It seriously has been forever! Well not a lot is going on right now. Just still working and that's pretty much it. My last race, was the dirty dash in Sept. And that will probably be my last race in a long time. Sadly, I messed up my knee doing that race and it hasn't been the same since. I'm afraid to run on it or do anything. I went on my last hike for the season and coming down the mountain was the hardest thing! I even had a brace on it, but oh man did it hurt! Later that night it was so bad that it hurt to just sit at work, and even worse to try and walk around! It has been getting better though. &nbsp; It was just that one night that I was really worried something was wrong. It will hurt on occasion, but it pops ALL THE TIME! Well I decided that I would try to see if it was fine and try and play ultimate frisbee......not a good idea! Don't get me wrong, it was so fun and I haven't played in such a long time, but it probably wasn't the best idea of mine. Now as i'm sitting here typing this, my knee is throbbing. I forgot that playing ultimate frisbee there is more then just walking/running. There is lots of stopping suddenly and turning to throw the frisbee or to get open to get it passed to you. My knee did not like that. So now i'm back to square one. Hopefully I can fix it without any drastic measures, but I'm just so bummed that i'm cant run or play any sports.<br /> <br /> Anyway, here are some pictures of my race and my hike! Also you should go to my picture blog and see my new updates! :) Just click the WHAT I SEE...tab on the right side with my other favorite blogs.<br /> <br /> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody> <tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDM-Fomxoy_enO2Q2ASAYj4OHH3vu2tZtkArriOjgAEhc8ZoVEEC1t3G-L7YWwLB2DFXsJOJSbkqnAv4Nan1KPlJwK9CFuIpcGEBDlzjA3BSNXzIyiKY4JQhzqXMS9PbdmaaMtud3GP89c/s1600/IMGP3062.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDM-Fomxoy_enO2Q2ASAYj4OHH3vu2tZtkArriOjgAEhc8ZoVEEC1t3G-L7YWwLB2DFXsJOJSbkqnAv4Nan1KPlJwK9CFuIpcGEBDlzjA3BSNXzIyiKY4JQhzqXMS9PbdmaaMtud3GP89c/s320/IMGP3062.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr> <tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">And off we go!&nbsp;</td></tr> </tbody></table> <br /> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody> <tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEdimxAddE4fdPS9FCrhk1wRbbTdgibRh0a_U_blDkjIDW-g3wRGHl_FeaBegTn6Z-MvriAoaFEg0Z_UsFqfFZ4rf35hIy7XHzukEHUNLVjAy4PWnApgDNKDsFdl676pXu_BYkLZV9M-E-/s1600/IMGP3067.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEdimxAddE4fdPS9FCrhk1wRbbTdgibRh0a_U_blDkjIDW-g3wRGHl_FeaBegTn6Z-MvriAoaFEg0Z_UsFqfFZ4rf35hIy7XHzukEHUNLVjAy4PWnApgDNKDsFdl676pXu_BYkLZV9M-E-/s320/IMGP3067.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr> <tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Such a good brother to help me over the wall</td></tr> </tbody></table> <br /> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody> <tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgopOVXHxIFdgCG81X36w31DOciYWJJBsUCLdMmfcvMK5qy37WqmTP1xSABJy9zdUeyb8K8Q8MxwegXAo-xZV3ZrUCsIU8qnyHkgwXFxf9b2BcaI_GCiLctz9bUVbhIzheiRMmUdnji1CLZ/s1600/IMGP3070.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgopOVXHxIFdgCG81X36w31DOciYWJJBsUCLdMmfcvMK5qy37WqmTP1xSABJy9zdUeyb8K8Q8MxwegXAo-xZV3ZrUCsIU8qnyHkgwXFxf9b2BcaI_GCiLctz9bUVbhIzheiRMmUdnji1CLZ/s320/IMGP3070.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr> <tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">We still look happy right?&nbsp;</td></tr> </tbody></table> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody> <tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFVWyYX6GWbi-PBZCLa7RCYJaG_csDZHFbTtbdjqN8SePIl36WTTHzPhEtDFQg8bPLlRkvnoW4Mj7zSJHEDTPTvobiQ1IZbC0MsU5fpF62yTVCIp0-_BrkZyqhu3wbugjP6QRWHXAjd71-/s1600/IMGP3087.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFVWyYX6GWbi-PBZCLa7RCYJaG_csDZHFbTtbdjqN8SePIl36WTTHzPhEtDFQg8bPLlRkvnoW4Mj7zSJHEDTPTvobiQ1IZbC0MsU5fpF62yTVCIp0-_BrkZyqhu3wbugjP6QRWHXAjd71-/s320/IMGP3087.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr> <tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Who knows what is in this mud pit.....</td></tr> </tbody></table> <br /> <table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody> <tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMUNpCPvya9H7ePwwMGJocfBLQBkeoQTuZaFkPd3Jwx8eN5ttt9r4cLstCL5dtuYsUQEt2g_l812pwyHlu-k85SUevphFf8hQKbNiTIjkWi12MSH51Z2r_s4F_XjYqJuZRz34uTe2_1H8R/s1600/IMGP3085.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMUNpCPvya9H7ePwwMGJocfBLQBkeoQTuZaFkPd3Jwx8eN5ttt9r4cLstCL5dtuYsUQEt2g_l812pwyHlu-k85SUevphFf8hQKbNiTIjkWi12MSH51Z2r_s4F_XjYqJuZRz34uTe2_1H8R/s320/IMGP3085.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr> <tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Yup! I never thought that I would ever do something like this but lets just say that I'm excited to do it again!! It was 5.5 miles and took us 2 hours to get through it all! It sure was a workout going over, under, through all the obstacles but it was totally worth it and I loved every minute of it! I don't know if I can ever run a normal race...it would just be to boring...haha!&nbsp;</div> <br />Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-9430753641500041092012-05-27T15:46:00.000-06:002012-05-27T15:46:12.182-06:00My crazy adventurous weekend! So, picture this in your head: First picture warm St. George hiking in Zion's. Then picture a slot canyon in a place called Orderville. This hike is pretty strenuous so picture lots of rocks and logs to climb over. Then picture a few water puddles to walk through and then they get big enough that you have to swim through it to get to the other side. As you continue along you have to climb up to the top to be able to get the the spot where you repel down 15 ft to continue on your journey. Keep in mind that this is an 11 mile hike so there are a lot of these obstacles to overcome. Do you have that picture in your mind? Good. Now forget about it because that was only our plan to do that. What we actually did was sleep over night in a windy, cold place called Fillmore. Yup! That's as far as we got.