some arrangements to see some friends. We usually meet for dinner after they get done with work. While at Carrabbas, shoving our faces full of their delicious bread, crab cakes, our actual meal plus two Dr. Peppers, we started to discuss what girls talk about, thinking that they are fat. <br />I can’t talk for my friends, which I think looked great, but at that moment I was definitely at my heaviest weight in my life. I would like to think that I could blame it on being married. Or possibly that I have two kids under the age of 3; doesn’t everyone use that excuse? Well those are definitely not valid excuses. During dinner my friend Alece told us all about the paleo diet that she had tried. We all decided to start the diet on May 1st for 30 days. She sent us a bunch of emails about the paleo diet so we could get ready for it. While I was in Utah I never had the time to actually do any research or plan out what I was going to eat. I drove home to Arizona the day before we were to start this diet. That night at ten o’clock I was reading what Alece had sent me and thought that I was going to die. My mom just laughed and laughed at me when I was telling her all the things I couldn’t eat. To put it simply you cannot eat anything. Okay not anything, but that’s how I felt. You cannot eat dairy, bread, sugar, and by sugar I mean anything with sugar in it like ketchup or any dressings. You wouldn’t believe all the things with added sugar. You can’t put butter on anything or cook with it. All you can eat is fruit(natural sugar), vegetables, and meat. Some refer to it as eating like a caveman. <a href="http://whole9life.com/2012/01/whole-30-v2012/">Here</a> is the link of the 30 day program we followed. <br />The first day I really felt like I was about to die from starvation. I was definitely not prepared at all for this. The only thing I ate the first day was carrots and fruit. I was starving! That night I decided I was going to get some recipes and everything I needed for them so I wouldn’t be tempted to eat all the snacks around the kitchen. Trust me, I have a lot of snacks around. I think with kids you just have to have snacks on hand. I also got a huge bag of raw almonds to snack on if I thought I was about to give in. I won’t bore you with my day to day progress. I will just say that I did it! I stuck to it the whole month. Not one Dr. Pepper was slurped during the month of May. Here are my results. This is also with little to no exercise. I did walk 30 mins everyday for the first week and then my back was acting up and I didn’t exercise the rest of the month. <br />Measurements<br />
<ul>
<li>On each arm I lost ½ to ¾ of an inch. You know the area when you wave to someone and your under arm flab waves back. </li>
<li>On each thigh I lost 2 ½ inches. </li>
<li>Around the hips I lost 1 inch, </li>
<li>Around the waist (belly button area) I lost 2 inches. </li>
<li>Around the biggest part of my butt, which had gotten rather large, I lost 3 inches. </li>
<li>And of course the one place where most girls would rather gain weight I lost the most; around the chest I lost 4 inches. Trust me there wasn’t much there to lose either. </li>
</ul>
<br />
The grand total of weight lost in the month of May was 15 pounds. I had lost 12 pounds in the first two weeks and then I came to a huge slow down and I lost the last three pounds the last two weeks. Now that the 30 days is over I have gone back to eating my “normal” just more cautious of what I am eating and not snacking so much. I have lost two more pounds and slurped plenty of Dr. Pepper. She is kind of being silly in this video because there are a bunch of people watching her, but she can do the whole thing all by herself. About a month ago every time Avery saw a flag I would say the pledge of allegiance and she would repeat it. Now she's got it down.<br />

It was a very eventful day filled with balloons, Chocolate chip pancakes, family, yummy food, cupcakes, toys, toys, and more toys! This kid is one spoiled little boy. But he sure does deserve it. I can’t even say how great Mason is. We love you Mason and want you to know that you have brought so much joy and happiness to our lives. <br />Just a little bit about Mason:</font></p> <ul> <li> <div align="left"><font size="4">He LOVES food. Don’t even think about taking a bite of something unless there is some for him too. There is not one thing that has gone in his mouth and came back out. He downs anything and everything. The only way to tell that he is done eating is that he will begin to put the food on top of his head. Each night he eats dinner around five and then when Levi gets home around 6:30, Mason thinks it’s dinner time all over again. He pretty much gets two dinners every night. </font></div> </li> <li> <div align="left"><font size="4">He likes to clap his hands, give high fives, point to his nose, and he sometimes will put one finger up when you ask him how old he is. </font></div> </li> <li> <div align="left"><font size="4">He is such a loving tender little guy. He loves to cuddle mom and give out kisses; watch out they are mostly open mouth kisses!