(as in full on real tears)

ask them if they want to go swimming!! ;-)

Macks got over all his fears and anxiety with swimming

While watching the kids one night....Bill told the kids that if they could all memorize the Real Salt Lake Fight Song....then he would take them to a game. A few hours on youtube with this video on repeat....all 4 kids had it down pat!
So off we went!

Horse Therapy

Macks is doing Horse Therapy this summer with his speech therapist Miss Emily. He was a little nervous at first....but now looks forward to it all week! If I say too much about it....I'll just start crying. It's been amazing to see the progress and improvement he's made with his speech and anxiety! THANK YOU MISS EMILY!

Marley turns THREE

A month ago....
Better late than never, right?

We kind of like this one & are thinking we'll keep her...

She loves anything to do with Babies, Princesses, and Strawberry Shortcake. She loves teenie tiny things that can fit into a box, a cup, or a bag. She still loves to display her art work all over the walls of our home. She says "Oh. My. Heck!" cuter than anyone else in the universe. She wants to live outside....in the sun, rain, or snow. She is obsessed with hair and if you are holding her or near her, she is petting your hair or trying to put it in a pony-tail. She loves to sing and make messes. And she asks for a doughnut or cookie for every meal....getting her to eat anything else is work.

My mom and sisters helped me re-do Marley's room because she's been in Macks' Cowboy room for the past 3 years. Whoops! It's not quite done....because I am slacking on the one tiny job my mom gave me.....but here's a sneak peak of the quilt my mom made her:

Dear Cody,

Marley was only 3 weeks old when you died.
You never even held her.
When I tried to drop her into your arms just a few days before you left us.....you refused to hold out your hands and said you'd hold her when she got a little bigger. You didn't keep your word.....you butthead!

Marley carries around a picture of you.
She keeps it in her purse or her toy basket.
She prays for you......
"Me sanksul for CoCo and Jesus."
She loves you....
and she knows you.
Like she really, really knows you!

I walk into her room the other day.....
(we hadn't been talking about you at all that day....
so what I found completely surprised me)
She's by herself, laying on her tummy on her floor,
and she's got five pictures of you laying in front of her.....
(I still have no idea where she got them?!?)
and she's crying.
Full on real tears.
Running right down her cute little chubby cheeks.
Did I mention she's barely 3?

She looks up at me and says,
"Me yant CoCo to hold me so me can seel his bird"
(TRANSLATION: "I want CoCo to hold me so I can feel his beard")

She does LOVE to feel hair....
It's quite an obsession for her....

Of course I broke down crying myself.
I picked her up and we sat on her bed and
talked about you. I told her that you loved her....
and that she'd be able to feel your beard one day soon
up in Heaven. I told her that I missed you too.

She then said, "Me yant CoCo to see my new bed."
(Nani worked very hard to give her the cutest new room for her birthday last month)
I assured her that you could see her bed from Heaven....
and that you loved it and thought it was so pretty....
I told her you probably even laughed and called Nani and I names
when we were trying to paint her room.....
because we are quite the painting noobs compared to her Uncle CoCo.

More than 3 years after you've been gone....
the tender mercies from Heaven are still pouring in.....
helping our broken hearts,
helping us feel you near,
and bringing us the much needed moments of peace and comfort.

We love you.
We miss you terribly.
We pray for you daily.
And we can't wait to be with you again!

run the customer service end of a new company.

Just sent my first born child off
to his FIRST scout camp.

The Klondike.

In the snow. Without his mom. Just men and boys.

WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!?!

I took everything on his packing list....

then tripled it...

Labeled individual bags:

"wear when you get to camp"

"wear when you're eating dinner....

'"wear after you're done playing in the snow"

"wear to bed"

"wear when you wake up and eat breakfast"

"wear when you play in the snow again"

"wear when you drive home"

I didn't want the child getting confused!!! :)

I dropped him off at the church.

I made him give me a hug....

in front of his friends.

