Thanks so much for sharing. So many people's lives are touched with anxiety/depression as well as suicide, and it's such an unnecessary stigma. I respect people's privacy, no one should have to share if they don't want to, but kudos to folks like you who speak out and share your own experiences. It means so much to know we're not alone.

I've known for a long time about the depression, but the anxiety part is a relatively new acknowledgement. some days are easier than others to muddle through. you phrased it brilliantly when you said you felt "tethered" to this world. sometimes I feel tethered to my body. Ha! I have totally bought some crazy stuff and thanked my lucky stars for keeping the receipt. And I agree with the waiting period. Even after the purchase feels warranted, I keep all the tags on, with the receipt, and live with the item for a few days before deciding if it's really staying.