<br /> <br /> I got a text from a friend asking me to go to Zion's with some peeps. So I said sure why not. As I'm packing he sends me a rough packing list: hiking shoes that can get really wet, pants/shorts that dry quickly, warm top in a garbage back to keep warm, extra clothes and socks. All the while i'm thinking...what are we hiking through?? So off we go. When we are on the freeway leaving provo they finally tell me their exact plans. I'm sitting there thinking to myself what in the world did i get myself into. These guys do this all the time. The only time i've ever repelled was at Camp Williams, with professionals! So we go and i'm trying to convince myself that I can do this and not to chicken out and ruin it for everyone else. Well the car was acting a bit funny on the way down as we tried to climb hills, but we didn't think anything of it. We stop at the first exit in Fillmore to get some dinner. As we leave they switch drivers and continue on the freeway. The girl can't get the car to go any faster then 55, she mentions that it's hard to get this car to go. The moment they tell her not to push it too hard we hear a loud sound like a siren and then lots of air coming from somewhere. We can't tell where it's coming from and it was only happening when she pressed on the gas. So luckily Fillmore has two exits! We get off the second one and pull into a gas station to try and figure out what was wrong. We couldn't figure it out and even a guy tried to help us and he didn't know exactly what was wrong. So we decided to find somewhere to pitch our tent to sleep and then try to figure something out in the morning. So with not knowing what was wrong with the car we begin driving to find a dirt road up the mountain. We went up a ways till we finally ran into Fish Lake National Forest where we could easily find somewhere to camp and not get in trouble.<br /> <br /> We found a little place off the dirt road and pitched our tent and went to sleep. Yet for me there wasn't a whole lot of sleeping. Trying to move around to find a comfortable spot on the rocks, ignoring the loud breathing, snoring, sleep talking and the crazy wind was almost impossible. I was in for a LONG night! I finally had to get out of the tent to tie down the rain fly (wrapping it around the poles) so it wouldn't blow away. Then get back in and try to fall asleep all over again. Let's just say that I probably got a total of 2 hours of sleep.<br /> <br /> Once everyone woke up we had breakfast and packed it all up and headed home. We had to keep the windows partially down because the car was starting to smell and we thought it might carbon monoxide. We didn't want to get sick or anything. The whole time they talked about philosophy stuff (which is way over my head). I kept thinking why in the world did i come? I have nothing in common with these people and they are way to smart for me. I just sat and listened. Not once saying anything or offering my opinion. I don't think of things like that. I guess i'm just to simple minded or something.<br /> <br /> They were all really bummed out that we didn't make it to Zion's, but I thought it was a blessing in disguise for me. I don't think it would have been very good for me to go, not knowing how to repel or climb. Being sick (I've had a sinus infection all week) in the cold water would just make me worse. I feel that something would have gone wrong if we would have made it down there. I'm very blessed that Heavenly Father was watching over me and made sure that we didn't continue down south. It sure would have been cool do to something i've never done before, but not so cool if something would have happened. Things like this always remind me to not forget the little things He does for us.Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-55127917110984265312012-05-15T16:34:00.002-06:002012-05-15T16:34:47.775-06:00HikingSo every Tuesday me and mom and her friend Jan are going on a hike. It has taken me forever! Let's just say it was awesome! Hard but awesome! It was only hard because of my bad calves that I have! Lame! But all the color really helped get my mind off of it! It was a really good experience for me and I'm looking forwards to the next races. Not really the dirty dash...that one I'm a bit nervous for! I have no idea why I signed up for it! I'm just crazy..i know!<br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAKvtpRYszM47xVlv0WcIhbGhU9nzlTESdpg4rEzCd5OaJMQuXrfI5moqJyG6buUuy8-mDgJ2Qw3ecI9C4KLMG6tbIuDcit0-l_Gik-LIaBZtcaTJjaLyZs0mRDzgnoKJZ1E8S6d3tzjX2/s1600/DSCN0152.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAKvtpRYszM47xVlv0WcIhbGhU9nzlTESdpg4rEzCd5OaJMQuXrfI5moqJyG6buUuy8-mDgJ2Qw3ecI9C4KLMG6tbIuDcit0-l_Gik-LIaBZtcaTJjaLyZs0mRDzgnoKJZ1E8S6d3tzjX2/s320/DSCN0152.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjykc2oOshDUnzQvA1kNhQeRamhPN6a2mKnypf1FFbQW_j2wM9JMXjdWRczUtiDlHgEs3pt2hdHYvwjd0WUjNbloPvIlTSNSCdjTZKBWyNYwvcE-tU8cy61_cOHw0y-ejCQU-UX7O5mlJwe/s1600/DSCN0153.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjykc2oOshDUnzQvA1kNhQeRamhPN6a2mKnypf1FFbQW_j2wM9JMXjdWRczUtiDlHgEs3pt2hdHYvwjd0WUjNbloPvIlTSNSCdjTZKBWyNYwvcE-tU8cy61_cOHw0y-ejCQU-UX7O5mlJwe/s320/DSCN0153.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgw8sHVgNNZJdOgVao-8vLXnt8ZDu17N0DvHle-_FtNCvSjRE4tKH0mfShV3zhW7wCxiVJOOvakcU5ACwuxG3_5z2rv5U_cj2CBymMWZ6mFbNW_o0K7HrIMQyu6A-a-ly09tOd5RU3SQPGx/s1600/DSCN0175.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgw8sHVgNNZJdOgVao-8vLXnt8ZDu17N0DvHle-_FtNCvSjRE4tKH0mfShV3zhW7wCxiVJOOvakcU5ACwuxG3_5z2rv5U_cj2CBymMWZ6mFbNW_o0K7HrIMQyu6A-a-ly09tOd5RU3SQPGx/s320/DSCN0175.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD0QZvrTd1l_I82HTjfz2f9NwSKfLELJMtzS0_tOu7wm1WzI8a3UYnnoL_kwteB-JXmERgBiQLrPorZpNco9KNEu3XePRgiu9slzeNJ9w5hGiwYs-_U7usoSkdRl8gStgoqysbmhqIjAUF/s1600/DSCN0177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD0QZvrTd1l_I82HTjfz2f9NwSKfLELJMtzS0_tOu7wm1WzI8a3UYnnoL_kwteB-JXmERgBiQLrPorZpNco9KNEu3XePRgiu9slzeNJ9w5hGiwYs-_U7usoSkdRl8gStgoqysbmhqIjAUF/s320/DSCN0177.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0conIygQnkU904fhVtwK24aa3Lk6QgZ_irA6Jd89WXTFLh_ot_jHsVYousFni4Dy0gVroribqjlAqIYA7Qw8NvkifGaCLtwhRMGdgvc7wQY1hhoyi0vf2IZR3fcz011cPPGes_rG8UjbY/s1600/DSCN0179.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0conIygQnkU904fhVtwK24aa3Lk6QgZ_irA6Jd89WXTFLh_ot_jHsVYousFni4Dy0gVroribqjlAqIYA7Qw8NvkifGaCLtwhRMGdgvc7wQY1hhoyi0vf2IZR3fcz011cPPGes_rG8UjbY/s320/DSCN0179.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <br /> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqk8xEaCpDOZHWXRQWlEzR62ulEEMo182FSMyhLRDyX8Gv_7YrJl9dmcx7gOzAnJbm3tICubdS0LEGf290CeoMbNzCCI4IsjbCbR437-7YGaWZUWCB9KlzTJw7vBV_EFIGB3tC6t65Czp-/s1600/DSCN0197.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqk8xEaCpDOZHWXRQWlEzR62ulEEMo182FSMyhLRDyX8Gv_7YrJl9dmcx7gOzAnJbm3tICubdS0LEGf290CeoMbNzCCI4IsjbCbR437-7YGaWZUWCB9KlzTJw7vBV_EFIGB3tC6t65Czp-/s320/DSCN0197.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> <br /> Life is going good for me. Not a whole lot is going on. Just working and I only have one calling now. They released me from my sports calling. Thankfully! So I'm focusing all on visiting teaching and loving it! So there you go! My mom and I are starting to go on a hike every tuesday and that will be great! We have all ready done one and I am excited to do the others!