He rolled his eyes...

"Mooooooom! Really?"

BREAKDOWN

I may have had a teeny tiny, itsy bitsy, emotional break down this past Sunday.

I was sick with the flu and could hardly keep my head up and my eyes open.....

Bill and Madden were out of town.

I spent 5 1/2 hours on my stupid work computer trying

to get some time off the next day......

(I was scheduled to work 14 hours on Monday....

one of the perks for working for Jetblue is the

ability to TRY to get work off the day before....)

But to no avail. I got zero minutes off.

I broke down in tears and left

my other three children to fend for themselves

and crawled into my bed around 5:30pm

feeling VERY sorry for myself!

Mason woke me up around 10pm.

"Mom, Macks and Marley ate dinner,

we watched two Disney movies,

I brushed both their teeth, put them in their

jammies, and made them both go pee.

And now I'm climbing in bed....

just wanted to let you know."

I cried some more....

but this time I wasn't feel sorry for myself at all.

I was feeling extremely blessed to have such a great kid.

The next morning I wake up and find this

on the kitchen counter:

I wept some more!

I dare you to find a more responsible,

(NOT when it comes to remembering to bring home his lunchbox from school, or turning in his homework....but when it comes to the IMPORTANT stuff ;)

kind-hearted, thoughtful

11 year old kid anywhere else on this planet!

COOKIES

but I have mastered the art of chocolate chip cookies.

(and remember, this is MY art, not yours!

My helper in crime has discovered the joys of brown sugar. Now before I show you proof, allow me to let you in on a little secret.....

As a little girl, (I don't know exactly how old...but basically my whole childhood that I can remember)

I would get myself a paper baking cup out of the cupboard, FILL it....as in PACK it FULL....of brown sugar. Then proceed to my spot on the couch and watch T.V. while I ate my brown sugar.

I want to throw up a little bit thinking back on it....but man was it good, and man I was blessed with good teeth....because they should have rotted and fell out long ago.

I had to share this memory with Marley the other day.

And now I'm in trouble.

For the first time in 11 years and 4 kids I had to put a child proof door knob thingy majjiger on my pantry door. She can't stay away.

"Don't yock me IN da panty!" she yells at me ten million times a day...."I won't do it again! I promise!" I don't know what "it" is she is referring to....It's either climbing to the 4th shelf and getting hidden candy, helping herself to the brown sugar, playing in the bag of rice....or flour....or breaking up bag after bag of ramen noodles....finding the leftover fireworks

from the summer....

But either way, she's locked OUT.

And I like it!

And I like my cookies too!

And so does the helper...

Maybe too much....

And then we had Christmas....

We started out our fun with a family sleepover
at my parents. Pulled all the mattresses out of
the bedrooms and layed them down the hallway!!

Christmas morning we had church at 9am.
So mean mom and dad wouldn't allow gift
opening until afterwards. We somehow
managed to get straight to gift opening when
we got home....without even changing out of
our clothes. Which is a miracle for our family.
We all have our church clothes off before we even
walk up the stairs to our bedrooms most sundays!

The BEST Christmas gift EVER this year was finding
the magical powers of the camera timer. Not sure why
or how....but my children (including Bill) can sit still,
smile cute, and create the perfect family photo
if no one is behind the camera!! Go figure!
We took TWO pictures people. Only TWO!
And we got this one....and I'm in love!

Macky got a DSi. The only thing he wanted!
He was all smiles!

and didn't move the rest of the day.
Not even to take off his church clothes.

Marley got all sorts of useful materials to help
her with her quest to destroy our home....

Make-up

Princesses (believe me....she'll find a
way to use these....)

and WASHABLE paint.

Grandma Lyn came over for lunch and some games!

