Memorial Day

We decided to go on a hike in Tom's Canyon.

The kids did not have a bit of fun...okay, maybe a little bit.

Jordan played T-ball this year. He had a great time.

This is his last game, and I think that the treats are still his favorite.

He has definitely been hanging around Savanah too long. Nice nails Jordan!

Jacob's Final Game, and the First Hit of the season!

It's the championship game in Minor League Baseball. Jacob hasn't hit all season.

He gets up to the plate and has 2 strikes, 2 balls, then...hits, and makes it to first base!

Good Job Jacob!

In the outfield. When I called his name he says, "Mom...dad needs to apologize". Jeff took Jacob for batting practice before the game. Jacob wouldn't swing the bat...Jeff hit him on purpose, not hard, to get him to start swinging. Jacob said, "dad was really harsh on me". He is so cute.

When we have ballgames the kids are so exhausted. This night Jordan fell asleep in the hall. I had to feed him his dinner while he closed his eyes and rested on my lap. The great days of baseball!

We all had a great day. The weather was beautiful, and the sand was amazing.

I get to run 44 miles in it for my G2G race. It's going to be fun!

Preschool Graduation

It has been a wonderful growing year for me. It has been hard to juggle my family and start teaching preschool this year. I feel so blessed for the growth. I love teaching the children and watching them grow.

Jordan my youngest will move on to kindergarten. Wow time goes by so fast.

Xpress Concert

Jacob's field trip to Zion's National Park

I got up at 6:15 in the morning. Jacob was completely dressed in the kitchen. He had made and packed his own lunch and was making a lunch for the other two boys in his group. He is so sweet and responsible...well most of the time.

Jacob insisted that he should wear the bandannas to keep the sun
out...we insisted that he shouldn't wear them....He is so funny.

Jacob's friend Clifton. Jacob told me that he calls Clifton "chubby". I asked him what Clifton said about that. He quickly responded without any emotion, "oh, he doesn't like it at all".

It is so beautiful in Zion's Canyon. This is the hanging garden.

Arrowhead out and back, or Half Marathon and sum!

Jill Williams took Sonya Driva and me on a hike yesterday. I only had 3 hours of sleep the night before, so I was a little worried, but I felt fine the whole time. We went to Vermillion Cliffs and saw the petroglyphs. They were awesome. We went on the trails without knowing were they went. We ended up going 14.2 miles on trails. It took us 3:30 hours. What a beautiful day and hike. Great training for G2G. Sonya found an arrowhead on the trail. She had just told us that she really wanted to find one to give her father, because he loves them. Just a minute later she found one. So, we named the hike after her. Great Find!

We hiked up to these rocks to see the view and take picutres.

Those are the rocks that we had hiked just a little bit ago. It was fun to see the area that we traveled.

Ballgames, Ballgames, and running!

Monday April 29th

I had to include this picture. I think it is so funny. Derek's new piano teacher would only give him a small section of his song, sometimes not even a full line. He came home so happy that he had earned a full page! He taped it all together so he could play it. Ha ha! Derek has finally has earned his teacher's trust..... that he won't go further in the piece that the teacher wants him to.

Derek loves playing the piano...you can see his song before he taped it together. Our house is really noisy, but the piano sounds great!

Savy is having a great time in softball. This was her first time pitching for the season. She did a good job.

I thought this was so cute to see Savy listening to Jeff give her advice.

I took my preschool class to the park. Jordan had a great time.

Jaxon had a great time at his game in Fredonia.

So, I had a trail run on Saturday morning. I came in 2nd overall, and 1st out of the women. Did I mention that I think that there were 14 people running? Ha Ha. I hope that we have a bigger turnout next year it was a fun and challenging course. My time for a 5.5 trail run from the park up Tom's Canyon down Squaw trail and back to the park was 1:02. This is the only picture that I have. Jeff took it from the car...I think it was because I was running so fast that he couldn't keep up with me....yeah.:)

He had a great time on the trip.

He came home with these glasses. I think that we are not going to let him go on any more trips....:)

State Play In Games

First game: Kanab played South Summit in Manti. We beat them 16-4.