</font></div> </li> <li> <div align="left"><font size="4">When Dad comes home from work Mason lights up and makes a mad dash towards him.</font></div> </li> <li> <div align="left"><font size="4">Mason always wants to see what Avery is doing, which is usually taking toys from him. But he still loves to play right along side of her, toys or no toys.</font></div> </li> <li> <div align="left"><font size="4">Mason loves the bath tub, but he is terrified of people swimming. Whenever someone jumps off the diving board or goes under the water he flips out. </font></div> </li> </ul> <p align="center"><font size="4">Here are a few pictures from his birthday fun!<img style="background-image: none; Mason LOVES the bath tub so I thought he was going to love the pool. Come on it’s like one huge bath tub, what's not to love? Well at first he didn’t like it one bit. He cried and cried and cried (mostly when he saw Nik). I am not really sure why. Maybe because he wasn’t sporting his normal glasses; Mason usually loves Nik. Mason just clung on to me and gave Nik the stink eye for quite a while. He finally warmed up to the swimming pool and Nik. Hopefully our next visit to the pool will be a success!</font></p> <p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMwl9i5lgl0lZdXUlWJXkLCFCBqGnE3CUEPfJBBP1PuxmPxcmHMSOmnvP6HON3d6TMNxpQNMrwM7d01giBBm-mpN2Zk0lODh1dG2yDfunhrvWrg6hAITmXlwG2FnYa8pMfkCLkRUZ_dxA/s1600-h/P1040303%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040303" border="0" alt="P1040303" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-HCTWHMEDjcM/T8E8GsTD78I/AAAAAAAABI4/aZSnm3zak6I/P1040303_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="345" height="507" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiawR53tyUG096Hethf2sSxY7WlJ4Lj6nolIR7GfCusisLCRqjRTi-YgeKzybDtzRy7nblOykwH7dAe8YCO16EsFs2bZWE_tqfCCrlQg4QhJ8Xf4BijkJqIlu3mKYt_qP3p8ANWt8gbqYA/s1600-h/P1040304%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040304" border="0" alt="P1040304" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-I8lTnF0R_1s/T8E8ISu9zII/AAAAAAAABJI/D6xV7hQdjx0/P1040304_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="511" height="398" /></a></p> <p align="center">Avery and Mason with Uncle Nik and Aunt Hannah</p> Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-93119731408750612012-05-24T14:08:00.001-07:002012-05-24T14:08:10.093-07:00Fishing in Payson<p align="center"><font size="4">We headed up to Payson last Saturday to get out of this crazy heat. Levi’s parents just recently bought a house up in the mountains and we thought we would take a break and go check it out.  It will be a nice place to visit when they are done fixing it up. While we were there we rode the ranger around and went fishing. We all had a great time. Avery caught her first fish and was scared to death of it. Uncle Nik caught a crawdad which Avery was pretty scared of too. After fishing Levi, Nik, and Rick took on the project of ripping out all of the kitchen cabinets and countertops to get it ready for the new ones. Sadly I didn’t get a picture of this but it was a pretty big task, which they got done. We had a great time and can’t wait to get out of this 108 degree weather soon!</font></p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYeEkqp-t-0QEaNMAGt_73TnKDmw9IOtGsV5yd9-Wq9mXUVfRNrRrXpLXyM6VD0voOxdvKKg4jYuCJuX6mLY3liXkImWqmiPgFirA6VfBVRMYx0Bv23-CALc-0JnJ0BFVPVhIlr0uPQUY/s1600-h/P1040274%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040274" border="0" alt="P1040274" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-X4gnH2BFeaA/T76jF-jPsUI/AAAAAAAABHU/vr4LbeKdrIE/P1040274_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="443" height="304" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjw1i5R3Y0B8U4b9KWWgj86tyaL-b7SqSgcQR-GluysqdwbEprqcK7ZTntIftPRGUIclnzVcNAqJFs0k2vX0RO2dlamZRsweeuwXELU0qqSXoNyc2sgNOZ96oeiVTan4guliNTFrzklW3s/s1600-h/P1040276%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040276" border="0" alt="P1040276" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-aStwpZGsYes/T76jHeYEgwI/AAAAAAAABHk/D-Meft6H5HA/P1040276_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