Because It's Divine ...

It's the little things that happen in life where so many people call it a coincidence, but I know different. I know God has a hand in our lives. I also know it's hard to see bad things happen in this life and not blame God. Yes, He let's hard things happen to us that we have to deal with. He doesn't cause them, but he does let us go through these hard situations. That's the whole reason we're here, to show him we have faith even through the miserable worldly experiences we trudge through. But he's there. He's crying or cringing with us through the struggles and disasters, but he's there. I've seen His hand in my life, and I'm so grateful. I'm grateful that I have my faith through my trials, and I'm grateful that I have a loving Father in Heaven who knows who I am and guides me to my next steps in life. And I'm endlessly in debt to my Savior who knows everything I have to deal with and bare.

I had a neat experience today at work. Just a simplistic gesture from my Father in Heaven, where again, I saw His hand in my life. But these tiny experiences are undeniable to me, which is why I want to record them down for my family and myself to read back on. They're testimony builders.

Working in an elementary school has given me a few opportunities to panic with the rest of the staff when a child is missing. It happens rarely, and it's terrifying. The Vice Principal barged into the library and asked if I had seen said child that I instantly assumed was missing. She panicked when I said no and she rushed out.

The Principal of the school only a few seconds later came over the intercom and asked if all teachers could quickly take roll. A voice spoke to me in the form of a thought, "He's across the hall". I got up and looked out my library door. No one. I looked in the Title 1 classroom across the hall. Everything seemed normal. I went back into the library. But a few minutes later, that feeling was there, and I got up and looked in the classroom again. The teachers I kept looking in on were totally getting confused. But then, when I asked one if I could talk to her for a moment, I was asking her about if she knew where the child was, and while we were talking, the child crawled out from the classroom table, walked past us and started walking down the hall. I chatted with him and he said he was sick, not feeling well, and I took him into the office where the vice principal just cried. It's such an emotional experience when you're put in charge of all these children. But I'm grateful. So grateful that God nudges us when we're prepared to listen. And it's in those recognizable moments that don't make sense, and it's not a coincidence, that encourage me more to keep my relationship strong with my God so that he can utilize me whenever needed. There's been times in my life where I haven't felt close to my Father in Heaven and after a peace of time, I recognize what's missing, my relationship with my God. It's a constant nourishing relationship. God wants us to draw nearer to Him, but He can't force us. My relationship with my God is something I will always crave. Always. And hopefuly recogize when I'm slacking.

Happy Thanksgiving with the Prigmore crew.

We were only able to all be together for less than 24 hours,

but we made it work and we made it fun.

All the grandchildren took turns sitting in the chair in front of the temple and saying what they're grateful for and also what they are going to do to help keep their chair occupied at all times.

Here's my kiddos:

Cyrie said she was grateful for temple sealings. And that she wanted to read the whole Book of Mormon.
Skye said he was grateful for scriptures and that he wanted to show more respect to his sister.

Ezra Taft Benson, a former President of the LDS church, and his wife used to make their home their top priority. As they would teach their children the gospel, they would also emphasize they wanted their family to have no “empty chairs,” in the eternities.

So that's our new family motto.

Cyrie's talent show was fantastical.

Monthly Sunday "Date Night"

Josh and I go to ward council together two Sunday's a month and have to get a babysitter. It's officially our monthly date night! Ha! But in all seriousness, it's nice to be able to council for our ward together with the Bishop and leaders of the ward.

We have only done this once before when he was YM's prez and they called me to be the YW's president and didn't release him for a month. Now he's the Sunday School Prez and I'm still in YW.

General Women's Broadcast: SLC

I was able to accompany my Young Women down to Utah for the day. We were in a bus for most of the day and then sitting ant watching the Women's Broadcast. But for the few short moments we had walking around temple square, I was able to take some great pictures of a fantastic place.