With a win against South Summit that means that we are going to the State Baseball Tournament!

We headed over to Gunnison to play Richfield. This game would place us in the tournament.

We won again 8-4!

Brandon caught the final out to win the game! He is in the back running in with the ball!

We need to enjoy these pictures. In a few months they will be without Brandon.

Grandma and Grandpa Jenson have loved coming to the games over the years, and have put a lot of miles on their car chasing to grandchildren's games. This was the last one that they will travel (far away) to for Brandon....well, at least high school. We will see what happens after his mission.

We will play on Thursday, May 9th at the Kearns Complex in the State Baseball Tournament!

It's been going great here, loving the area and getting to starting knowing the area a little more.

This last week has been a pretty good week, Elder Winder and I went on exchanges the other day with the zone leaders. I went Pontiac another pretty crazy place in Michigan, in order from most crazy places to be is 1st Detroit area, 2nd Flint, then Pontiac. I went over to Pontiac with Elder Minick ( leaving in couple days back to AZ) he is a great Elder. We taught a lot of Indies people that was really cool because there religion is a little a like. They believe in Ala a man that went up to a hill to receive instructions from the Lord then it became a book, the Caron or how ever you spell it.

Next weeks is transfers but I'm pretty sure that I'm with Elder Winder for another 6weeks :) it's been pretty fun and we get along. We might have a baptism this Sunday but not totally sure. It's a Recent converts daughter that we have not been able to see but she has had lessons and came to church with her mom, we just need to find a time on Sunday that the baptism will work out.

Saturday night there was a drug bust in the complex and I guess when they putt the man in hand cuffs he ran, they had a helicopters over the building looking for him and all.

Thanks for the letter, to mom's answer my favorite scripture I like to use in lesson's is Alma 37: 6-7 "small and simple things are great things brought to pass" also I've used for the new years is "Lot's Wife" also for Christmas just the Christmas message in the Bible and also the scripture in the BofM that talks about his acts, not sure where it's at not like you where i can just pull it out hahaha. Been practicing on that kinda, will come as I read more and also cross reference.

Today was a Sunday to remember.

It was Stake Conference, so Brandon was sustained an Elder. After the meeting Jeff ordained Brandon to be an Elder. It was really neat. Since a lot of the boys are leaving on missions this summer they ordained 2 other boys in our ward (Matt Aldridge, Kyle Clarkson). It was cool to watch them stand in the circle for the next boy after they were ordained. It is great to see the missionary work moving forward.

After Brandon was ordained. Jeff and I took Derek to get his Patriarchal Blessing. It is so fun for me to watch my boys grow up. They are wonderful young men.

I wanted a picture to remember the day....this is what I got! They are so funny. Well, Brandon has been hanging on to being the tallest, well at least for the last little bit, but tonight it looks like Derek has finally passed Brandon! We had to get another with shoes off...just to be sure......yep, Derek wins!

Brandon invited him to listen to the missionary discussions. Tonight was the first discussion. It went really well. We have another appointment next Sunday! The gospel of Jesus Christ is so great. I love to see the change in people as they choose to follow Christ.

We had to sneak in a picture with the boys...Derek was being a dork, as usual..good thing that we love him.

Jaxon was so proud of himself for pulling this weed out.....I think that we might need to do some yard work!

Friday, April 26th

Jeff and I headed to SLC for a quick overnight trip. A teacher that Jeff had taught with, Bob Hayward, called and asked if Jeff would introduce him at his retirement dinner. We had Brandon and Derek's Solo Ensemble on Saturday, so we were heading up anyway. I was glad that it all worked out. The retirement dinner was held in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in the Palmyra Room. It is a beautiful room that overlooks the spires of the temple. The evening was wonderful. Jeff did a great job and it was neat to see Bob finish a great career. The whole night was a reminder to me that our relationships with each other, and the covenants that we make are the things that matter most in this life.

Saturday, April 27th

Brandon and Derek at State Solo Ensemble at Lone Peak High School. Derek played a piano, and accompanied the chior in 3 songs. He sang in a double quartet, and accompanied another group. It was a fun day to listen to the boys.

