2008 WIR List

Context: Women In Refrigerators

Michael Paciocco puts together a piece entitled "2008: The Year of Misogyny"

It's an interesting read that's a weird mixture of thoughtful inflection and weak knee jerk reactions.

But I will say that if you have nothing to add and nothing to criticize, then you aren't reading and certainly not paying attention.
Because for all intents and purposes I can't believe that somehow the whole thing with Tigra got missed (and lets not go back and revisit that whole Checkout thing), but at the same time how can a fanbase stand up and point a finger at the Big Two because for it's treatment of female characters when it couldn't take the time to support a book with a positive depiction of women in that fanbase's standards but points at the Big Two again for canceling such a book for low sales (especially one that has a positive, respectiveful depiction of women, gays and various races).
Because lets face it, because it is like voting, if you're not supporting the good and positive then you're compounding the negative.
