The time has come for us to prepare for 2026 at Georgia State Parks on the Air. We have a new category for 2026, too!
We were asked if a TEAMS category would be possible for those folks that like to operate together, and the GASPOTA team is delivering this year. If you like to work in tandem with your best bud or your spouse, this is the category for you should you choose to accept this mission. The full details are explained in the latest FAQ.
We also changed the more than just the year for several reasons; We changed to the third weekend in April to align our contest with Support Your Parks weekend and to avoid Easter Sunday.
Registration is now open for 2026. Go ahead and start making plans for our fourth annual Georgia State Parks on the Air Contest!
Click on the Rules & Register link in the top horizontal toolbar to see the rules and FAQ and to register for 2026.

It takes time and money for us to put this event on. Between website hosting and domain registration to travel to various events for publicity, money is the river that takes us to our destination. We are not for profit, but offsetting the costs above plus awards is a big help to keep the wheels turning. If you find some spare change in a couch cushion, please consider helping us out.

ABOUT US
On April 1-2, 2023, we conducted the first annual Georgia State Parks on the Air event. The event is quite simple: merging the list of official state parks as published by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources with the list of Georgia parks at http://pota.app yields 52 parks within the state. The objective of this contest is to enlist enough individual hams, clubs, and ARES groups to fan out across the state and activate all 52.
Support POTA
Please consider supporting Parks on the Air by making a donation on their website. Without the support and development of the Parks on the Air program, the Georgia State Parks on the Air event would not be possible.