Mason and Madden asked for cell phone or a lap top.
And if that wasn't possible....a Xbox.
Mrs. Clause is ready to rip out her hair and throw
herself on the floor in a 2 year old like fit
if we have to purchase one more game system.
You would think the 6 we have would be satisfactory.....
but no. Every stinkin 2 years it is "do-or-die" if we don't
get the latest and greatest.....
but I'm told by all male figures in my life that that is just
the way it goes and to get used to it.
Grrrrrrrrr!

They sat like this for an entire week. Three days
into it I asked them to shower and get dressed and
you'd think I had asked them to cut off both arms.

"But where are we going?"

"No where!"

"So then why do we need to move?"

"Because I'm the mom and I said so!"

Drama, drama, drama!
Glad school is back in session and their brains are de-mushing!

And the second best Christmas present is the fact that I haven't had to shovel the driveway ONCE and it's January!! Plus I spent 3 hours at the lake with my kids today. Walking on the ice (shhhh-don't tell), feeding ducks, finding cool rocks and sticks, dropping big rocks off the bridges to see if we could break the ice, laying on the grass in the warmth of the sun! All in jeans and long sleeve shirts! I'm in heaven! I could use more Utah winters like this!

Meeting Santa

Getting ready for our ward Christmas Party.
Of course the "teenagers" were out
doing something way more important....

Just eating a delicious (and harmless) cookie....
When all of a sudden....

Wait for it....

The big man arrives!

We waited in line for what seemed like FOREVER....
and the sadness never faded.

Boy even tried to cheer her up and make her smile....

but meeting that big ole' bearded man was
just as horrible as she had imagined....

So to make up for the traumatizing night....
we drove around and looked at Christmas lights
for a good hour....

"Yosty the No-man," and the "Ho-Ho's"
were the biggest hit!
("Ho-Ho's" as in Santa Clause....the fake ones of course....
as in plastic blown up fake ones...
not the dressed up human fake ones)

And that was WAY more fun and not half as SCARY!!

Catching up.....again

Geez! I keep waiting for things to slow down....but they don't!

MASON performed a play at school about Paul Revere.

I had a bad seat and ended up being more entertained

by the audience than the actual play itself.

Watching adults hold up cell phones to record

is just plain comical if you ask me!

We made sure to get an "after" photo with the

supporting sibs....and that's all that really matters

MACKS had a preschool Christmas performance.

The fact that he stood with the kids, actually moved his

mouth to sing, and smiled with that many people

staring at him was miraculous!

and he only got embarrassed a few times....

with his proud brothers at the end!!

Our BFF's the LODERS came into town from Hawaii.

We met and had a delicious dinner at their

restaurant of choice....Del Taco!?!?!

I know...I know...but clearly Hawaii doesn't have

Del Taco and they like it!

Plus...we were the only ones there and the

place play entertained the kids for a good 2+ hours!

Look what the 4 of us have created?!?!

And last but certainly not least.....

MARLEY became potty trained!!

She's technically been ready for a long time,

but the mother of this house knew that this stubborn,

independent, and busy girl would give her a run for her money.

And boy has she!!

She purposely waits to go when I'm not watching....

because she needs to do it

"BY MYSELF CAUSE ME IS A BIG GIRL!"

And big girls wipe themselves,

(think clogged toilets and messy toilet seats)

wash their hands by themselves,

(think sinks FULL to the top of foaming soap)

touch every surface possible in a public restroom

(even with their mother shouting, "Put your hands in the air.
Up high! Do NOT touch a single thing!")

and leave their mother thinking....

I would WAAAY rather change a diaper full of

man poop (Bill's name for it)

than deal with all of this!!!

Buuuuttt - it was time.

The very best part of being potty trained?!?

Laying out EVERY pair of clean undies EVERY morning

and taking 10 minutes to decide which ones to wear!

Oh the excitement and joy!!

Advice.....

When I was pregnant with my first child

I was given more advice that my poor brain could hold.