<br /> <br /> <br />Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-35035503983248984632012-04-15T11:14:00.003-06:002012-04-15T11:30:53.233-06:00Stressful.....Hello there! Well i thought that I should post something, but I don't really have a whole lot to say. My Book of Mormon challenge started off good, but my timer has run out and I'm not finished....YET! Sadly I just couldn't get into the habit. I want to read it and really learn the stories and doctrine, but it's still hard for me to read every night. I just don't know how to get in the habit of reading EVERY day/night. I'm working on it. <div><br /></div><div>Work is going good still! I'm loving it. Ya there is still that one lady that drives me crazy, but you always have to have at least one right? </div><div><br /></div><div>My callings are stressful. I just talked to one of my bishopric members about it this morning. It's been really hard having my sports calling. I don't know why I can't just have my Visiting Teaching calling that I love and worry only about that one. But I have to split my focus to two completely different things and make sure both go smoothly. It's just quite stressful. It's going to be crazy this summer with all the new people coming into our ward to make sure everyone has vt teachers and someone to visit teach. And then make sure we have fun sports to play every wednesday night for everyone. We will see what happens!</div><div><br /></div><div>Other than that, my running is slowly coming along. No matter how long or hard I stretch, I still get pain in my calfs and occasionally shin splints. I still can't run very far without stopping for a bit and stretching or doing something else then go back to running. My first race is coming up soon and I really hope I can do it. I know I won't be running the whole time, but my biggest accomplishment for me right now would just to run a full 3 miles without stopping or walking. I really hope I can get there soon, cause it's stressing me out that I can barely even run a full 10 min. How sad is that? Pretty sad if you ask me. </div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-78866718241469590712012-03-15T19:10:00.003-06:002012-03-15T19:31:33.315-06:00Spring is here!Well hopefully it is here! Sure looks like it has been, but I do know that a storm is coming this weekend. So we will see! So it's been a while since i've posted but it seams like I say that all the time! I really just don't have a whole lot to say so I make sure I have a few months behind me so I have things to say to catch up! ;) <div><br /></div><div>So since spring is here, it's time to start signing up for all the races! And yes...I have signed up for TWO races! But they are not normal races! I've joined a group with my work to do these! I think I might just be crazy or something, but I'm excited cause that just means that I'm doing something active and getting involved with those I work with. So the first one, which is on April 28th, is called Color Me Rad. It's a 5K race at UVU, but not timed so that will be good. The second one is on June 2nd and it's called The Dirty Dash. That one isn't timed either. Go watch the videos at www.colormerad.com and www.thedirtydash.com and you will understand why they aren't timed! :) I'm just excited to be out doing something. You might think I'm crazy with these types of races but I'm excited to get "dirty"! ;)</div><div><br /></div><div>But now since i've been running almost everyday....I'm getting major shin splints and calf cramps. It seriously is so annoying! I'm trying to not get discouraged, and I'm trying to find ways to stretch them out so it doesn't hurt to run, but maybe I just need to try harder. I really hope I will be ready by the end of April! </div><div><br /></div><div>But besides the races(you know, trying to be in shape like my sister Amanda), I have another sister, Angie, that I'm trying to be like too. She said that she got a white envelope in the mail and her husband laughed at her. Well sis...I got one too! I've been summoned for Jury Selection and maybe even Jury Duty. That will be at the end of this month so we will see what happens. A lot of people hate jury duty or are sad when they get that "awesome" letter in the mail, but as I've been thinking about it...I've always wanted to know what it would be like to be on a jury. But it's kind of intimidating for a little 24 year old to be on a jury to decide someone's fate. But I'm intrigued and I wouldn't mind for my first time to be apart of it. We will just have to wait and see! :) </div><div><br /></div><div>Other than that I'm still just working and laughing at all the cute/funny little kids that come in everyday and staying busy with my callings! Until next time!</div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-8178094454104821432012-01-01T21:54:00.002-07:002012-01-01T22:33:25.222-07:00New year, new me!I first want to warn you all that this may become a really long post as I try to say all that I want to, so bear with me! Also, I'm going to make my blog private again, so if you want to keep reading what I have to say, send me your email! :)<div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><i>HAPPY NEW YEAR!</i></b></div><div><br /></div><div>To start off this new year, I was released from my Activities Committee Chair and called to be the Visiting Teaching Coordinator. I have to change my mind set completely! I guess you know you did your calling well, when you have a lot of people come up to you and tell you how sad they will be that I won't be planning the activities anymore. :) Makes me feel better about myself! Man that was a stressful calling, but totally worth it! I loved it and I'm excited for my new adventures in my new calling. </div><div><br /></div><div>As it is a new year, the New Year Resolutions start coming out. Mom and Angie have asked me what my resolutions are, and I couldn't give an answer. I didn't really know, until I really started thinking about it. I have the usual: loose weight, don't eat as many sweets or drink soda, etc. You know the ones everybody has. But I have one more that I feel inclined to tell you, but I'll get to that in a minute. This past week, and more, I have noticed a sadness growing inside of me. I guess I've kind of always had this. I've been worse this past week-grumpy, annoyed with people, and not knowing what is going on. I've always knew deep down what was wrong and what I needed to do to change, but I've never done anything about it. Till now. </div><div><br /></div><div>I just finished reading this book called Borrowed Light. The setting is in the 1900's and is about a girl from Salt Lake, a Mormon, moving to Wyoming for a job as a cook for a non-Mormon. In the story he asks this girl why she is a Mormon, or why she believes what she does. Her answer? "Because that is what I grew up in. It's all I know." He also asks her why she had to marry in