A newly 10 year old and a soon to be 8 year old. They are mentally strong kids, with the talent of loving and caring for others around them. They are strong willed and fun loving. But most of all, they are best friends.

I took a quick picture of them on the piano bench after Josh gave them each a Father's Blessing before school started. It's even more special because it's the same piano bench that I received my Father's blessings on growing up from my Daddy.

I went Repelling and White water rafting you guys! I'm totally afraid of heights and water, so this was a super duper fun experience to face my fears. I love facing my fears.

I was at work in the middle of sending out messages to parents about their child’s unexcused absences when I heard the teacher just down the hall ask his students a question. “If you had a genie and could ask for anything, what would you ask for?”

I was listening to some of the student’s responses, but then I zoned out answering that same question in my own mind. If I could ask for anything and it would come true, what would I ask for?

At first I thought,

“Hmm.. I would want a job that allows me to:

Provide for my family.
Stay at home.
While also loving the work I do.

I mulled it over and realized I was already putting in the efforts and work to accomplish this dream on my own. So I thought about it again, what do I want, if I could have anything in this earth life? What would I wish for? And suddenly it was so easy for me. Easier than breathing. I have 2 wishes.

· I wish for my son who struggles with his confidence and also depression to be able to feel God’s love and recognize it on a daily basis, but also know his self-worth and never forget it.

· I wish for my daughter to love herself and who she is and not allow the ever changing trends and fads affect who she is and how she feels about herself, her faith, her personality, or her body.

And suddenly my heart was heavy desperately wishing for these things to come true. Being a parent is remarkably the best thing I’ve ever had the chance of being. My life means everything because of these two beautiful children of God.

And then I thought about how prayer is such a powerful gift that we’ve been blessed with and sometimes take for granted.

Here, talk to God. Oh, Ok. Thank you.

What an amazing gift!

And then He’s actually listening to you and has endless love for you and wants what’s best for you.

So l pray and I ask him to help me overcome my many weaknesses, and I’ll ask for the strength I need to get through my trials. I’ll ask for continued blessings upon those who need their heavy hearts lifted up. I pray for those who are sick and afflicted to feel His hands in their lives. I pray for safety, for myself and my family.

But then realizing that he’s been there loving you and encouraging you through all your trials, you have an overcoming feeling of gratitude. So you can’t help but thank Him for His love, and thank Him for the comforter, and for our Savior, and our blessings that are endless if we just open our eyes to see them pouring in. I thank him for the gift and power of prayer. This gift of prayer is a gift of love.

So back to my 2 wishes I made today, because the next thought I had after realizing how desperate I wanted these wishes to come true, I realized…

Parents have superpowers,
and prayer is mine.

Cutting a Rug With the One I Love

Last night Josh and I celebrated V-day by going dancing.

IT. WAS. THE. BEST. VDAY. EV.ER.

We were crazy. Like 16 year high-school crazy.

We jitterbugged, hipped to the hop, line danced, jumped around, two stepped, slow danced etc etc...

We didn't stop dancing for 2 hours straight.

And laughing non stop made it the best workout I've had in years.

We got the kids ready for bed before we left, and built them a fort to sleep in that night.

Then I asked Josh if we could have a picture of the two of us before we left.

The kids decided they didn't want to be left out of the picture...

Couldn't wait to go dancing with this fella...

So there were a few memorable moments while we were dancing the night away.

Josh went and sat at a table during one fast song because he was exhausted and needed a drink. Then an even better song came on and I "fished him out" onto the dance floor with my pretend fishing line. My acting skills were quite phenomenal I might add. It was a strenuous catch.

Also, my friend Stephanie, whom I adore and laugh with, and thrift shop with on a regular basis was there with her husband. Well, the song "You're The Inspiration" by Chicago came on and we were really feeling the sap and spontaneously started interpretive dancing. This too was very phenomenal. Everyone gathered around us and cheered...and laughed of course, some took video. I won't be posting it for the sake of every sane person out there.