="449" height="308" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrHRc334BBiN-PR6Fkqmz3rZ-IiSiNKT17OJXMNe-P3WMX0mEDHgZvtMc925iggbP1kojbTJxvy6VjbAl26CSNxqK-MtOOdcBadj3U_l5Xyjq_CR6Or5yoeRxRkz-EoBA9JFXSuzGBjik/s1600-h/P1040278%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040278" border="0" alt="P1040278" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-HDeLzoaWYks/T76jJKYJ75I/AAAAAAAABH0/ilQ3vj8_T78/P1040278_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="441" height="344" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxSMxVJKMGj9LiM2fHIV_yB-Y9rsQE9y9239JT9f2OOkegFhCX-FjYnBL_NWBGn-tq_PhsNbzGdy1Sz1F4camMuQRni9sviW1NPstxLS7BkYhSwxrRpnoYkLkJFGh4rPJuZWIX985GwLU/s1600-h/P1040284%25255B10%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040284" border="0" alt="P1040284" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-ArSpfWol7Mc/T76jKWgGKoI/AAAAAAAABIE/1VSZKxRecTA/P1040284_thumb%25255B7%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="203" height="333" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi42tX-g0NfBUnDnMuKimDSXKis7vZGnWOyx0GBrIxiJcPmiHXrPevki6zSK1xt2GrzF3E20Sim-Ue7FI9_B1Q3FZYxBRVJfQtuBSEVTd9aFDqcIFZ1fEKnqykPLHm9ppVPEGsriBTj7IY/s1600-h/P1040292%25255B13%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040292" border="0" alt="P1040292" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-wP1kRLBcqxQ/T76jL7LiVaI/AAAAAAAABIU/35Zmlbg2jK0/P1040292_thumb%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="194" height="329" /></a>   <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRUP3rV42B-iFNPhE1Bh6-yjJpA4rJzGkvVYGNlgZs5u-CdP1ql1aoR-Nd3cOwcElxkrJXt_8tBnBmCHSsZ_QfZcsLQlQl_uuuU58rCZDNkAWVb-4k5PuasvZsuDrO1o8G5wgQ3fpjqNA/s1600-h/P1040300%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040300" border="0" alt="P1040300" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-tgCNJb64MnI/T76jOE-a4XI/AAAAAAAABIk/SQaXXmAwzdU/P1040300_thumb%25255B8%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="453" height="353" /></a></p> Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-33533795330104432452012-05-14T14:14:00.001-07:002012-05-14T14:14:12.536-07:00Mothers Day<p align="center"><font color="#ffc000" size="6">HAPPY MOTHERS DAY</font></p> <p align="center"><font color="#ffc000" size="5">I love these kids! I have lived here for almost six years now and had never made it to the zoo. It is an awesome zoo. We had a great time. This little family we went with has a little girl that is a couple of months older than Avery and they also have a boy who is two or so months older than Mason. So it worked out perfectly, everyone had someone to play with. Avery even got to ride a camel with her friend Ady.  We didn’t take the kids swimsuits because we didn’t know the splash pad would be on but to our surprise it was. At the end of our day we let them get soaked at the splash pad. We all had a good time seeing all the animals and munching on eight dollar popcorn!</font> </p> <p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRy3KHCEC2GManclEmPGi6nHdBu41P1tmQulZCBWpc_Lr7iLFQQTrG-Cs4qLF_ToRMPfvgUkN_hCDZ04P9NkW8Av246mrb7bjevaZdr28JxGzJf60oGKDU-YIpetELfW-7VrXahZwSTFA/s1600-h/P1040126%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040126" border="0" alt="P1040126" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-9dVGfH7r9Bk/T6wrxnlQg_I/AAAAAAAABFs/8e-roH9iIz4/P1040126_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="426" height="292" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMmGM7PUVUKNkeBC3nGcY2a9X2ZxtMlvJR1uNzoCVDqx4aNJO2gpV11K6dfYrGAsoO7pbEeWzYJ5Or4r9LIhRX8yqKDZWIWicZhnSjAUq5Nu8Zo-5Fr_AKESBMuBrx-CdqI7tm-NgB6RU/s1600-h/P1040130%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040130" border="0" alt="P1040130" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-9ND_u4Ojy1U/T6wrzorun7I/AAAAAAAABF8/2UNjCd6CyG4/P1040130_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="427" height="293" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjR06nJIszGjck7SC3WfUmXwydJ1hUlwSBrCRg2fndsidbo_SZhXON4acDof77okss0xprQs15C6Vo66g6u7-FZvISO9ss4ISMuWb6zNsHpDHLNaLRHKna76VPY18XjQ5pbZcei3NhJT0o/s1600-h/P1040138%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040138" border="0" alt="P1040138" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-quNl5b3kVhc/T6wr1fN_BZI/AAAAAAAABGM/gEq_hJCIw0E/P1040138_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="430" height="295" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ67DflG2nntBlZR_1gCjVIZ0QjDZ-7iundcP29dpPgF8ccTlA_8ZcaXEXsXyJih3GkIRepgKuhCtZVSyqHrHlrzv2GkMEUtn-TMBjFZvjB7Nel9s7NvWK8XlxxmnXiLDeUc6aUGQD3Ek/s1600-h/P1040143%