the temple. "Because its what us Mormon's do." Was her answer. She has never had anyone ask her these questions, cause she has never really known anyone that wasn't a member. But it got her thinking that she should know better answers then those. She then realizes that she has never read the Book of Mormon. Bits and pieces yes, but the whole way through no. She has lived all her 26 years leaning on her family's "light". She knew the church was true, because that's what her parents taught her. She has never inquired it of herself. </div><div><br /></div><div>This girl, Julia, is just like me. As I read this book, it got me to really think of all that I need to change to change my attitude. I have never read the Book of Mormon all they way through. I've never inquired of the Lord if it is true. I've never learned for myself. I've always just said that I believed and thought it was true because that was what I learned growing up. It's what I was taught by teachers and family. Yes, I probably can give better answers to some of the questions she was asked, but how can I be a witness to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ if I haven't learned it for myself? So as I tried to figure out why I've been so grumpy, I realized it was because I have been missing this most important piece in my life. </div><div><br /></div><div>So this is my main and most important New Years Resolution: COME UNTO CHRIST! I've always made plans to read the Book of Mormon, but I get some of the way through and get out of habit of reading, or forget where I was and stop reading. Then I have to start over again. Not this time! I'm going the whole way through! I've found a fresh unmarked Book of Mormon and I have my notebook beside me, I'm ready to go. A good incentive to keep me focused is that my ward is doing a Book of Mormon challenge to read the book all the way through from now till April 8th. So I think that will help me keep motivated. </div><div><br /></div><div>I needed to express this to someone and I especially wanted my family to know. Just so that you can be there to encourage me in all that I'm doing. I hope by April or sooner I will become a better person and a better example to my Savior. </div><div><br /></div><div>I love you all and I'm so grateful for you! Thank you for letting me borrow your light. Now I'm off to find my own. </div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-54544008979744636682011-12-07T18:01:00.003-07:002011-12-07T18:12:14.903-07:00Update<div style="text-align: left;">So, I really need to find a way to get in the habit of getting on here once a week, or at least more often then I do! :) But here is an update!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 159px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5O5dYi0i3xTG72F-C-z1c7XoJDK4H0FEcfZzWmtqBXFStJO6ZUVS8uo1LK3qM_q1R8-PlHtHIh4o3XlHfYryJVcDzDVe_bi-lJ7rgfSXQEhOjWmGlbTTCsDzzliwN2q3HVZmK0cp53KZC/s320/2011-11-22+10.46.13.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5683556776207785490" /></div><div>Here is my lovely name tag! I LOVE MY NEW JOB! Ya there are times where it is slow and boring, and i'm not sure what to do, but I love it! I felt so welcomed in, unlike my previous job! I can tell that they really appreciate their employees! Everyone has been really nice and are eager to get to know me. I love the little incentives that have happened, like wearing this name tag got me a $10 gift card to iTunes. One of the doctors one day came up to the front and told us all to order from JCW'S, because he was buying lunch for everyone. Little things like that happen every once in a while, and it just keeps you knowing that you are appreciated for working for them. I love it! Not even because of that, but because of what I do. I went to school for this and I'm actually doing it. I get to see all the cute little kids come in. I get to see all the interesting names parents name their kids..haha! :) </div><div><br /></div><div>Other than finally enjoying what I do, i'm still just working on getting everything ready for my ward Christmas party! Picture this....Live band, catered food from Magelby's, karaoke, dancing, Santa Claus, Photo booth, Ugly sweater contest....how can a party like that not be AWESOME!! :) I'm way excited for this! I'm such a good planner! HA! </div><div><br /></div><div>That's my life right now! So you can say i'm doing pretty good! </div><div><br /></div><div>Till next time!</div><div><br /></div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-81408521023559970622011-11-13T21:10:00.002-07:002011-11-13T21:21:53.011-07:00New job!Hey there! I've been waiting to post on here till I got the good news. I HAVE A NEW JOB! Oh I'm so seriously thrilled to be getting out of the place I'm at. Don't get me wrong, it was a really good learning experience....from how not to run an office and more of the system of internal medicine. <div><br /></div><div>But now...i'm going to the complete opposite! My new job is at Alpine Pediatrics! Oh it's going to be so fun! See all the cute(sick) kids come in and be in a more friendly, welcoming atmosphere! I know a lot of people at this place. Unfortunately none of them work at the office i'm at. Not that I know of anyway. They have three locations. Pleasant Grove, Lehi, and Saratoga Springs. I've been to both PG and Lehi for interviews.....but I will be working in the Saratoga Springs office. I will be working 4 days a week, but luckily be considered full time and get benefits. I feel so good about this job that I think I could be here for a long time! </div><div><br /></div><div>I haven't been this happy for a LONG time! I've finished my schooling and I've got my career! I have an amazing support group from my family and friends. Thank you all for helping me along the way! </div><div><br /></div><div>Now I just need to get through these few activities i'm in charge of planning and I can enjoy the holidays and relax! </div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-90486010042040997962011-10-22T20:03:00.003-06:002011-10-22T20:46:00.015-06:00<div style="text-align: left;">Well I've finally found time to get on here! Now I just need to update you on what has been going on.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div>I finished my externship a week ago, so now I'm officially employed. Well I'm not exactly official yet...they haven't had me sign any papers or anything. I just clock in and hope that I'm actually getting paid. I'm still at my extern site. I haven't been able to find anywhere else to work. But don't worry I'm still looking!! I'm having a hard time working at this place. Dad gave me a challenge to find one good/happy thing about this place each day. Well just this last Friday...there were two good things. One, I learned how to take care of someone that is diabetic that is really low on sugar(that was quite an experience!) and the second happy thing was that it was the weekend. ;) Yup that's how bad it is there! I just sit there scan my files and mind my own business. So I'm just hoping and praying that something will come up that has nothing to do with where I am at now.