Jacob, Jaxon, and Jordan all went to friends' houses in Kanab. They all had baseball games on Saturday. I was so grateful for a lot of people's help to be able to pull the weekend off!

Brandon had a game against Diamond Ranch. He did a great job pitching. He pitched the whole game and they won 11-6. Brandon hit well also. He went 4/4 and had 2 doubles.

Derek had a track meet in Kanab. He ran 800 meter, 200 meter, and 4x400 relay. He set a PR on his
800 and has qualified to run the 800 and 4x400 at BYU the first week in May.

This is Derek's cheering section. Well for most of the time... Savanah had dance practice, then softball practice and Jacob had baseball practice and got there for the end. Brandon was at the track meet after baseball practice, but we are way too cool to be seen with him.:) Jeff was helping with the javelin throw and would come over when Derek was running.

Jaxon and Jordan were so cute playing by themselves. I am pretty sure that Jaxon never hit a ball, and that Jordan never threw one that he could actually hit. They had fun though.

See those cups in the fence... yes so did Jordan. He took a lot of them out. It was advertising for SBO President. We had to help him put them in again...oops. And yes..It gets a picture of our sweet Mother Ship. Who wouldn't be proud to drive that around town! It will remind me of these fun and busy days of having a van full of children going in a lot of different directions, and snacks and equipment in the back for all of the fun activities.

What a game this was!

We started off by Brandon picking off the ball and running in for a touchdown. He kicked the PAT- good.

Kanab 7 South Sevier 0

Brandon led the team down the field. When we got to the 10 yard line....interception. ouch!

A while later South Sevier scored 7-7. We got the ball and Brandon threw another interception. Ouch again! It was so hard to watch. I felt so bad for Brandon.

South Sevier scored again, and completed a 2 pt conversion.

Score South Sevier 15-7 going into half time.

3rd quarter starts without Brandon as quarter back. Chase Adams took over as quarter back. He marches the team down the field. He cannot complete any passes, so Brandon kicks a field goal.. good.

South Sevier 15 Kanab 10

South Sevier drives down to the 20. They throw up a jump ball. Brandon picks it off in the end zone. After a short drive by Kanab we punted the ball to South Sevier. A 15 yard personal foul led to a short field for South Sevier and they scored again. With another 2 point conversion Kanab was trailing 23-10 going into the 4th.

Brandon came back in at quarterback and threw another pic. Rough passing stats. After a short drive by the Rams Kanab got the ball back. Brandon drove down the field and at about the 40 he connected with Brandon Nielsen for a touchdown pass. The PAT was good. Kanab 17- South Sevier 23.

South Sevier got the ball back and after a short 3 and out Kanab had the ball with about 5 minutes left. After after a bout 3 minutes of driving the field Kanab found themselves in a 3rd and 8 situation on the 20 yard line. Brandon threw the ball as he was being hit and the safety jumped up to knock the ball down. Sailing inches over the hands of the defender the ball found its way into the hands of the tight end James Anderson on his knees in the endzone!!!(It was a flashback of a BYU-UTAH game a few years ago). It was all tied up and then we made the PAT to go up by one!

Kanab 24- South Sevier 23

Brandon sent the kick off through the back of the endzone and with under a minute remaining South Sevier had the ball. The first play of the drive they threw a pass deep down the left sideline and Brandon picked it off again! The game was over! It was a story book ending to a rough first half. After the game we teased Brandon and told him he had a good defensive game with 6 interceptions( 3 on defense and 3 on offense). While it may not have been the prettiest win it was definitely a night we will all remember for a long time!

Derek Cross Country

Derek had his first home cross country meet this week.

Anthony passed Derek just as he crossed the finish line. Derek will have to watch is back closer next time.

Derek got a PR at this meet 18:53. Third place in Kanab. That is awesome!!

That's just barely over a 6 minute mile.

Jaxon had his 7th birthday on August 23rd. He got a new bike. He loves to ride his bike.

Jaxon had a few of his friends over. Spencer, Maddeux, Britton, Landon, Cooper,Hance, Annkia, and Triston. Of course his brothers Jacob and Jordan and big sister Savanah were there too. They all had a great time.