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040143" border="0" alt="P1040143" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-XOSaBoizeWM/T6wr3T09l6I/AAAAAAAABGc/W6-26uJLd7s/P1040143_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="436" height="299" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwOKY2hsrmxjOvWtJNFjyOgYVDWXAGfdog2350cdjKnsWPG5my5odk0jA0QRyCpttS9KurhP6qtjFDhpr_BLf1RTFgpcsyWYdd_U78aaubIzuX24_fh9l-P2h4iORnstaq7zlFYiFqh1U/s1600-h/P1040149%25255B9%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040149" border="0" alt="P1040149" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-ZHfaJ5B174A/T6wr5SSXvHI/AAAAAAAABGs/54wiZxnCXcs/P1040149_thumb%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="439" height="350" /></a></p> Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-15718980256706529582012-04-09T10:16:00.001-07:002012-04-09T10:16:16.914-07:00Happy Easter<p align="center">We had a great Easter. We did all the fun activities like Easter egg hunts. Made Easter bunnies out of paper plates and made Easter eggs. We also left out carrots and lettuce for the Easter bunny, which he gobbled all up. The thing I love most about Easter is going to the Mesa Easter Pageant and taking time to remember Christ. This year we took Avery with us. She liked to see the angels on top of the stage all in white! I think Avery was a little young to really enjoy it, but I think it will be a fun family tradition to do each year together. We hope you all had a wonderful Easter season with your families!</p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifGBNZrXMwYPJQQGWYjdsD1CCh6dXm3pkDQMYXnhhp8UMoC534_RwZwRHjgQ6kwMS_Rd4RKfz0XIZQZA9wahnsgceEttPPyl-An79gWCu0kg7ZkIl1LiK0YJzs9m31vZ0THt35z8hsM-s/s1600-h/P1040099%25255B13%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040099" border="0" alt="P1040099" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-PnbzPMN468c/T4MZVAA6fII/AAAAAAAABFM/-qwhiHcsNRY/P1040099_thumb%25255B14%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="395" height="462" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_B2bOmPpEu9BBdVlD3_IiMXWJA1sW9IhQ788pKUccdtVBHa5qq_ekG3pG-D816eEE0vb2sUkkwMl3wc4vP3j3D5yBFFHikPJXHHzjaXM5hHbe3pcj6s15MGeJH4vPJMrVVhoDZXS8OD8/s1600-h/P1040106%25255B14%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1040106" border="0" alt="P1040106" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-VNKcOds-3y4/T4MZX2W7ppI/AAAAAAAABFc/sF59Y7zjpgI/P1040106_thumb%25255B14%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="401" height="539" /></a></p> Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-91195186336222221662012-03-28T15:20:00.001-07:002012-03-28T15:20:44.693-07:00He thinks he is so BIG!<p align="center">Mason thinks that it is time for him to play with the big kids! This last week he has been trying to climb up the stairs after Avery. I usually find him when he is on the first step thank goodness! This time I decided to see how far he could get on his own. Of course Avery had to be by his side and cheer him on and I was right behind him in case he fell.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir84f7mnGlfjoFJ_YZJd2E6atJXj6WiwRft-tMLIIPrQJ_F8qjTvDyb8OsQStSYQblk6LxqWX0UGo6dcLhPVESjibF-uIdeIl7-Zfx4RVU_plHvm9vJpoaTvEWevKcMSjE2U8fmXh8O0g/s1600-h/P1030981%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1030981" border="0" alt="P1030981" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-NIo80N4oPxo/T3OMGFYTp2I/AAAAAAAABDU/RVAG8FfGQHg/P1030981_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="404" height="314" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYYdne7xkP6Gr3v6Zp9MLQn981v7rBF9CdsHFsUzkcY2dG170E93RYnbP7QjKWMCh4P1pycpvL6STsatYkXeKAlM_DExJs7QpfpjYxmlwS2iDnyCUKa-xwIvzbHse_e85tK3eNYgd11w8/s1600-h/P1030983%25255B7%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1030983" border="0" alt="P1030983" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-alWhjCkOUFA/T3OMH9AIYbI/AAAAAAAABDk/pE7qi957t9c/P1030983_thumb%25255B4%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="383" height="537" /></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-tqztLOLWKDQ/T3OMJPY57vI/AAAAAAAABDs/xbAD-CBgnQY/s1600-h/P1030985%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1030985" border="0" alt="P1030985" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-bmVsGUmIlbw/T3OOm8GREjI/AAAAAAAABD8/XGygUNAa5rI/P1030985_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="201" height="276" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIai_HialuQ741bFKarKGg6x_l5NPxRJrThQnppnT-trU77S5JCo2eSZxmZalgc4l-m5Ihm4oCEA4ijkiVZ3lUZ_xd2zRwfjr-xqE01Qw7ZAPf1KpYu0A9NSza2RRajAivupx