</div><div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Other than working I've just been busy with my ward calling! They've informed me that I'm being "phased out" with my new co-chair that they have given me. So I have till after our Christmas party to be the Activities Chair. I've loved this calling, though it has been stressful at times I've never felt more involved in any ward I've been. Who knows what is next in line for me, but I'm excited to see what happens. </div><div><br /></div><div>I was finally able to get some time to go up the canyon today to see the fall colors! I LOVE FALL! It's my favorite season! If you want to see pictures go to my other blog: jkiddsdigital.blogspot.com! Pictures to come! ;) AHHH! I'm nervous!</i><b> </b></span></span></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><b><span class="Apple-style-span" ><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 150%;">Hello everyone! Well, </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 19px;">we've</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 150%;"> gone class after class, test after test, but we still have so much more to learn. Dr. Seuss once said,</span> <span style="line-height: 150%; ">“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go.” As for me, this is not the first college I’ve attended, maybe that is the way with some of you, but I couldn’t seem to find the right place. Or maybe I just could figure out what I wanted to do when I grew up. When I finally figured out that I wanted to work in the medical field it was time to search for the right school. I was never a big fan of school so I didn’t want to have to take forever to finish up my degree. I looked at so many different tech schools and smaller colleges, but all they offered was MA programs, and there was no way I was going to go learn how to poke somebody! Then I came across AmeriTech. The only school with a program with exactly what I wanted to be. From then on it all fell into place. Then anatomy started. I was so excited to learn all that information, but at the same time so scared that I wasn’t going to be able to pass that class. I’ve never been in a class so fast paced before and it was anatomy of all classes. It was such a new experience for me and I was more determined to not fail and to learn all that I could. I started loving school so much more. I was excited to go every day! </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 24px; ">Once I got into my core classes it was all so less stressful! With small classes you felt more involved with the class instead of just being there in the class. The teachers were there to help me and I’ve never had that at any other college, and not to mention that the HOS program had a maximum of 4 people. I loved the smaller classes though, we had more fun and were able to ask more questions. <o:p></o:p></b></span></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:150%"><span style="line-height: 150%; "><span class="Apple-style-span" ><b>Being in my program I was able to understand my surroundings when I went to doctor’s offices and hospitals. I loved going into offices and hospitals just observe how they run things, and to think how one day I would be doing that too! And now I am! I’m on my extern right now and it’s a lot more exciting to be there then to be learning about it in school. I didn't have to go to school and I didn't have to work, so it was just a party day for me! My parents kindly took me out to lunch at Cafe Rio and to see the new Pirates movie. (which was good by the way!) After that we came home and I got stuff ready for a fire that I had with some friends. Just yesterday I went out with some of my girlfriends and they took me out to Olive Garden and to see the movie Midnight in Paris. It was a lot of fun! Do I feel older/different? Nope! Just the same! Here are some pics from the fire! </div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 0, 238); -webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: underline; "><br /><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzkh59cNeClGp8T_REbCJ-aEcTAozyQhTJ-zVtwcebPE1RfKjJQVEPH3F5HNsl5L5fq0ORtYiVaZw8xceXDsynZ70X192ItRsFAExxDCa7Px4t9XYTL1H05bERU3l0mv8imdaOttAOp8G2/s320/Birthday+008.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5651256226968646130" /><br /><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsb10MsZWM4Pr1xkkELPXG9YxQQ2Whp3U2ADbYCMUCBJl-srE-G60AnjrQow7FEl2ol88rcdSN11RO58fqJ26X3n4o3ZWvZY-IVhOOiXRFz8b5m4036TQeN5VqGt39c-ejiWMrmCpNZxGO/s320/Birthday+007.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5651256232785539746" /><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeIGWS3wuQ7EjNxT78BEsnk8fGQEEhCQCkbfmc_0RKtZd4Lp6FUf5_Ll0MoFzCNYgTo_8O-vwdmkbgP54RgI_ECmUDsetTHhfF41KfrwkIflhkCTm_hx_sXL1wd5p80Ea-uvdB_ib7ZA9d/s320/Birthday+006.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5651256231421781666" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 240px; " /></span></div><div></div><div style="text-align: left;">Next, I started my externship on friday and it was great! I'm so excited to finally be out working in the field instead of just learning about it! It's at a Internal Medicine Physician's office. It will be quite interesting to learn all the stuff from actually being there point of view. The staff seems really nice and they all seem to have a lot of fun with one another. I work with two daughters of one of the doctors, so that is going to be interesting, but they seem nice! I will have to tell you more as times goes on! Hopefully I will be done by the end of October.</div><div><div><br /></div><div>Also, I GRADUATE ON WEDNESDAY!!! And I have to speak at my graduation! How nervous am I??? I still have no idea what i'm going to say! Any advice would be good! I have to speak for 5 min and just about my experience and what i learned from it!</div></div><div><br /></div><div>Well that is all for now! I will let you know how graduation goes! </div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-88943132312526547652011-08-14T20:14:00.003-06:002011-08-14T20:18:54.848-06:00.......................ALL I CAN SAY RIGHT NOW IS THAT I'M ALMOST DONE WITH SCHOOL!!!!! I can't even wait! I don't know yet where i'm going to be having my extern, but hopefully this week I will find out. Here is my countdown.....<div> <br /></div><div>2 weeks = DONE WITH SCHOOL AND START EXTERN!</div><div><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"> </span>(insert Birthday here!) :)</div><div>2 weeks after that = GRADUATION!!