I only have 10 more weeks left of school this semester. I can do this. I've discovered that the 2 week Christmas break between semesters is not nearly long enough. In fact, I get so burnt out these Winter semesters that I struggle staying motivated till April, even though it's not that long. It's more difficult because Josh and I are each going to school full time and are also both working 2 part time jobs. He also has a couple internships on top of that.

I don't find any glory in a busy life. I long for a day where I can:

...read a book for pleasure.
...not have to tell my kids "I can't because I have homework".
...have time to clean, or at least keep up on house work.
...see my husband on a more regular basis.

My husband and I went on our first "night date" in a year. (We go on quick day dates when we can while the kids are at school, and if we have homework done). Last year we were able to go to the temple every Wednesday together while the kids were at school. I miss that desperately, and it's remarkable how I can feel the difference in my life from going once a week to now only going once a month.

Josh and I went on a stroll through the Village this past Friday night to get dessert and enjoy the lights. Emily Jensen watched our kids for us and they loved finally having a babysitter!

First NIGHT DATE in a long time....and guess what?....It's dark.

You can't really tell, but I cut off my hair, just under 10 inches. Actually, Cyrie cut off my hair.
...YES, on purpose! I'm training her early I guess. This is the second time she's cut my hair. The first time she cut about 5", so she was pretty stoked to cut off twice as much this time around!

Josh is currently student teaching seminary at Borah High School. It has been a blessing in our lives. Many blessings actually. For one, it's only a 5 minute drive. He also teaches with Ike Stafford, the seminary principle there (Whom Josh home teaches and also his wife is my 1st counselor in the YW presidency, we love this family). The students are eager and willing to learn. And finally, Josh is loving it. He's learning and growing and finding a passion in teaching the gospel daily to the students at Borah High School

We had a new Young Woman move into our ward! This is big news for such a small group of girls. My goal is to get a picture of all of them. It's rare when each of them are together at the same time. I'll keep you posted. I love these girls.

It's even funnier because in the background you can hear Josh and I yelling "Jump! Jump!" We're teaching Cyrie how to do a summer salt. She did it and laughed that she could finally do one! Ha! She's 7! She's a trooper. It took us over an hour to get her to do one. Skye OBVIOUSLY got bored with the whole ordeal and swiped Josh's phone.

I spent celebrating my 30th doing everything that I wanted to do. Made a list and checked it off.

My family surprised me with breakfast in bed. I spent the early morning hours with my husband on a warm beach, wrapped in a snuggle blanket eating chocolate covered strawberries. (My husband made a plethora of them).

I went Stand Up Paddle Boarding for my first time. Shelly Foote and I spent our girl's date paddle boarding, and even had a picnic on the paddle boards floating in the middle of the pond with our feet in the water. Then we had more chocolate covered strawberries.

I picked up the kids from school and we surprised them with a hotel stay. It was a two bedroom hotel room, which the kid's loved having their own room and T.V.

Then more water play, and more chocolate covered strawberries of coarse.

It was a serene birthday. A peaceful one. A lay your head back and soak up the sun kind of birthday. And I needed it. I'm so grateful.

Aging is beautiful. There is a fountain of youth and it is your mind, your soul, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. It is service, it is an endowment of love. When you learn to tap this source of true satisfaction, you will have defeated age forever.

Bring on the 30's, because I'm ready for you.

I start school full time again on Monday, so this weekend was MORE than needed. I'm a sophomore in college, and I'm truly loving soaking up education, especially through a church school. It's beautiful.

I was called as Young Women's President a couple weeks ago and was feeling a lot of stress.

But then I got my counselors called. And I'm so much more at ease. It's a phenomenal group and I'm feeling blessed to have them with me.

Celebration of Life, & a Meteor Shower

Last night was an amazing phenomenal night. It was a beautiful spiritual special experience. We packed up the car and left to go camping for the night because it was the annual birthday of the perseids meteor shower, the best meteor shower of the year.

