The Boutique Bed and Breakfast

On the way up, you can see pots of different herbs on each side of the stairs going all the way up. I think it's such a cute and practical idea!

Small and intimate, with only 7 rooms designed for couples, Boutique looks exactly like what I wish my bedroom looks like. The lobby is done in whites and rich browns with a small chandelier and a huge high-backed armchair to temper the stark modernity of the interior.

Their 7 rooms are built around the stages of love, so each room has a name like i lust, i dream, i surrender, etc. We were able to see the i surrender room, which is the biggest room they have. I didn't get a picture but the room was really cozy and filled with a huge bed! the bed linens were a very luxurious pale blue, and there was a flat screen tv and an iPod dock built in already. The room also had a closed in veranda with a hammock and a bathroom with a see-through door from the bedroom. It's definitely a room built for couples!

Our main purpose for this visit was to try their famous hawaiian baby-back ribs, which they claim is the best! We headed straight outside to their restaurant, which was designed to perfectly complement the interiors. The room quickly filled up after i snapped this picture. :)

Their menu was a fusion of Hawaiian-Filipino-Western, which explains the interesting appetizer we chose, the Spam Masubi. Yes. Spam! A local favorite wrapped in nori and served with teriyaki sauce. Surprisingly delicious and different. The addition of teriyaki sauce makes you feel like it's not Spam you're eating.

Of course since they bragged about their Original Hawaiian Baby Back Ribs, we had to order it. Nick chose this dish for himself. It's BBQ ribs roasted in their homemade sweet and tangy sauce, served island style! Nick said it really was good, but he wouldn't say it's the best. :)

Nick also ordered Fresh Coconut Juice, which at P120 made my mom say we could have bought 12 pieces outside for the same price. At least it was presented nicely!

Martin wanted to order something different so he chose the Island's Best BBQ Beef Ribs, and according to their menu, it's smoked beef ribs roasted the old-fashioned way. Martin said the dish was really good, but the order was too small, haha!

The parents shared an order of Char-Grilled Fish in Banana Leaf. i didn't taste it but they said it was good.

I was trying to eat lighter already and there was one section on the menu that looked interesting - Hawaii's Famous Streetcorner Pocket Sandwiches. The accompanying photo showed food wrapped in what looked like a banana leaf, so I was quite excited. One of the choices was Boracay's Famous Chori-Burger and I couldn't wait to see how they were going to wrap it up. Imagine my disappointment when I received a typical looking burger with chopped chorizo bits inside. It was such a letdown that i didn't appreciate it at all.

We definitely did not have any more space for dessert, and we were eager to check in at Tagaytay Highlands, so we quickly paid and left, but not without recommending the place to my uncle who promptly brought my grandmother here the next day. Here's one last shot of the view from where we were seated.  We tried sitting on those leather seats, but they were burning hot from the sun!