</div><div> <br /></div><div>2 weeks after that = DONE WITH EXTERN AND MOVING ON TO THE REAL JOB! :) </div><div> <br /></div><div>I know this is a short post, but i thought I should at least say something! So here is my something!! </div><div>Love you all! :) </div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-30061558232610681092011-07-24T21:13:00.004-06:002011-07-24T22:04:01.168-06:00Hey there!<img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL0loC9iF4sRUKgK6GKj1QycteF5tNppEP9YKPFMbUIGTPhtdxrZdaklCvhKHS9JHbK3k4-obPIImjEKE2GbkzK0z0XnMJWduzwklG7hOJN5rHorXb9-qzlhlq847FD0vPauQC4DOUu7i1/s320/Family+359.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633130749243724786" /><div style="text-align: left;">So somehow I really need to get into the habit of writing on here each week! That way I won't have so much to tell in one post! Oh well, just a warning this might be a bit lengthy...</div><div><br /></div><div>To start...school is getting closer to the end! Graduation date? SEPTEMBER 14TH!!!! What an awesome late birthday present for me! haha I can't wait! I will be done with classes around the 23rd of August and then I go right into my externship. I don't know where I'm going to be going yet, but I think it will be at an allergist in American Fork or who knows where! I won't really find out for a couple of weeks or so! As for the classes, they are going great! I have longer days on Wednesdays and Thursdays now, I'm taking an Employment Strategies class. We are working on our resume's right now. It's a really easy class, all we really are doing is just learning to be better employee's. I just get butterflies in my stomach thinking how close I am to the end!</div><div>It's quite funny when I tell people that I'm graduating soon, and then they ask me, "What are you going to do next?"....my reply?...."Um..work." Haha What else am I going to do? The reason I'm going to school is to get a job! :) It makes me laugh.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>This past month has been so crazy for me! I've had my sisters and their kids in town and it has just been so fun to hang out with them! It was the first time ever meeting one of my nieces and I just love her to pieces, and miss her a whole bunch all ready! I sure wish you all didn't live so far away! We had so much fun with our family reunions and our girls day! I sure do love my family and love every moment I get to spend time with them! I can't wait till next year when my brother from Hong Kong gets to come and visit!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>I've been doing a lot on my weekends, which has been awesome! I'm very tired and exhausted when Sunday and Monday comes, but it's all so worth it! Lets see what have I done? Gone to the opening showing of Harry Potter, the opening showing of Captain America (these movies have both started at 12:00 a.m.), hiked up horsetail falls, gone to the Days of 47 Rodeo, going to be hiking horsetail falls again next Friday, full weekend of events for my YSA stake this weekend(carnival, dances, comedy shows, workshops, firesides, 5k, etc). I tell ya this month has been quite crazy for me!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div>Here are some pics of all that has gone on!</div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr7OqgEHsVU0tMoNmooceuY0gGK5XacC1955A2BXPy1pa3wpohPpNeECb6MxX-MCamcJ1o9uRWxieIMnisvx-UIIX11bba0p1cb-mu6852D9LV4DRlIF1JMn7NJi86QTHop_U8lUrTT6NK/s320/Family+105.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633127644524062290" /><div><div style="text-align: center;">Me and Sarah! This is a Death Eater. He was the best dressed up as one! It was so fun to watch everyone that dressed up, being a people watcher that i am. There were others like Sirius Black, Moaning Mertle, Bellatrix Lestrange, Tonks and Lupin, house elves, and of course all the Hogwarts students.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu2X7Ul7YVJWIFJc7NPk3X-geW8r14BWOOZOYlevVLOd7N06ZC9eE3cQ0QMTZBVLLbCFJOMzQ1P87PYzgKLIsYWcHLqd2OXrUE-b2nXq4VfwuyrVfD4P1wQZQmPoMfIBCZ_6VZZ9KdxJAP/s320/Summer+013.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633130755852997074" /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">Me and my friend Broc went and hiked up to this waterfall. If it was a movie, you could see that my legs were shaking like crazy! You can see how dirty I am, but if you saw my legs now, there are cuts all over, bruises on my legs, arms, back and butt, cuts on my arms...it was quite a fall. :) But no worries I got up and climbed back out of there and back down the mountain. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhS_VscHgQUCz7z86lPfDfI4ZxIBeqGzFMLGGCdMEr86IKvt5TUn9Ftztaxs11JGnd0cZDPmprqbN0CjthBo2dmrajlUKAfuA_VkN15pd6BjN-K6e1E7N1Asv-eq_P6CAqRfBEMHbPx_64P/s320/Summer+028.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633130769353173090" /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">This is at the Days of 47 rodeo! It's a darn good thing I have something to say! ;) haha Just kidding! Well my ward went to Wyoming this past weekend to spend some time up in Star Valley. We were going to go up and run the snake river...but we cancelled that at last minute. Holy cow that water was moving fast! We drove past it as we were going up to Jackson Hole, and that river was HUGE!! Sooooo much water and parts of trees were floating down and it was MUDDY!! We did see some people rafting down it, crazy people! The waves were ginormous! But let's just hope they all got there safely!</div><div>So we just hung out at some property we stayed at. Played some volleyball, played in the pond(or in my case, get thrown into the pond). We spent a day in Jackson Hole and then went and saw the Bar J Wranglers! They are hilarious! I just love them! If any of you get a chance to see them do it! It's worth it!</div><div style="text-align: center;"> <img src="http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRRmJsiYQrEOxRuo1LzfnwfiH7c2j7-L9nEC1s3Ljj5kHSUpvda" /></div><div>Then we did a little service project for the guy that owns the property we were at and came home! It was a lot of fun! </div><div>Now it's time to go back to school and have my sisters come in to town!! I so can't wait to see them and their kids!! We are going to have a blast while you are all here! I've missed you all so dearly! See you soon!!</div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigaduqvG8UGbHFciU_5cTxNkyT0JL5XJqyRf_ULnr-tYETlLqIDAjXVcNenoFMDD0H2dew8Uf34DlVrWMTMEXzxpssjmiXO0ervMyg-RWmwC5-tG8lMlJgNQcwNez2eCHt7oZUKltv2itd/s320/Wyoming+037.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5622735820463804354" /><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8W_zpvq246ygQQ1MWkB9W0kVHR9UKiJxI3vwU8L85c7Tx0f_G0gwGF25FiHMsdLfojEk9nkoR-f6vT_EPKK9mhhtNSltdThZs_oMx1vQHA3oKxrpo4MQbXty0uDupcljKaf2Bi_JldxGX/s320/Wyoming+034.