-Sleep when your baby sleeps

-They grow up so fast.....enjoy every minute

-There is no such thing as spoiling a newborn....

don't set them down

-Don't eat chocolate when you're nursing....

it'll upset your babies tummy

-Establish good routines early on

-Set a good example to your kids

-Find teaching moments in every day experiences

-Sleepovers are evil...don't let your kids have them

-Have the birds and the bees talk earlier than you think

-Feed them 2 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday

starting at 4 months old and

they'll never turn them down if you are consistent

And on and on and on.....

What ya''ll forgot to tell me....

WAS THAT CHILDREN HIT THEIR TEENAGE YEARS

WELL BEFORE AGE 13

Why did everyone forget to mention that one?

Because it's throwing me for a loop!!

My boys have officially hit their teenage years at age 9 and 11.

I was SURE I had a few more years....but clearly I don't.

It all started in the summer when I overheard them

talking with a friend and saying,
"It's so dumb we have to have our mom's come to the pool

with us! It's not like we don't know how to swim by ourselves!

It'd be WAAAAY better if they weren't here!"

(Clearly they don't appreciate their overly prepared mother being at the pool with them.....re-applying sunscreen every hour, making them drink 8 ounces of water every 2 hours, making them sit and rest for a few minutes every hour so they don't get a muscle cramp and drown, and reminding them not to run around the pool.....I mean GEEZ!)

Then comes the first day of school:

"You don't need to come to school with us. We know what we are doing."

"Yah, just stay home mom. We're fine!"

Then the increased amount of sighing and the rolling of eyes

when asked to lift a finger to help out around the home.

Then insisting on going trick-or-treating JUST with their friends....

and using pillow cases instead of orange plastic pumpkins.

Then came actually having to wake them up in the mornings.....

"Can't I just skip school today?"

"I'm too tired! I only slept for like 3 hours last night!" (riiiiight!)

"It's still dark outside....leave me alone!"

I eventually tried waking them up by opening up their blinds

and singing songs to them.....

Like the one from girls camp....

"Arise and shine and give God your glory....glory!"

They didn't like that ONE BIT!

They out eat Bill and me every meal.

Then comes their blasted Christmas list this year:

#1- A Lap Top

#2 - A cell phone

(In which I replied...."Good try! Maybe when you go off to college....and not a minute sooner!)

I don't do teenagers.

I do babies....and toddlers.

I do diapers, runny noses, cuddling, and reading stories.

I sing songs, play with play dough, and learn ABC's.

I kiss boo-boo's, and encourage sharing.

I watch Sesame Street and I take naps!

I don't do stinky, grouchy, sleepy

moody, stubborn, teenagers!

Especially not at age 9 and 11!!

HELP!!

We have problems.....

When Bill grew his beard out for 9 months.....

and I had to BEG and PLEAD and THREATEN for it to come off....

and then when it finally did, it had to go in ugly phases....

I began to think that maybe we have a problem here....

But when 2 months later THIS is
STILL sitting on the bathroom counter....

(a beard....in a freakin bag!)

I KNEW we had some issues!!

When I've been begging Madden for months
to please let me cut HIS ugly mop

and I'm met with:
"This is MY head and I can do whatever I want with it!"

"I don't tell you what to do with YOUR hair."

"Don't even talk to me about getting a hair cut
because it's not gonna happen!"

I realize the problem is contagious and is spreading to other members of this family.

I finally hit the end of my rope and am being a very mean mom and not giving my 9 year old son any choice in the matter. He's in tears because I'm MAKING him cut his hair....then Dad has to swoop in and save the day. He whispers something in Madden's ear and Madden happily and willingly says he'll get a hair cut....but ONLY if DAD gets to cut it.

I give Bill the look of death....as in,

"You better freaking just cut his hair normally
and make it look good or else."

20 minutes later:
"MOM, come check out my sweet hair cut!
And bring the camera!"

I gave Bill another evil look....as in,

"You aren't getting any for a really long time!"

Madden is thrilled to death, Bill is as proud as can be,

and I've officially realized that the Fronce boys have

serious issues when it comes to hair....and I don't

have one bit of control over it.