8Hn0U7m4/s1600-h/P1030991%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1030991" border="0" alt="P1030991" src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-PR6bQM2o4Bs/T3OOoQAtu2I/AAAAAAAABEM/z3g1o0wPVc4/P1030991_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="201" height="275" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNtVfSR4Sh7oLiryeAjveL2eq6g-Edj_IOcoQXbpYD0x4Om3se6AMUmYOLHDSLgH0Ql3AFOCd41Ql_wC-YwFDrJfzJ1M-bf6Y5WoixS14VCBlyqotcKRkzjN-gM-hrhkRcYI4Gf8_E7aY/s1600-h/P1030994%25255B6%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1030994" border="0" alt="P1030994" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-Hq5Nn1PNUH8/T3OOqnHywuI/AAAAAAAABEc/Zg5fcrebCM8/P1030994_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="472" height="410" /></a></p> <p align="center">He made it to the first landing then he tried to continue on until I told him no. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKTko4XG5X0OPXZyO7Xlw6Se8GjvqkqqeEOHuMCvZq1Ch3_VuDLNBMOJiU9SrIkCB1oO45xoPUpYbIHzbPrzHOlMFzjwZLv3ss7XFyqDx13VPurhKSdqbTZF1J33WcDh1FbZZezr071gA/s1600-h/P1030996%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1030996" border="0" alt="P1030996" src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Ml4qbdCIKn8/T3OOsgVT6iI/AAAAAAAABEs/WLPlByvrEYw/P1030996_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="429" height="294" /></a></p> <p align="center">So he decided to try coming down head first!!</p> <p align="center"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6L4ANO8-EQXveChxGNNQHzSioV3S9BxIDCYjMbi8XPCQnv4211ARnAk9L9Rxr4zn11J3Gq-jByVX55ufokjXsp7wNagiareJDHFt-woxN9K9jlOghvdZQps_Q2vmhb3cNkZke2-nm19Q/s1600-h/P1030999%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="P1030999" border="0" alt="P1030999" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-FXJDsXdL28s/T3OOugcJS4I/AAAAAAAABE8/WBH-rp_dliQ/P1030999_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" width="394" height="605" /></a></p> Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-88982243020491898312012-03-16T13:57:00.001-07:002012-03-16T13:57:45.943-07:00Lovin' the weather<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">After each of us had the 24 hour stomach bug (all on different days) we needed to get out of this house! This week the weather has been amazing! So we took every opportunity we had to be outside! Avery is becoming a pro at her tricycle. She loves to ride it out on the back patio. We have taken quite a few trips to the park. These two LOVE the swings! Avery use to hate the swings when she was Masons age. She would scream and scream until we would get her out and now it is her favorite thing to do. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: small;">I have a HUGE addiction to Pinterest! Probably like every girl, right? I thought I would just post some of the things that I have made from the inspiration of Pinterest.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;">My mom and I made the cutest stick horses for the kids. Avery really really wanted a horse for Christmas so I figured a stick horse would have to suffice. I found a great tutorial on Pinterest <a href="http://lightbluegrey.blogspot.com/2011/01/lets-diy.html" target="_blank">HERE</a> and I put my mom to work in the Hatch sweat shop!!(she visited in the summer/Fall when it was super duper hot and she said she felt like she was in a sweat shop) My mom is an amazing seamstress. She can make anything. Every time she comes to visit I put her to work on something I need done. I thought that they turned out amazing. Avery loves her horse. She tells it to giddy up all the time.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;"> </span><span style="font-size: small;"> I made this Valentines necklace for Avery after seeing it <a href="http://www.eighteen25.blogspot.com/2012/01/valentines-day-necklaces.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>! </span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">We have made these stuffed shells a couple of times now. Recipe found <a href="http://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/2010/09/chicken-and-spinach-stuffed-shells.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>. They are delicious. I love that it makes so much. You can freeze half the recipe so you can have it another time, or its a great recipe to take to someone else and then you have the other half for your dinner!<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-3EHI1e02g5E/T1bSDus_aWI/AAAAAAAABAA/jjREKSwiR7E/s1600-h/P10209745.jpg"><img alt="P1020974" border="0" height="293" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-nX_tb_nGSSU/T1bSEMup9kI/AAAAAAAABAI/BRP1TYhpibc/P1020974_thumb2.