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5622735819451204738" />Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-18438473582804808672011-06-19T20:50:00.005-06:002011-06-19T21:16:44.575-06:00HEY!!<div style="text-align: left;">So I guess I need to be more diligent in posting on here. My life really isn't that exciting. I don't have kids to talk about or husbands/wives to talk about. My life is usually the same thing each week. Maybe a bit differences going on on the weekends. But Josh told me that I needed to put something on here so here I go!</div><div><br /></div><div>I guess I can start with that I love this time of year! Why? Because of all the RODEOS of course!! I just can't get enough of them! I don't know why I love them so, but I just do! I guess it all started with watching Bull Riding with Dad on Sunday's! That was one of my favorite things to do Sunday nights with my Daddy! We haven't done that in a LONG time, but I won't ever forget it! I guess I got to a point of wanting to watch the bull riding in real life. I'm lucky to have so many rodeos around me that i can go to. I've got the system down to an art! When to buy tickets, where to sit, what rodeos aren't as good as the others, parking, what to wear...ya know all of it! :) I am most excited this year because I've always wanted to go to the Days of 47 rodeo, cause I hear it is awesome, and I actually get to go this year! I got good seats at a good price! I'm just so excited! :)</div><div><br /></div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI1NZ1sofWk_e0HSVQWY9oVzj1y3vQqr72E0d2ApG4DZv7H75EHoLEgNs_6BRF688jIMjiar1HbL36YnsYhw-ymX0YSXm6JfW2aBC1Ha3cSOA6k49P3B8PQ3f3yLoKCjo3xvq4mxnmz1T0/s320/Rodeo+2011+002.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 306px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620130627261101858" /><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgRVfL-Gjdv9ld1EZzU_LfaLedRK_buuOvqDn2gmbm-uDZOuDB-rrZFmB-ZmOKR46daObKYVH1_MNoXGT8Ds8XCHGiqaH8NbYTTxUFU5KSJGzWY5-_BNTOTzf4JHbZGi_1iLzFDSXLQNr95/s320/Rodeo+2011+013.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620130642704613058" /><div><div style="text-align: left;">My rodeo buddies for the first rodeo of the season! Nicole has never been to a rodeo before, so her mom(though hating rodeo's) brought her along with us so she could experience a rodeo with someone who likes them i guess! :) It was a lot of fun to have them with me! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">As of school, things are going smoothly! I'm learning so much! Much more then I ever thought I would be learning. I'm very proud of myself of how much I'm remembering and how well i'm doing! I've gotten all A's or A-'s and only one B+(which one percentage away would have been an A-)! Right now I've been learning in depth about coding. For those of you who don't know, coding is a type of billing I guess you could say. Every procedure you do at a hospital or doctor's office will have a code(set of numbers) to go with it so the insurance company will know what you are charging for. But it gets tricky..cause you have to use the right code or the insurance company will reject the claim. So we have been going through each body system learning how to code everything! There are different ways to code, and you have modifiers to make them more specific and this and that...it gets to be a lot to put in one's mind, but surprisingly I'm doing pretty well! I believe I will still be learning coding till July sometime, then I have a few more classes to take till I go on my extern(intern) in October! It is coming so fast! I'm a little nervous but also can't wait to be done with school and have graduated from college! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">I love the feeling of doing something with my life! I was afraid at first when I was working at the Credit Union that that would be all that I would do. I could have worked my way up in the Credit Union and become manager and whatnot, but I just didn't feel like I was really doing anything. I thought about going on a mission, but that just didn't feel right for me. Then I thought about going back to school, just for the heck of it to do something then just sit at work. I hope now that when I'm done with school and start working full time again I wont have the feeling come back. Maybe my next step after graduating from college is finding a husband! :) Ya? haha That will be another accomplishment. Who knows! I just love this feeling of having a goal in mind that I know I can achieve and I'm working hard to reach it! I'm actually doing something with my life then not doing anything at all! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Wow...so I don't really know where that came from but there you go. I just let my fingers go till their hearts content! Hope you all didn't fall asleep reading this(if you're still reading it). I'm going to try my hardest to put something on here each week, even if it is only a couple of lines! Just to let you all know that I'm still here and doing alright! </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Until next time!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-19886567505143329802011-05-08T09:12:00.007-06:002011-05-09T19:57:22.104-06:00California!<div style="text-align: center;">Well I have had a very relaxing 2 weeks! Wednesday I'm back to school! It went by so fast! Mine and my Mom's trip to Cali was so fun! I wish it had lasted longer! Our hotel was right next to the beach. We were 5 min away from Dana Harbor! That place was so cool! We went shopping there and went on a whale watching boat! My first time going on a boat out on the ocean! I loved it! We went 7 miles out from the shore and were looking for whales, but all we found were dolphins!! And lots of them! There were probably about 100 of them! It was the coolest thing I have ever seen! It has been something I have wanted to do ever since I was little.</div><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvJrA5NRmaBxB7q-AuwEiorZR_wEN5MZBvdIEZq29Vf2Tx9qFTTE7DljHXixPa6fWMOiDgD4VrnJnIyfKTYFQY4lr2GdPzgyyHxFtPSJGHMSyXhyjqahOAnV4bUHtJJxwcXIEaYNyIlG8H/s320/CA+2011+084.