We go out every year to watch the meteors, but even though we see some beautiful shooting stars, I've never been able to get my family to see the big beautiful meteors that fly from horizon to horizon. When I was younger it was such a highlight of my year! Growing up in a small town with a perfect view of the stars and the entire sky, I saw some amazing perseid meteors.

My kids get to stay up late when we go watch the meteor showers, so they love coming even though we haven't seen some really big ones yet, and my husband loves outdoors and loves making me smile, so it's a win-win for him.

This year we stayed up extra late, (the perfect time to watch a meteor shower is right before dawn when the sky is darkest, though we didn't stay up THAT late). I was worried initially because where we were camping, we were surrounded by so many tall trees limiting our sky view and our possibility of seeing the meteors.

But right before midnight, a light shot across the sky. The campfire had just burned down low and the night sky had just turned pitch black. Josh and I were sitting there in our camp chairs with my legs on his lap, enjoying the evening, and the kids were playing card games in the tent, and the meteor just streaked across the sky leaving a bright tail that stained the night sky for seconds after the meteor had disappeared. Josh almost freaked out. He said he had NEVER seen anything like that before in his life. So we called the kids out of the tent to come watch with us. We positioned our chairs to the direction of the previous meteor, because they usually stay in the general area of each other.

I prayed a small prayer that my kids could witness just one like we had just witnessed. And then it started. The sky put on a show for us and we did not take it for granted. We cheered and shouted every single time. It was beautiful. Better than Christmas morning as a child. I cried. I seriously could not help it. It had seemed like forever since I had seen such a show. At one point five shot across the sky together, which I had never seen before, and I stood to my feet with excitement. I got to experience my love of the sky with my family.

We went to bed late and I had a hard time even going to bed, but we had such an eventful evening.
Cyrie asked if she could have a meteor shower birthday party when she turned 8 and have all the family and cousins come camping for her birthday. I had to break the news that her birthday was during the winter time but that we would continue to do this every year like we had in the past.

The next morning we packed up, ate a fun breakfast and headed home with the kids still talking about the meteors. I turned my phone on when we got into the city and I had a bazillion messages and missed phone calls. My grandpa Williams had passed away last night. It was such a very bitter sweet moment for me. He had passed peacefully in his sleep, which was such a phenomenal blessing, and it was an answer to so many prayers. I feel like we celebrated his life last night in a small way.

YARD SALE!

We had a Yard Sale after we got back from Eastern Idaho. I had already spent weeks gathering stuff together before I had left, so it was basically ready to go. We threw it together and advertised the night before. AND WE CLEANED HOUSE! We seriously sold everything for 1 or 2 quarters, and everything was sold and gone! Which is fantastic because my kids need NEW SCHOOL CLOTHES!

All the clothes and shoes we sold for a quarter. We sold about 200 movies at $1 a piece. We didn't really have any BIG stuff, but we had a ton of little things. And when you mark them cheap, no one second guessing buying it, and everything sells. I always feel like that does so much better than selling things for higher, thinking people will talk you down in price. Where in reality, not a lot of people dare to do that, so instead you have things over priced that wont sell. This is the 4th Yard Sale we've had in our 10 years of marriage and I've learned along the way.

It felt nice to get rid of heaps and piles of unwantables.

The kids had a bake sale that was such a success, and probably half the money made was from them. We made quite some delicious goodies, and a LOT of it!

I only ended up selling the cream puffs for $0.75 because I decided again to do smaller and cheaper, rather than big cream puffs and more expensive that might not sell as well.

All 3 goodies are my sister Natalie's recipes...because let's be honest...what else would I use?

The kids and I went to Firth for 3 week. We had the Annual Williams Reunion. Went to Island Park and stayed in a cabin. Went to Yellowstone, which was Cyrie's first time, and we played splash-kickball at the Esplins again! It's becoming an annual event! And we just played all day all night every day!