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="P1020974" width="421" /></a></span><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;">I have seen these apothecary jars everywhere recently.(I got my inspiration <a href="http://samichals.typepad.com/sweet_nothings/2009/12/cute-apothecary-jars.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>) I think they are so cute! I think that it was a huge craze for a while because I looked at Joanns, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby for all the supplies multiple times and couldn’t get them. They were always sold out! When I finally got my hands on all the supplies I was a little put off, so I did the project a little at a time. I was almost finished when all the pieces were outside drying and Levi was out cleaning something with the hose and he sprayed them all down, accidentally:( After that they sat in a box for another couple months until I got the urge to finally finish them. So here they are finished, still drying! Now I need to figure out where to put them.<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-pfrKTyOuqK0/T1bSFAD9XbI/AAAAAAAABAQ/nxn4R1QfV5g/s1600-h/P1030863%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="P1030863" border="0" height="377" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-zMAvyEZkyFA/T1bSFamvvdI/AAAAAAAABAY/cGZeUjQSj_M/P1030863_thumb%25255B5%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: -moz-use-text-color; border-style: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="P1030863" width="342" /></a><a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-53n8aHeMRCY/T1bSGfg1O7I/AAAAAAAABAg/zsxMFJJwpdM/s1600-h/P1030867%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="P1030867" border="0" height="377" src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-aacj83-Pr0Y/T1bSG452GGI/AAAAAAAABAo/p53KrRHoSi4/P1030867_thumb%25255B6%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-color: -moz-use-text-color; border-style: none; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="P1030867" width="336" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;"> I made this biggest loser recipe found <a href="http://www.fabulousfoods.com/recipes/the-biggest-loser-s-baked-eggs-in-turkey-cups" target="_blank">HERE</a>, not because it is healthy but because it sounded good. We all know that I am not a healthy eater and couldn’t stick to a diet to save my life. Chocolate is just way to good to stay away from! Anyways they were actually really good. I would make them again. But the recipe says 18 egg whites, well I only did 15 and I still had a lot leftover that I just made scrambled eggs from. In the future I might only do 12 eggs or because I don’t really care if it is healthy I might just do the whole egg and use less!<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-iq-RXMBYw7A/T1bSIo7wzgI/AAAAAAAABAw/TScIIXc4YTc/s1600-h/P10307884.jpg"><img alt="P1030788" border="0" height="280" src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-5HsT2wAWpLQ/T1bSJEsEsAI/AAAAAAAABA4/CvhbWJOOu8I/P1030788_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="P1030788" width="408" /></a><br />
Well now that you know that I am addicted to chocolate, I made these Valentine cake pops. They were delicious! They were really really rich but still good. Avery was a big helper/mess maker with the sprinkles. Most of the sprinkles ended up in her mouth or on the floor.<br />

<span style="font-size: small;">For Valentines day Avery and I made two Grandmas brag books that I found <a href="http://eighteen25.blogspot.com/2010/05/accordion-albums.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>! I thought they were so cute so I downloaded there link. I couldn’t decide on only a few pictures so I tweaked it a little and made it reversible so I could put pictures on both sides. Art told me to take his old sub from our parents house to use at my home, but when I hooked it up no lights came on and no sound came out. I pulled out the amp and saw that some components were fried but after I replaced them it still didn’t work. The fuse would blow immediately after I plugged it in. That’s when I discovered that the voice coil on the driver was melted and I decided to rebuild the whole thing.<br />
Avery is in all of the pictures because she wants to help me any time that I take on a project around the house. Here is the sub enclosure before the changes with a 10” driver that is mostly foam and a 120W amp.<br />