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604365260162361330" /><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDQeSis1aGNznQ3pXWwzgJ_14MWRqHkdGEdZSRvEYq8uI9AUKiLMN7OIXE_uYP8dJRYiQiijcSZIbSAvVRTwZ47FabxVBtxbWtPd90T3nUA373g_W6g2_txI4_46BI6lwd7kMVbSB2qiwY/s320/CA+2011+088.jpg" style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604364724677808786" /><div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div>We were then able to cross one more thing off my bucket list...see the Hollywood sign up close! I'm coming up to my finals then I get a two week break! Me and my Mom are going to take a trip to CALIFORNIA for a few days! I'm so so so excited! I can't even wait! This trip will do me all sorts of good! ;) I need to get away and what a better way to get away but to go to the BEACH! I'm way excited as well because we are going to go and find the Hollywood sign! I've been wanting to go there since I was little! I guess you can say that I will be crossing this off my bucket list! ;) We are also going to see Lion King in Las Vegas! I saw it in Broadway in New York and I absolutely loved it! I can't wait to see it again! <div><br /></div><div>School is going good. I've decided that I don't want to work in a dentist office. Haha! We have been working with charting and learning all about the dentistry office work. I. hate. charting. :) I just cant get it right and i hate doing something that I cant understand. This is finally something that my friend Ruth(in my class) is better at then me! She likes to remind me at times too! haha I think i'm just going to stick with a hospital or a doctor's office. :) Who knows...maybe I might actually find an eye doctor that I can work for. Who knows where my road is going to take me. :) But I'm sure excited to find out!!</div><div><br /></div><div>HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A HAPPY EASTER!!! LOVE YOU ALL!</div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-83807484213045354102011-03-23T18:20:00.004-06:002011-03-23T18:38:07.206-06:00Wow..Wow...it sure has been a really long time since i posted on here! Sorry about that! I guess I have just been busy busy with school since January. Which I have! <div><br /></div><div>School has been really good! I've all ready gone through one term...4 more to go! It went by so fast it was crazy! I learned so much in such a little time. I didn't think I could do it but I passed all of my classes with flying colors! Not all A's....2 out of 3 is just fine with me! I got a B+ in my Anatomy class..one percentage away from an A-. So i did pretty good. Better then I though I would do! Doing those classes was a good experience for me and it's good to be back into school...now I just can't wait to be done! HA!! Right now my classes are pretty easy. I really only have one class, but we just work on different things all day long. I will have the same teacher for the rest of the time, and she is great! I love her! Right now we are working on getting our 10 key speed up, working in excel and getting comfortable with it, learning about all the paper work in an office(claims, insurance, billing, scheduling, etc). We also have been learning the computer program that all health care offices, except dental, uses. It's called Medisoft. It's really easy to use once you get the hang of it and know your way around. </div><div>Being the youngest out of 4 in my class...I guess you could say i'm more technological smart then the others. If that made sense. I know my way around the computer and programs, and the other ladies are usually asking me how do to something. It's quite hilarious at times. I don't mean to be faster at assignments then the others..it kind of just happens. :) There are times when we are doing problems with excel or our 10-key and they all ask me first what I got to make sure they have the same answer and then they will see if it's right. haha It just makes me laugh. </div><div><br /></div><div>Other then school I don't really do a whole lot. I'm still the Activities Chair in my ward so I have lots of stuff to do with that...especially this coming summer to plan our big summer activity. Sometimes it can get pretty stressful....especially when me and my council plans something, but the bishopric will come to me and tell me how they want the activity done a certain way or that they have planned it doing it a different way then what we all ready planned. I just smile and nod my head and go along with it. Not much I can do, just be there to help with whatever they need. It gets quite annoying at times and I wonder why I'm even in the calling, but I get over it fast and move on. More things to plan! ;) </div><div><br /></div><div>So that's been my life lately. I'm currently trying to get over my bronchitis that I happened to pick up after being so stressed from finals! Doesn't even surprise me though. I knew I was going to get sick after being so stressed. It happens every time! But hopefully I will be better in a few days! One can only hope I guess! :)</div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-12181247610428785072011-01-13T13:53:00.002-07:002011-01-13T14:04:36.533-07:00<div style="text-align: left;"> <img src="http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRfiVj7nj6odHDd2ftZ8xh-A4XX-vQTMi5p7277z2pQmTyXlgjkNA" /></div><div>Well it's start of a new year and lots of changes have happened! First, I'm back to school full time! I'm going to AmeriTech. The degree i'm going into is Healthcare Office Specialist. In other words i will be doing management, insurance, billing and coding..stuff like that. I don't know what type of office i will be in, whatever doctors office will hire me I guess. :) I started classes yesterday, and boy are these coming weeks going to be stressful. I'm taking Anatomy/Physiology, Medical Terminology, and Therapeutic Communications. The first two classes are going to be a killer!!! Lots and lots to learn and memorize in such a little time! After the first term then i start all the computer classes and such so it will be smoother i believe. </div><div><br /></div><div>Second, I no longer work at the credit union. I'm now employed by American Fork Fitness Center..once again. :) I only work there part time, so it's nice to be able to have time to do my homework and get other things done! </div><div><br /></div><div>This year i believe will be a good year! I'm finally doing something worthwhile! I'm getting a degree and moving on to start my career. I'm sure hoping that 2011 will continue to be a good year for me! One can only hope right? :) </div>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2737181039959899826.post-14020272532750505812010-12-19T21:02:00.000-07:002010-12-19T21:06:08.363-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyGw8xg_t4IBb2iK4ab_CTFV3EExIaNvnjOqgBtgEVeOVPN4GscpRHulRYmd1cs6JAA_trgY_VUPHeZwNWzgvjvXV-kF4Csx8aWk9nlvZ-Dxa5UxcOBNXVIdqK19lLZjxQqnhEYF44-MWc/s1600/Christmas+003.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyGw8xg_t4IBb2iK4ab_CTFV3EExIaNvnjOqgBtgEVeOVPN4GscpRHulRYmd1cs6JAA_trgY_VUPHeZwNWzgvjvXV-kF4Csx8aWk9nlvZ-Dxa5UxcOBNXVIdqK19lLZjxQqnhEYF44-MWc/s320/Christmas+003.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5552610728137289554" /></a>Jessica Kiddhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03503443678946971211noreply@blogger.com1