The next day as I drop Madden off at school looking like this,

I sarcastically say to him...."I hope no one makes fun of you!"

He rolls his eyes and says, "Pa-lease mom! No one is going

to make fun of me. It's sweet! They'll be jealous."

Madden earns one point for good self esteem.

I lose one point for for losing, yet again, another battle with Madden.

Bill cleaned our bathroom yesterday.

Beard in a bag disappeared.

I didn't dare comment on how grateful I was....

out of fear he'd pull it right back out of the garbage can

and sit it back on the counter.

But then today I opened up the bottom drawer in our bathroom and found this:

Mason had a birthday shout horray!

He's eleven. Eleven years old!
Do you even understand how old that is?
I mean....he's had one, two, three, four, five,
six, seven, eight, nine, ten, and eleven birthdays!!
He might as well be getting married tomorrow.
I've had enough of this getting older thing....

But until my magic "stop growing powder" is perfected,
I'll just have to deal with it.

Madden bought him a Bayblade remote control thingy majigger.

I bought him his favorite candy....
and felt really cool when he kindly reminded
me after he opened them.....
that he can't eat caramels now that he has braces.
BIG WHOOPS!!
(I told him just to suck on them and he'd be fine.
He ate the whole bag!)

Uncle Colter got him the book he's been waiting for forever...

And Nani and Papa bought him a kindle....
and he's in love!

But his FAVORITE gift was his COUSIN
Piper that was born on his birthday!!

All three of these cute kids were born on the same
day....just years apart!

NOVEMBER 15, 2011

These 2 jokers had a BABY!!!
What an incredible experience this was for me.
I was able to be in the delivery room and
watch my niece be born.
And yes...it made me baby hungry like crazy!!

Curry and I got into quite the fight exactly 11 years ago
when I was having my first baby and she REFUSED
to leave the delivery room when it was time for me
to push....simply because it was HER birthday!
So I didn't even give her the option of not letting
me come in!

Caddy and I were the photographers and Nani
was a pushing helper.

Which Curry really didn't need any help with.
She was a PRO and Piper Jody was born
after pushing for only 13 minutes!!

Tim and Janessa came to play in November!
It was so fun to see baby Sadie again!

Uncle Larry was sick with cancer and
was nearing the end of his battle.
Family from all over the country came in to
spend time with him and his family.
It was a wonderful wonderful few weeks seeing
family we don't get to see very often.

Uncle Larry had this remote control car thingy that you built from scratch.
(oh Bill would be so disappointed that I called it a car thingy....
but I can't remember what it was really called.
He's been dreaming, researching, and talking about this thing
for weeks. He loved it and wants one of his own!)
He had gotten too sick to finish it on his own, so the boys pitched in to help
so he could drive it before he passed away.

FOOTBALL COMES TO AN END

I was looking forward to this day since the first day of tryouts....

But now that it's here I am sad.

-I'll miss watching my little man get dressed up in his pads.

-I'll miss hearing him come home from practice telling me all the good plays he made.

-I'll miss getting the whole family dressed up in our football gear and going to games.

-I'll miss jumping up and down, running down the side lines screaming & cheering like a crazy lady! It made me feel young.

-I'll miss Madden's coaches and the incredible way they taught these boys.

-I'll miss driving he and his 2 friends to practice and overhearing them talk about the games, the coaches, and their strategy.

-I'll miss him turning around backwards and asking me how much on his hair was covering his name on the back of his shirt.....and asking how much longer do I think it'll take until his hair covers ALL of his name!

Yes....we were even lucky enough to play in a few inches of snow...

Finally stole Coach Josh's hat. It was his season long goal!

Their team came in second place....
only losing two games all year....
to the same stinkin' team!

At the end of the season,
they were invited to a tournament in Nevada!!

So off we went!!

Came in 2nd place.....again!

I never thought I would say this.....
but I can't wait until next year!!