Avery helped me enlarge the opening for the driver to fit in this beast that I have had sitting around for a few years. After each cut with the jigsaw, Avery would pull her fingers out of her ears and ask if I was done yet. She had to be right next to me every step of the way; holding the screws for me or holding the glued pieces in place as they dried. A little side by side comparison of the surface area and magnets on the two drivers.<br />

I picked up a nice little power switching 300W amp from parts-express pretty cheap. I also scavenged some gnarly wire from an old sub box that was labeled 12 GA but looked a lot closer to 10 GA. Most of the work on this project went into converting the square opening on the back of the enclosure into a rectangle of different dimensions and framing in the amp on the inside of the box while working around the internal bracing. The great thing about working with MDF is that you just glue all of it together; no fasteners required.<br />

All finished, looking and sounding good. The new driver is so large that the old screen won’t fit on the front anymore, but I like to see its face lurking in the corner. It gives a good rumble during the movies. To test it out I put in my copy of Step Into Liquid and went to the last scene where the guys are tow in surfing at the Cortes Bank. It isn’t the greatest bass soundtrack but it is really cool to have the deep bass match the awesome visuals of the monster waves crashing down.<br />
Thanks to Art for donating his old sub enclosure, Avery and I enjoyed reworking it.Kathy and Levihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16093265294378542585noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-199091939544569781.post-74205898619390816112012-02-22T14:14:00.001-08:002012-02-22T20:13:22.930-08:00Kiddos<div align="center">

Just some things that Avery has said or done the past few months that I think are entertaining. <br />After waking up one morning, after having woke up in the middle of the night a couple of times, I asked Avery what the heck was going on last night? Her reply, “Mom don’t ask me any questions.”(With serious attitude) So what do I do... I ask her again what was going on? She said, “Mom I don’t want any questions!” What??? Where did she get that from? I don’t think Levi or I have ever said that. After that morning she has been saying it all the time when I ask her something!</div>
<div align="center">
Levi doesn’t like it but I think it is funny. After I have asked Levi something that started with his name Avery will mimic me and call him Levi and ask him the same thing. Levi then says my name is dad to you!</div>
<div align="center">
I think this is cute. I will randomly walk into the room and Avery will have her arm around Mason while they are watching cartoons or she will be holding his hand. </div>

I guess our house is pretty boring because every time we leave the house and we are on our way home from our excursion, Avery always says she doesn’t want to go home. She knows directions too. Every turn we make she will point the opposite way of home and say lets go this way. As we get closer to home she comes up with other places that we need to go.</div>
<div align="center">
Avery thinks all dresses and shirts with ties are called nursery clothes. Every time Levi comes home from work Avery says, “Dad, you are in your nursery clothes.” She LOVES nursery!</div>
<div align="center">
Avery just started saying, "Hi everybody" and she says it exactly like Dr. Nick Riviera on The Simpsons. It is hilarious! </div>

He could watch Avery for hours! He will sit anywhere for a long time as long as he can see what she is doing. </div>

Mason is totally a mamas boy and I love it. Others might not enjoy it as much as me but I could cuddle him all day long. He gives the best cuddles and kisses ever.</div>

<div align="center">
Mason eats and eats and eats. He would eat all day long if I let him. He will eat any baby food plus we have recently started giving him other things and nothing has ever came back out. Maybe a few odd looks, like what is this? But then he gobbles it down.</div>
<div align="center">
Mason has the best giggles in the world! I could tickle him all day long just to hear that sweet laugh of his. He is about the happiest baby around!</div>

My favorite time of day is when its bed time. Levi puts mason to bed most nights so he can have a few cuddles too. Levi will get him all wrapped up in his blankets and he will bring him around for his good night kisses from Avery and I and every time I give him his kiss he gets the most precious smile on his face and lets out the cutest little giggle. It makes my heart happy!</div>
